Hello again, :wave2: Now I think I have decided on my tickets now planning food! So got a few more questions I need help with..

I have decided to buy 2 dream passes and 2 fantasy passes as we want to be able to go into the parks for 5 days the cheapest I could find 5 day hoppers for two adults and two children was at 365 tickets which worked out to be £396. The annual passes would be £424 so a difference of 28 which I’m sure we’ll save on all the discounts with having the annual passes, so that’s one decision made!!

Now….restaurants there are three places I really like the sound of.

Inventions
Blue lagoon
Rainforest café

I think these are all fairy expensive but can I used the 20% off (with the two dream passports) at inventions and blue lagoon?

My husband and I will be celebration our 10th wedding anniversary on the 1st June (our first proper day at Disney) so want somewhere lovely to eat (with two children in tow) can’t decide between inventions or blue lagoon…..any suggestions ??

Are there other restaurants not to miss…

Itinerary so far …… I think !!!

Wednesday 31st May ~ Land at CDG airport at 17.20 so plan to drop cases at hotel then go eat at Disney village (if time allows pop into the park just to see the castle for the first time before eating) Not sure if there is a last admissions time? Is there somewhere good we can book as I presume restaurants get very busy at 8.00 as the park closes?

Thursday 1st June ~ Spend the whole day in Disney park (have a good breakfast then a snack later in the day) Book an evening meal somewhere good! (Maybe Inventions)

Friday 2nd June ~ Spend the day in Disney Park or studios (probably go to Rainforest café for an evening meal don’t think I can book?)

Saturday 3rd June ~ Going to be very busy at the parks (as an French national holiday) not sure if we will go to La Vallée Outlet Shopping Village then to one of the parks or other way round. Book an early evening meal somewhere. (maybe the blue lagoon)

Sunday 4th June ~ A blackout day on the fantasy passes so will probably go into Paris and see some of the sights will probably eat in Paris. Can someone tell me as it’s a Sunday if shops, cafes, tourist attractions etc will be open?

Monday 5th June ~ Flight home leaves at 18.00 so will have time to go into the park again for our last time. Not sure but will probably have lunch somewhere.

So how does that sound any advice?????

Sorry for all the questions and long post but has helped me plan it all by writing it all down!!!!! :woohoo:

Liz

I would say to go to Inventions for your celebration meal - though it will probably work out pricier than the Blue Lagoon, if that's okay! If you eat there in the evening your children will be entertained by characters.

I'm fairly certain you can use the AP discount at either of these two restaurants. It's the ones that aren't run by Disney, like Planet Hollywood and Rainforest Cafe, where you can't use it - so most of the restaurants in the Disney Village!!

I would suggest making a reservation before you go, for somewhere to eat on the evening you arrive.

We thought Inventions was great - see my DLP thoughts thread. I know lots of people like Blue Lagoon as well but we didn't try there.

On our last day we booked late lunch at Walts at 2.30 which was really good and came to 74E for 3 including wine. We finished just in time for the Parade and we easily got a good spot just outside to watch it (if we'd spent a little longer eating we could have watched it from Walts upstairs window). After the parade there was just time to catch the 4.45 showing of Tarzan before we went to pick up our luggage at 5.30.

Sorry - just re-read, thought you were leaving at 6 not flying at 6 - the recommendation for Walts still stands though.

Yes you can as well. Remember to use your annual passport at counter service and table service restaurant for 10% discount on meals. Annettes Diner is one of the places in the Village where discount can be had.

We've been to Blue Lagoon and Inventions, both are lovely, and yes, you can use the 20% voucher at both. :goodvibes

I am afraid I am going to throw a spanner in the works now (sorry Becky  ) but I personally think Blue Lagoon is more befitting for an anniversary meal. It is such a romantic setting, you really do think you are on a tropical island! :sunny: When you arrive you can request a beachside table and you will find that riders on POC will wave as they go past, some call out Bon Appetit! pirate:

We also had a lovely meal at Inventions, and were lucky enough to have a table with a lovely view of the castle. :cloud9:

So if I were you, I would swop your meals for the Thursday and Saturday around, especially as you are thinking of eating early on the Saturday. I know you can't guarantee it will be quiet early on but we ate at Inventions on a Saturday last August at 6pm and for the first half hour we had all the characters to ourselves!

I agree it's probably best to book in advance for the night you get there. In the Village you can make reservations at Cafe Mickey and I did think you could also make them at King Ludwigs but see on the DLPfoodguide site it says you can't, so :confused3 Quite a few people have recommended the buffet upstairs at Billy Bob's Saloon.

Hope this helps :goodvibes

I don't mind Elaine!! :teeth: I'm also a big fan of the Blue Lagoon - and I've never even eaten at Inventions!!! I just thought that having the characters there might make it a bit more amusing for the children. I think it will make it a very special occasion whichever place you choose Liz. :)

On Elaine's advice we visited the Blue Lagoon this year for my 40th Birthday & wedding anniversary and it was absolutely superb. Whilst it is a very romantic setting, it's not too adult orientated for the children, we made a point of waving to the passing riders which kept them amused for ages and as Elaine says do request a table on the beach. :goodvibes

Oh decisions decisions!
Having thought some more about the restaurants we have decided to go to café Mickey’s on the first evening as it will be great for the children to see some characters on the first night.
So having decided that I think we will go to the blue lagoon on the next evening for our anniversary (although one problem is the pirates of the Caribbean ride is closed so wont be seeing any boats) don’t know how this will effect the restaurant.
So it will be another character meal on the forth night and not two nights running.

Anyone been to Auberge de Cendrillon lately??? May go there for lunch on our last day.

I do like to plan !!!!

Thanks for all the replies they are really helpful. :goodvibes

Very good idea!! Especially if you don't get time to pop into the park - you'll still have a Disney evening!! Plus you can make a reservation for there before you go AND you'll get your discount with your AP.

Concerning the AP - can someone confirm what dining discount you get on it? You mentioned 20% Liz, but I've just read somewhere that it's only 10%. :confused3

We are getting two Dream passports which mean on each one you can have one meal with 20% off....at least thats what i thought will have to check....

What about cafe Mickey for your first night?
Or a restaurant at one of the hotels, like Manhattan (my favourite!!!!) (and sometimes Goofy "performs" there!) or Cape Cod, or Hunter's grill or so?

They are usually quieter than the ones in the Village, and still give you "Disney magic".

Liz, I didn't read down that far - sorry to worry you!! That 20% is a very nice bonus! :thumbsup2

We went there in March and I was very disappointed, partly it wasn't what I was expecting I'd booked specifically becuse we had a little girl in the party, but there isn't anything in there really of interest to children - yes it's beautiful but it lacked any atmosphere. Our waitress was grumpy, that could happen anywhere I know, it was the "All you can eat buffet" and I'd so wanted to try the Cinderella slipper - not available, the choice of starters was good, I didn't enjoy my mine course at all and the desserts were average.
On the plus side it was the most inexpensive meal we had during our stay.
This was my least favourite of the restaurants we tried and I wouldn't rush back.
Cafe Mickey superb idea - we went on our first night and I couldn't fault the characters, CM's, food, atmosphere everything was spot on, I'd also highly recommend the Lucky Nugget Saloon for a character meal - the buffet selection was fabulous, great theming and lots of characters present. :goodvibes

Thanks Jill, it was the one place that sounded good but I hadn't read much about it from people who had been, I had seen the photo of the slipper dessert and thought "wow" my daughter would love it!!! What a shame they don't do it anymore.
As it was what we planned on our last day will probably leave where we eat untill we are there we might see somewhere that we would like to try!

Thanks

Liz

I think they still do the slipper when the restaurant is open at night, but it's such a shame it's not available with the buffet :sad2:

I have to agree with you Jill, we went to the buffet lunch last summer and although the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, they could do so much more with it......ie Princess meals princess: :teeth:

Liz, that's a great idea to book Cafe Mickey for the night you arrive :thumbsup2

This is exactly what I thought, if they're going to go buffet style anyway, then make it a character meal, it's perfectly suited to the Prince/Princesses, they could even use the Fairy Godmother, mice from Cinderella, the dwarves, Wicked Queen, Maleficent.
Or theme different stories on different days.
Imagine telling your DD she's going to have lunch with Cinderella, Prince Charming and the Fairy Godmother :cloud9:
I'm sure it would be an absolute success, if the queues we saw for the Prince/Princesses meet'n'greet are anything to go by. princess:

Has anyone got Karl Holz telephone number ?

That is a fantastic idea and something that could really make a little girls trip extra special. I know that my daughter would love it! princess:

Its a shame that there is nothing like it at dlp as the american parks seem to have quite a few princess meals.
