We are looking at buying at Beach Club on resale market. My goal is to end up with somewhere between 310-375 points depending on what contracts are available (I think I need to be flexible on purchase if I want a minimum of 310 points). I plan to use points for 2 bedroom at Beach Club for a week either every year or every other year. I have read and others have suggested buying 75 points directly from Disney, so my questions are:

1. Does it in fact make sense to buy 75 points directly from Disney from whatever is the cheapest offering available?
2. If it does, should I plan on buying a Beach Club resale of 235-300? In other words, if I buy 300 Beach Club points and 75 Vero Beach points (assuming same use year and that is cheapest), will I have 375 points to use at Beach Club that I can book at 11 months out?

Thank you.

No, your points always maintain only their home resort priority. So if you need 310 11 month BCV points, they all need to be BCV. Good luck with the search!

1. Also, no, anyway.

Because if you're going annually or every-other-year, you either have to time carefully to make the AP discount work for you, or it won't (every other just won't). That kind of point use plan also means that taking advantage of a special DVC event will be heavily dependent on luck.

Have you stayed at BCV? Have you stayed at other DVC resorts? Have you toured the DVC resorts?

If you don't plan on using VB points at VB, don't buy them. Buy SSR or BLT instead so you at least can use them at WDW.

We have stayed at the hotel, but not the Villas. We have done the tour, albeit it OKW.

IMO you need to get a better feel for what you are trying to buy. BCV is one of our home resorts, we never really stay there and have found BWV, VGF, and CCV Cabins more to our liking.

How would you suggest best approach to do that? I focused on BCV because my family has stayed at the hotels in every primary location at WDW and found the EPCOT area to be our favorite. While we could certainly be happy at either BWV or BCV, I felt that combination of SAB and availability of 2-bedroom units that have 2 Queen beds in second bedroom make it better choice.

What about BWV makes you choose it over BCV?

If you want a 2 bedroom with two queen beds you will need BCV, BWV 2 bedrooms are all lock offs and the 2nd bedroom is a studio, so a queen bed with a sleeper couch and a small Murphy bed.
