ok for those of you who read today's ? of the day, you know that my little man had a fall at school yesterday and dragged his face across the asphalt. well if that's not bad enough.....

he was not going to school today because he had a dentist appt, so he got up this am and was screaming 1st thing this am. oooohhhh boy. not a good sign. all he kept saying was his head and neck hurt. so i called the dentist and cancelled and called the pedi and took him in for them to take a peak at him. well it's STREP! the dr. said it was EVERYWHERE. she said she was surprised that i had not gotten a letter from school. she said she has seen so many cases in the last couple of weeks. i feel so bad for him. he is burning up and i keep dosing him with tylenol. he's just so blah. that's not my man. he looks terrible from yesterday and because he does not feel good. i just wish i could do something to make him feel better.
send him some well wishes please! i can't stand to see him like this.

The pedialyte pops are good. The cold & slightly salty taste help the throat.
STREP has been going around here too. Most of the second grade has had this year. Glad I have Kdg & 4th.

:pixiedust: for feeling better soon.

Oh, bless his heart! It's going around at our school, too!! I hope he feels better soon!! :grouphug:

Hugs :grouphug: ! Strep is NO fun, just ask my DD. Every time she gets sick and goes to the doctor it is strep. She is really tired of having the swab stuck down her throat. She had it twice in Kindergarten. Beware there can be a rash that goes with it. DD got that with her strep a couple years ago and I had no clue that strep could have a rash. Here's some pixie dust pixiedust: and hoping he recovers quick!

We've only had lice going around our school. ;)

He must be miserable. I hope he feels better. We used a lot of popsicles when my girls had it a lot of years ago. Hope he feels better soon and that you get through it too

Scarlatina, but watch it because a lot of new doctors don't know what it is. They claim it doesn't exist anymore. My brother gets it every time he gets strep.
here's a link to the Mayo Clinic site about it.

OH boy does it ever exist!! Holy cow, my DD's peditrician walked in the office glanced DD's way and said "She's got strep!" It was so bad, I felt for her. She took 2-3 oatmeal baths a day for relief. Those young doctors...I could tell them a thing or two!!! (Watch out, I am feeling feisty!)

The good thing is 24 hrs later they are so much better after being on the meds. I'm sure he will be more like himself today. But poor baby, having to deal with the boo-boo, and strep too. And poor mama! :wizard: for both of you!

Scarlatina sure does exist! My DS15 never got the sore throat, and not even a big fever in the begining. Always the rash, the BREATH, and so lethargic! I just knew, and would call in saying he had strep again, jump in for a peek with him, then go off and get the meds.

DS19 was a strep carrier for a year. It just became normal flora in his little body. Every night he got a dose of meds to prevent it from taking over...sheesh, it's just nasty stuff!

Pretty soon he will be feeling better!

Ohhhhh, let me get in line if we are telling doctors a thing or two.

Our office gets hit with strep often, no surprise since our investigators are working with the public.

PD for your little man. Strep is so painful, and for a little guy that is tough. Did the dr. prescribe antibiotics? Hopefully it will kick in soon, and he will be back to his rambucious self soon!

thanks everyone! i just knew you guys would make me feel better. i hope he does not get the rash to go with it. i'll have to check him over good when he gets up.
have i told you guys that you're the best!:grouphug:

Armpits were the first place for the rash...then tummy low... But if he is on meds, he prob wont get anything...

:wizard:

Yeah, DD got the rash the same day she got on antibiotics so she hadn't had enough to not get it. Interesting though, her rash started on her back but quickly spread and covered her.

:wizard: hope he is feeling better!

DD had the rash in preschool along with 6 boats of strep in 3 months, the whole class kept getting it, we found out later we had a "carrier" who never got it.

DD is home sick with a bad cold, hoping to doesn't go any further.........
