More of a package question than resort

So...I didn't know where to post this....We have 5 people staying in our room and only 3 of us want to have hoppers. When I booked I was told we all had to purchase the same tickets (i.e. 5 days with hoppers). So can we purchase without a hopper originally and then have the 3 upgrade to hoppers at the gate? Or do all 5 have to be upgraded?

I have done this twice with the water park option. I don't see why you can't do it with the hoppers though. Not sure.

Yes, you can buy the tickets without hoppers and then add a hopper when needed, per ticket. I wouldn't buy tickets with a hopper until I decided to hop. Sometimes your plans change when you are at Disney so just wait until you need to hop. My DH and DS do this often because my DD and I have APs. DH usually never hops and sometimes my DS will, so we only pay for who ever needs to hop. Have fun!!
