Went to babies r us to look for umbrella type stoller tha reclined for our upcoming trip with a 4 and 2 year old. fell in love with the Maclaren Quest Mod Stroller but not the price. So in searching the web for bargins I came upon these questions?

1. i looked at the 2006 Quest Mod at the store but see alsojust 2006 Quest's on line? whats the Mod stand for? is it just the fabric pattern? or are there diffrences i should know about.

2. lots of reduce prices for 2005 Quest strollers. Were there any changes between 2005 and 2006 or they same just different colors etc?

thanks everyone.

Hi...

I purchased a Mac Quest (2004) last year in prep for our Jan trip to Disney (that we posponed till Nov) Anyway, the quest has proven to be a terrific stroller. My three year old fits perfectly. However we purchased it in anticipation of our baby using it. Had we gone in Jan. she would have been 7 months. She still is swallowed up in it. She does use it. But the straps are loose (she can't get out by any means, but there is just lots of room) It should be fine by Nov. when we go now. I got a 2004 model via Albees (I think that's it???) I'm not sure on the mod...but I would figure it would have to do with pattern/prints.

HTH some
and because my 5 yr old is begging I'm adding these smilies...LOL

:Pinkbounc ;) :bounce:

I just bought a Mac Quest online (albeebaby.com) today after doing tons of research.

The Mod refers to the fabric patterns. There is a Quest Mod and a Quest Sport; same stroller with different fabric.

There are no major differences between the 2005 and the 2006. And you can find good deals on a 2005 right now. I paid $139 for a 2005 Quest Mod in Insignia at the above website vs. $199 for a 2006 model.

Good Luck.

Stacey

Thank you so much...i would have paid the $199 because i was convinced there must be a difference. now, i going to buy online, thanks so Much!!!!

I bought the 2005 quest (also from albee). There is one difference between the 2005 and the 2006. The view window for the 2005 is on the back of the stroller whereas the 2006 model has the view window on the top of the shade. My husband and I are not very tall so this did not matter to us. However, if you or your husband are, you may prefer the window on the top so you don't have to bend over to look at your baby/child. It also depends on whether or not you would even use this feature. I find that I do use it once in a while, but a friend of mine never uses it.

I have a 2005 Quest Mod that I got in January or February in the Rose/Pink print. I just LOVE it!! I get comments on it all the time. People walk up to me and tell me how much they love my stroller! I chose the 2005 over the 2006 model because the 2006 model is much lighter and brighter...I didn't want it to look dirty, so I opted to buy the Rose/Pink 2005 print. It's a navy background with bright pink and pastel pink circles...I just LOVE it!!! And like another poster said, I think the ONLY difference between the 2005 and 2006 models is where the window is on the canopy (which I could care less about)...and of course, the MOD prints.

GOOD LUCK!!!! :thumbsup2

I am so happy I found this thread. :) I went to babiesrus with the intention of purchasing the Techo XT. After trying it out in the store, I found the Maclaren Quest Sport to be lighter in weight and easier to handle with the baby.
Now to get the fabric I preferred I needed to go on line. :surfweb:
Because of this thread I tried Baby Dealz and got the 2006 Maclaren Quest for $169.00 no tax and free shipping. Babiesrus want $220.00 with tax and a shipping charge. The best part is I ordered it Monday eve and it arrived at my door step Thurs. morning. :yay: :yay: :yay:
Fantastic service.
Thanks so much
Belle

FYI, when I bought my Quest in late December, I beleive the Maclaren website stated that Baby Dealz was not an authorized dealer and they wouldn't honor any warranty requests if purchased from them. I'm not sure if it is still on there or still aplies - but I purchased fom Albee just to be safe.

Hmmm, I didn't have that info. I tried Albeebaby.com., but wouldn't you know they were out of stock on the one I wanted, and it was $20.00 more. I'm not to worried though. The stroller is perfect and the Maclaren stroller I bought 8yrs ago is still in perfect condition, even with many gate checks with the airline. I've been very satisfied with the quality of Maclaren.

I bought the 2006 from Babydealz. Mainly because I wanted the print, sage green polkadots, sorry don't know the name. I also was unsure if their were major differences. Never could I find on the 2005 it saying basket, although I figured it was there, just went with the 2006 to be sure. $169 shipped to me and I had it in about 4 days. I LOVE it! I would hope Maclaren would stand by their name no matter where it was purchased from. My son is 3 1/2.

I would be really surprised if they didn't stand behind the product. FYI - you don't need the "proof of purchase" ifyou register the product right away as a gift (I remember seeing that in the warranty info in the book that came with the stroller.) I just bought a 2nd quest (sending the 1st to my mom's) and went with the 2006 in Blue Fieur - I loved the strawberry on Albee;s website which I loved but was too chicken to order it. Anyway, I doubt anyone who ordered from Babydealz will have a problem, just wanted to pass that on, in case someone was trying to decide where to order - all other things being equal.

P.S. About a month ago, I posted that there was no way that I would take my Quest to WDW because the basket was too small and it tipped everytime (planned on taking the Metrolite for the 3x time). Anyway, due to the many people who said "I thought that at first, now I love it", I gave my Quest another shot, and guess what - I love it!!! I think part of it is getting used to the idea that now I have a toddler and don't need to bring the whole kitchen sink with me!! Also, I "made" her ride in it for a while (she hates being confied in anything!) and SHE got used to it, and rides in it much longer than the Graco (which, as long as she is in it, we have no problems with tipping!!) Just thought I'd share that I am now among the believers who will be taking my Quest on to WDW (next week!!!!)

I just purchased one through Babyage. I took DH to Babies r us to see what he thought. I was surprised when he said he really liked it , lets get it. So I came home and ordered it. I ordered it Sunday and it was here by Wednesday.
I can't wait to use it. :cheer2:
Thanks to everyone for the advice.

Both Baby Dealz and Albee are NOT authorized dealers therefore you will not be covered by Mac's warranty, only through theirs. I was going to buy my Quest Mod '06 from one of them but didn't after reading some very bad reviews of their "customer service", repairs and product followup. :scared1:

I ended up buying my from Target online. It's covered by the Mac warranty and was here in 2 days!

It truly is the Lexus of strollers!! ;)

We bought a Mac Triumph in 03 in preparation for our first WDW trip. It was one of my better investments - lightweight, easy to cary with the shoulder strap, the longer handles save the back, and so easy to manuever.

Three full years and another child later, it is still our everyday stroller. In my opinion, it was worth every penny!

I just bought the 2006 Quest Mod in Blue Fleur off of Ebay and it's great! I saved $50 by not buying from BabiesRUs. I am buying a strap that would normally attach to a duffel bag so that I can throw it over my shoulder if need be.

Today I won a gently used Maclaren Twin Traveler on Ebay for $160! All accessories included.:cool1:
I have been watching and researching for nearly 6 months. Now I am a little worried I might have made a mistake. I thought the stroller was the 2005 model. Instead it is the 2004 model. What is the weight rating for each seat on the 04 models? <nervously biting my nails>

The weight ranges haven't changed, so I wouldn't worry about that. My problem in auctions is the subjective nature of the term "gently used." Best of luck with your bargain!

I bought it from Traveleing Tikes com. :surfweb: They were having a sale. :woohoo: I got it for $137 which included shipping. I got it in the pink flag design. The DIS board basically helped me make my decision considering the majority of people that have Maclarens plus my DH (being 6ft 4in) really like the taller handles.
