Just listened and heard about this "glich". Is there anymore specific information on this? Would it be a good idea for me to re-confirm my ADR/activity reservations for this May?

Just wondering the same thing...this is a big deal to me, though the podcast shrugged it off a little, I felt. I don't understand how a company like Disney, that does so many things so well, can let such a thing happen? This isn't a minor glitch, but may affect every day of our trip! After planning our trip around our ADRs, I hope we won't be turned away at the last minute after travelling to different resorts or theme parks, left to find some other dining option. And then are the events we are looking forward to, planned around our dining times. Ughh...I understand that our friends on the podcast have a different perspective since they live locally and can go back whenever they like...for us, though, this would a big problem! Hoping the over-booking wasn't too extensive. :sad1:

i would absolutly double check the dining plan best thing 2 do call them. The phone operators are really great. [and disney has the best "on hold" music i've ever come across] :rolleyes1i konw its long distance[well to most people] but its worth it [i don't really trust some info online]:confused3

I just called wdw dining. The cm told me that they are calling people who are going to have an issue with the overbooking situation. I confirmed all of my ADrs to make sure the "glich" did not bump me out. I was ok. I would call and check out your reservations to be sure you are all ok. I was not lookig forward to long waits or being turned away with 2 little children and 2 grown men who get almost as crabby as the kids when they get too hungry!lol

I just called Disney and the rep said that she didn't know what locations were affected by the double-booking, but believed it had to do with April reservations. In any case, she said that those people affected would be contacted by Disney...so at least you will know beforehand if you have an issue.

Agreed! My husband would be the most annoyed if he couldn't eat where and when he was planning on eating, lol. He doesn't do rides, so we let him choose most of our ADRs to keep him happy :)

We are here now with a group of 17. We talked to our server at OHana last night about this. He said most of this had been fixed. Disney was calling people who had made reservations recently and were moving them around. O'Hana was one of the big ones hit b/c it's so popular. A lot of the restaurants are opening an hour early to accommodate the extra people. Our large party was actually seated almost 1/2 an hour early just because they had opened early.

We were in DHS Guest Relations today and asked to cancel a dining reservation while we were there. They weren't able to do it on their computer system and had to take the information down on paper, then were going to take care of it for us.

I understand the PP who was concerned about being turned away at several of her ADRs. While me, as a solo, I would just deal. I'm an adult, I can survive if my ADR for some reason was affected. But I can imagine that families with hungry kids (or hungry husbands :rotfl:) this could be more stressful. When I first heard the lackadaisical tone from the podcast crew, I was surprised. But when they started to discuss the measures Disney was taking to make things right, I understood why they weren't more upset about it.

Glitches happen. It's how Disney chooses to address it is the issue. If they are indeed calling affected guests and rearranging things AND opening up early, I see that Disney is making a good faith effort to make things right. On the other hand, if Disney just said "oh well, sucks to be you", then I would have a gripe. They are at least trying which is good guest service.

I agree Stacey...seems like they are doing their best to fix the problem :) I have to say that is one of Disney's best qualities - they go out of their way to correct a situation if something does go wrong.

Oops, I'm sorry, I meant to type "Stacy"...bet you get that a lot! My daughter's name is always being misspelled and she hates it! I don't want to do that to you, lol!

I am just gald that I am aware. I am sure Disney will fix it, but at least now if I encounter a problem I am prepared, I have warned the men:rotfl:,I mean the kids lol, about the distant possiblity of a problem, if something crops up we will just go grab a cs meal and move on.

I too was a little worried when I heard about this on the podcast. Our entire family (8) are going in June. Most for their first time. I know things happen but we are planning and looking forward to these ADR's. We will roll with the punches and have a magical time reguardless.
