I was planning on going to the campfire sing-a-long one evening, but then I remembered I don't do well with smoke.

Is there an area I can sit away from the fire and still see? I'm really allergic to smoke of any kind (asthma). I know my niece would enjoy this and so would I, but I also don't want to be rushed to the hospital either.

As I have never been is there any other info you think I should know?

The campfire pits are way off to the side and are in no way an obstruction for the movie. You will have to pass the pit to get to the movie seating area, but unless the wind is really blowing in the wrong direction, you should be fine.

Also, it's not like a bonfire, its a fire in a metal concave bowl.

Is the sing-a-long at the movie area or over by the fire pit?

If I stay over by the movie area would I still be able to hear the sing-a-long and see the characters from there?

Thanks so much. I would really like to make it over to the sing-a-long and movie.

Any tips or info. I might need?

Is there a place for the stroller?, or do you think my niece would be okay without one. I don't want to have to carry her, but if there isn't much walking to get to and from there to a park then she might be okay.

I wouldn't worry about it. They have plenty of bleachers. We never took our stroller and we always are advocates of strollers!

Have a blast!:thumbsup2

We were just there a couple weeks ago, and like Carol and Jen said, the fire pits are contained and off to the sides. My daughter has asthma also and is very sensitive to smoke, and it wasn't a problem at all.

Here is an aerial photo of the campfire area.

The two arrows indicate the location of the campfires.

The red star is the stage where the sing-a-long host is located.

The area just above the red star is where the movie screen is.

Smoke should not be an issue.

Thank you so much. I love the photo-very helpful.

In September it starts at 7pm not 8pm, right? So the sing-a-long is about 20 min? And then the movie is about 1 1/2hrs. So everything should be finished by 9pm.

What is the fastest way to get to the campfire sing-a-long? Is it best to take a boat or bus from MK or a bus from EPCOT or DHS. We are staying at Pop. Then do we take an internal bus or is it faster to walk?

If you are already at a park, you can take the bus to FW, then hop an internal bus to the Meadows area (where the campfire program is). If you are at the MK, you can take the boat to FW, then either walk (about 10-15 minutes) or take an internal bus to the Meadows area. :)

This is from one of the campfire threads:

"The Fort Wilderness campfire program happens year round in the "theater under the stars" located in the Meadows recreation area. It is free of charge.
The program consists of a sing along with a very talented Disney cast members leading the fun. After a brief introduction, our friends Chip and Dale will make their way through the crowd for pictures, autographs and general harassment of the guests. The sing along starts at 8 during the summer followed by a movie (the list is always posted at the top of the thread list) at approximately 8:40. During the winter (after daylight savings time ends, this year on Nov 4th) the sing along starts at 7 and the movie around 7:40."

So the time may be 8pm in September. I am planning on 8pm for October-am I right?

How far away is the beach from the campfire and would it be possible to make it to the Electrical Light parade if you didn't stay for the whole movie?

The beach is about a 10-15 min leisurely walk from the campfire.

Someone who was just at the Fort commenetd about a new cast member doing the sing along, his name was "cowboy Anthony" I am anxious to see what that is all about.
