Did I ever mention how much I love to go to water aerobics??? It never fails...I always walk away with a great restaurant suggestion. Some of my favorite places to eat on-island have come from this class. Nothing like a group of locals who like to talk about food while we burn calories!

Today I heard about...

Christine's Cafe. She is only open for lunch and specializes in soup (Tomato Basil highly recommended by the class ladies) and great salads. According to the website you can also get catering done through her. Found this link: http://www.christinescatering.com/

The talk also turned to seafood. It was a long and involved discussion about which places have changed names and hands. Anyway, a definite recommendation came through loud and clear for a place called The Black Marlin. It may have been listed on the DIS before, but it's new to me. I definitely plan to give it a try.

The barbeque place at Coligny (can't remember the name off-hand, must be my waterlogged brain, lol) is supposed to be moving into Sticky Fingers' old location. It is well thought of too.

Not food related:
Finally, just finished, Coligny Beach Park. It's supposed to be lot of fun, very interesting, and includes interactive water features for the kids. Might be worth a visit.

We go to Capt Woody's whenever we're down (we have a place in Sea Pines, too) and the Black Marlin is right next to it at Palmetto Bay Marina. It's always busy. We've just never made time to try it.

I'm not sure about the BBQ place, but there's one on the right near the parking lot as you're headed toward the Coligny traffic circle. It's pretty good. Might be a better location for them if they take over the Sticky Finger's spot.

We've recently discovered the British Open Pub, which is not new, just new to us. Best reuben I've ever had. My BIL and his family found Hugo's last month and apparently had a really good meal.

That's the one. The original location is supposed to be torn down for add'l parking in the area.

We like the British Pub too!!! :)

Hey Guys!
Your BBQ joint on the south end is Smokehouse.

Black Marlin is good but more expensive than Capt Woody's. Great hurricane bar though.

Coligny Beach Park is very nice.
The bathrooms, changing stalls, rocking chairs and water jets are a big improvement.

SMOKHOUSE! That's it! Yes! I think their food is superior to what Sticky Finger's served, but that's just me.

I know the Marlin is different from Woody's, and that's OK. Both do a good business in a nice location. I'm wondering about the weekend brunch at the Black Marlin ....
