More hard ticket events?

Our last trip was in October, staying onsite. We had and used MBs but didn't "double-dip," because I wanted to try to get a feel for what the system would be like after paper FPs were gone. When we were there, we accomplished everything we wanted to at MK, but it wasn't because of FP+, it was because we forked over the cash for MNSSHP. We didn't watch the parades and only met a few characters. We just wanted to do the rides. And we dominated those rides.

This got me to thinking about what else Disney could offer in the way of hard ticket events. Do EP and HS even have the capacity to do that? I think racers get some type of special access to the parks after some of the races. Could they expand that to other events or just general ticket sales to the public?

I'd love some type of nighttime AK event, other seasonal events in MK (Spring Fling, maybe?), and anything at all in HS or EP. Does anyone think Disney might be looking in this direction? Would anyone else be interested in more hard ticket events?

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. Yes. They have done so in the past.
4. Long rumored to be in the works.
5. Ah, but here's were the situation gets sticky...
They USED to offer more Hard Ticket parties, but they were not
well attended enough to continue them.
Also, guests complained that the park with the paid event had to close too early
to regular guests.

I think that they should just keep the parks open later for regular guests
without charging extra for lots of extra "parties."

It would be great if Disney went back to E-Nights. You paid an addtl amount, around $15 or so, pp, and were able to be in MK for an addtl 3 hrs or so. It was much less crowded than EMHs! They could do one park each night! How wonderful would that be.

And yes, racers do get access to an after hours party. I know that in November, the half-marathoners got access to the Epcot after hours party. Everyone else had to pay about $85+ (depending on how early you bought the ticket) to get in. Would have been nice if the 5Kers were able to get a discount on the party, but that isn't likely to happen. The party was okay, but if you were up at 4am to do the 5K, you were exhausted by 11pm. And if you just finished 13 miles, around midnight, or later, you were exhausted.

Sure would be nice. Too bad Disney seems all about charging us more but giving us less lately. If they leave the parks open later, they will have to recoup the costs somewhere...so, up the prices go again for park passes! I'm not ready to spend more than $100 for a day in MK! I would rather they offered something that would cost extra, for those that chose to do it vs charging everyone more for something not everyone wants. But again...that's not the Disney way, is it.
