More Flexibility Offered for Annual Dues Payments

Yes, but that's not what the Member Insider email that was sent out stated....the Insider is what they were referencing in the article linked here.

I understand that. Just saying people here were responding to the initial article above which has now been updated to clarify they were wrong.

I'm in Canada and enrolled in autopay to pay by CC every January 15th. Was getting excited that maybe they were moving to monthly for that. Guess not :/

Waste of everyone's time,
I'm just hoping there will be some reduction in 2021 MF due to the closures....

We always pay by CC and gift cards. Usually wait until late Jan, until just after the closing window on a CC so it doesn't have to be paid for another month.

This auto thing is only good for people who forget to pay bills.

What a let down! I agree, the Insider didn’t say monthly, we were reading that into it because it would be so nice. I agree it might be because of the CC processing fees - but OTOH, if those fees are a percentage of the charge, 3% of the total all at once would be the same as 3% of the total at the end of the year, right? So it must be the administrative costs on DVC’s side, setting it up and dealing with closed CC accounts, changed CC numbers, etc.

Auto-pay on the 15th of January has no appeal to me. I seldom pay our annual dues in January. There is no late fee or other consequence until sometime in February. I still pay in full each year to get the credit card points.

Okay, so that was a non-announcement? I thought they were allowing monthly credit card payments. I usually pay end of January too, by a combination of GC and CC. I got excited for nothing.

I’m confused. I’ve been paying my dues with my credit card for 15 years. What’s different. I used my Jetblue credit card which in turns gives me enough trueblue points for a free flight.

Okay, suspicious mind here, are they about to start implementing a late fee for payments after Jan 15?

The new info is that you can set it up to auto pay using your CC so you don’t have to remember to go in and pay.

So, not anything earth shattering for sure.

ok, thanks. I’ll continue to do it like the past years, myself. That way I know it’s done right. 🤦‍♀️
