1. What to wear on the plane? We're leaving at 6:00a.m. from NYS. But I feel like we should be wearing shorts to avoid being uncomfortable/hot on the plane, and especially when we land in Florida!

2. Since we'll be there July 2-9, will we need any long pants or sweatshirts at all!?! Up here, it gets chilly at night. But I have a feeling that's not the case in Florida?:confused3

I personally would wear some comfy capris on the plane...

and I am always cold in restaurants, but have never found the need for any sweater at WDW in July.

I don't think that you will need sweatshirts or long pants in July.

As far as on the plane I would wear capri pants. My feet always get cold so I bring a pair of socks to slip on during the flight.

We arrive July 9, and last year we were there in July too. I wear knee length shorts; all my kids and DH wear their regular shorts. It's just so hot that I do not want to bring any type of long pants or capris, and I like the bermuda length because they're very comfortable.

Our first July visit was in 2003, and we brought jackets. I learned my lesson. You will not need them! It's so hot, and the air conditioning in Disney is not that cold, or if it is, it feels wonderful because you're so hot all the rest of the time in July (I'm always cold by the way). Leave that stuff at home and save the space in your luggage for more important things (like souvenirs!).

i went in May and i wore gaucho capris and a tank top w/sandals but took a zipper hoodie with me and that is usually a trend whenever we would go in the summer. I took the hoodie b/c it isnt as heavy as a normal sweatshirt and sometimes I'm cold on the plane so I saved packing space by just wearing it or putting it in my backpack. When we got to MK early evening, I just left the hoodie at WL in our room and I was fine in the park with my tank top and gauchos. My parents and brother all wore shorts and tshirts w/tennis shoes and they were fine as well.

Advice if you are fearful of the cold morning, bring jackets or blankets with you and leave them in the car at the airport b/c as soon as you are in the airport you are in "vacation mode" and wont need them. have a great trip, july can be hot and sometimes rainy but make the best of it and use those EMH (esp at nite) they will save you time so you can chill by the pool in the hot afternoon or u can take a nap before the nite at the parks!!

I usually take one pair of capris with me to Disney and I wear them on the plane to save room in the suitcase. We will not be taking jackets, but the little kids have raincoats. The adults and teens will have ponchos.

We go in August. We all wear shorts on the plane, and the kids and I also wear sweatshirts/jackets. I am always cold on planes. Last year the kids only wore their sweatshirts on the plane, but there were a couple of nights that I wore my zip up sweat jacket when we were walking around the Boardwalk.

Thanks everyone! Since we're leaving our house for the airport at 4:00am - YIKES! - blankets are a great idea, and then we'll leave them in the car.

The girls and I will wear capris and lightweight hoodies on the plane, then we'll have them at Disney if needed. DH refuses to wear OR bring long pants or a sweatshirt, so we'll just let him freeze. LOL!
