I just called WDW-PLAY to check on cancellations for an Illuminations Cruise and pressed 5 as usual. Instead of just getting a rep or being told all reps were busy and being put on hold, I received different prompts such as if I was calling from the Orlando area or if my trip was within the next 7 days, then if I have visited before or not, then if I have visited more than 4 times with at least 1 trip since 1998 or not.

I also checked WDW-DINE and received the same prompts!

I am getting a little annoyed with all of this demographic and informational stuff that they are collecting before you can make a simple request. I wish everything was automated on the Internet...

Just a heads up to anyone who may be calling at 7 AM for a crucial Illuminations cruise or Cindy's seating, I'm sure this will delay your getting through. Perhaps they don't turn this on during the 'morning rush'?

I just had the same experience. All I wanted to do was make a PS for Ohana, and got this re-routing nonsense.

I was on hold for 20 minutes and hung up, disgusted.

I'm with you -- this is nonsense.

I don't like the 90 days in advance policy. I like having everything booked and set so Ic an concentrate on saving up spending money and know exactly where I'll be eating and when. I feel like the 90 day policy punishes the folks who like to be super organized. :(

Great another new thing to make my wait even longer  Can't they get their act together and make it all consciese and easy for everyone. Definetly not looking forward to the new wrinkle in calling when I have to make a request in a few weeks.pirate:

Has anyone gottne this message in the am. Perhaps WDW would disengage it from 7:00 - 7:30 am...if not, ugh, what a bother!!!

well, disney is always trying to make more money and have been in a slump since 9.11. They're just doing their marketing research so that they can serve their devoted fans better each year. and also to target those unsuspecting disney potentials. vultures. haha but hey, that's business. the more money they get, hopefully, the better the parks.

It wouldn't be so bad if they had an 800#. You are paying while you are pressing numbers and then holding (if you don't have a Disney Club 800#).

Debbie, ITA! I can't think of another major corporation who makes you do this! It really burns me up. The last time I called I got a really hard sell for Cirque tickets. I had to tell the agent "No" twice before she let it go. It makes it way more annoying when you know it's on your dime!

Why not send Disney an email and let them know that you don't like having to "pay" for them to get survey information - especially if you are already spending a long time on hold to do business with them and the questions do not help you get what you want faster. Ask them for a telephone number that bypasses the survey questions and see what they say.

No, it's not disabled in the am. I had to call this morning for CRT for our trip in Jan, and the options were all there. I had actually called yesterday for another PS, and just jotted down the answers, 1 since it's not V&A's, 2 because it's for an upcoming trip, 1 because it's not the first trip, and then this morning there was another one, have I been there more than 4 times. The good news is that you can push the buttons as soon as they question starts.

So basically WE pay for THEIR marketing strategies! I'm not very happy about that.pirate:

They took out the 800# for spanish speaking people. So everyone is in the same boat now. I am glad that I got my PS for Liberty Tree before all this nonsense started. They stick to the 90 day wait time. I tried to make PS a day ahead and was shot down. I think the day we wanted the PS for MK will be crowded because the seating is booked. I am suprised, Dec 9 is not a christmas type day. Now the seating was ok for the next day but not for tuesday:confused:
If the questions are going to help us then that is fine but If they are just going to file them and do what they are doing now then why bother. Walt's dream has turned into a business if he were here, there wouldn't be Euro, Japan or even Twain. Walt wanted the world to come to the US to see the majic. I am sorry to see Walt's dream turned into a money making enterprise instead of something magjical.

December 9 is one of the days for MVMCP (Mickey's Very Meryy Christmas Party). Those who purchased MVMCP tickets were able to make dinner reservations at the same time that they bought the tickets. PS times for dinner at the LTT have been pretty much booked for quite a while. Apparently, there will be a few more slots released at the 90 day mark.

Because so many people love MVMCP and want to eat between the time the MK closes to day guests and reopens for the party, you're going to have lots of competition for the good dinner PS times at LTT, CP and the Castle. Good luck!

You have to jump through the same marketing number pushing even with the Disney Club toll free numbers. I mentioned it to the CM who took my reservation, and she said yes, it was new. Got the impression she had already heard more than one complaint about it. I was hoping it just meant I was being rerouted to a more experienced CM since I had visited more than 4 times, or whatever the last silly selection was.:headache:

But man, if I have to pay to push the numbers, my complaint is going to be a lot more pointed than it already was. Doubt this will last for long.
