We are most likely moving to France in the next couple of months and I have some questions concerning APs. I have looked at the site with the prices and comparisons but for some reason I can't get the calendar with block out dates to work. Is the link wrong or is the calendar down/being revised or something?

I am thinking we will do dream passes because we'd like to be able to go on Christmas and other holidays and not be blocked out. How does this work for children? Are dream passes the same price for adults as for children? Our girls are 4 and 2.

I know most of the people who post here are from the UK but I'm wondering if anyone is from France. Do you find the passes worthwhile? I figure based on the prices for 4-day parkhoppers, it's worth it (especially if we go 2-3 days only at Christmas!) I'm sure we'll go 1-2 more times throughout the year.

As far as sponsorship is concerned, can you collect different sponsors for your APs throughout the year (a few here/a few there) and apply them right before your passes expire? This seems too good to be true! And living in France, it will be easy for me to sponsor people b/c I will be able to easily get to the park.

Okay, a few more general DLP questions:

1. What do the character meals cost? We were recently at DLR and for 2 adults and 1 child the Princess meal was $100! I haven't seen many reviews for the Disney Princess character meal on here... am I missing them?

2. DLR has the princess fantasy faire so my girls got to meet/greet/take pics with 3 princesses for free. I see that there are meet 'n greets with the princesses in fantasy land each day - how many princesses will we encounter there? Right now (and I think for the next few years) princesses are the center of life! Just want to make sure we'll be able to see enough of them!

3. We will be living in the Pas de Calais area so probably coming from Lille or Arras. I see that the TGV goes directly from Lille to DLP. Does anyone know if you can get annual TGV passes? I'm trying to figure out if it is just going to be cheaper (but definitely longer) for us to drive.

4. Between the two parks, is there enough to do with a 2 and 4 year old? I felt like DLR was so well set up for little kids! We did Playhouse Disney Live (which I hear is coming to DLP), the pixar parade (which was awesome!), all the typical fantasyland rides, and the monsters inc. ride. We got to see almost all the princesses through the fantasy faire and the dinner.

Anyway, these are the thoughts I have now... these boards are so invaluable!

Thanks,
angie

Lucky you moving to France.

To try and answer some of your questions- on the site which most people use to check blackout days- DLP magic the calendar part isnt woking at the moment but someone posted a link to the French version of the official site yesterday or Saturday and you could get a list of blackout days off that - unfortunately only the Frech version of the official site has info on the APs - so if you check the recent threads you should find it.

The APs for children are the same price but at the moment there is an offer on where passes for under 7s are free with purchase of an adult AP

You can collect sponsors through the yr to renew the AP but a free childs AP cant sponsor so you would need to pay to renew it

There are quite a few reviews for the Princess meal- there was a thread fairly recently and look at the restaurant sticky at the top of pg 1 for info

The Princess meet and greets only allow you to see 1 Princess at a time and you may queueing for one and by the time you get to the front the Princess has changed so you dont always know who you may meet

Sorry cant help on the TGV thing

You'll find loads to do between the 2 parks

Wow, thanks for the reply. That promotion for a free child's AP with an adult one sounds great - do you have any idea how long that will last? I'm tempted to just buy them online before we even get there since it will save us $270! Is it something they are doing for the 15th anniversary? I'll check out the princess dinner reviews! Thanks!

Can't wait to be a regular at DLP!

I think free child AP offer goes onto Nov. Its been extended twice already though so who knows when it will end.
You cant get that offer if you buy online though just in person. You only need tickets for 3 yr old and over so you wont need one for your youngest

The link to French site with blackout days is on the thread AP Query (original poster mumof3) and is about reply 8. Soory I dont know how to link it or would add it here.

Mods - could this link be added to the Sticky now the other link no longer works - I know its in French but at least it gives a idea - Thanks

Do you know if the kids have to be with us when we purchase the APs? We will be taking probably two trips out there before we move but it is likely we won't actually move until November. Could we buy the passes without them being there? Also, do you think they'd give me a pass for my 2 year old since she'll turn 3 within the year and we'd have to buy her a pass before ours expired?

They need to be with you when you buy the passes as everyone needs to have their photo taken for the pass. Also they wont allow you an AP before your DDs birthday so you would have to get her one when she turns 3 - however you could sponsor her to get it cheaper and depending on blackout days you could get a cheaper one

A Small World, thanks for all your help. Now I'm just hoping that we will be moved to France before this offer is up!
