It's so good to know there are other people out there obsessing about this.
The first year I was clueless and knew nothing about the contest, last year I thought I didn't have a snowballs chance in hades, but this year even tho I still think I have no chance of making it, I'm going to give it a try.

Well, it's that time of year when Mickey is on the lookout for the best, the mousiest, the most pixie-dusted vacation planners the world has ever seen to join the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

Launched in January 2008, the site is an online forum led by real, park-savvy parents who assist with the vacation-planning process. The site became an instant success, with 12 panelists answering more than 12,000 questions in its first 10 months. Due to the popularity, Disney Destinations, LLC, created its second Moms Panel with 16 panelists who took the helm in January 2009.

Disney is looking for new people to become members of the 2010 Moms Panel. In September, we will be taking applications for the new panel. Once the new panelists are chosen, they will travel to Walt Disney World® Resort in December for training. The 2010 panelists will begin answering vacation-planning questions in January.

If you're chosen, not only could you receive a Walt Disney World Resort vacation for you and three other guests, but even cooler than that, you also could be helping families across the nation plan their best Disney trip ever!

I just found this thread - was thinking about applying this year. I was wondering if some of the Moms on the panel could share what their experience has been like over the past year. What exactly does the job entail? What were some of the highlights of being on the Panel?

Welcome! Glad you are here to enjoy the waiting game with us! Hopefully one of the Panel will answer your questions on the highlights!

I also just found this thread......I can't wait to apply for the third time. I also must confess to being "that person who just can't stop talking about Walt Disney World". I've been a huge Disney fan since I was a toddler in the late 1950's and my Grandpa's nickname for me was "Donald Duck" since my initials were DD. Family and friends now refer to me as Disney Donna when planning a trip to WDW.......one friend calls me "her personal travel agent" even though I'm not in the travel industry at all!!!! Well, everyone......Good Luck next Thursday!!

Got my email, too, from the Mickey Moms Club!!!!

Yippee! Only 8 days until applications and only 8 days until my D23/Disneyland vacation. I am sure the first question I ask the front desk at the Grand Californian Resort is where is their business center so that I can submit my application from there!

I think my mom would be fantastic for this, so I'm going to suggest that she applies.

For anyone who made the panel before, do you need to pay for the trips you take down to WDW for the panel? And can you plan the training into a family vacation? Because I don't think my dad would want to pay for my mom to go to WDW all the time, and my mom and I always do Disney together, so I think she might want to build a vacation around it sometime, if she got chosen.
