 This sounds just like my hometown....which is not Memphis. "Yes, pres-shussss" is how I answer the kids sometimes and can be translated to mean "What do you want NOW??"

I figured it was general Southerness but as I first encountered it in Memphis I didn't want to generalize.

So when a darling child comes home with a nose piercing, strange hair color or tattoo , we will be sure to reply "Well, isn't that just... pres-shusss."

My best friend from kindergarten's mom could, and still can, use this word with a slight lift to a carefully groomed eyebrow and convey any reaction from "you have to be crazy" to "you will be grounded untill you recieve social security"

Ok. Twinkie, queen of swoop, OUT.

Moo hoooty Twinkie!!! Two in one day first 3,000 post now the 500th page.

:cheer2: :cool1: :dance3: :cheer2: :cool1: :dance3: :cheer2: :cool1: :dance3:

Lexi-- my kids are afraid of cats and dogs. Just recently they have been asking for a kitten. Since Hannah actually touched and held this one we gave in. Mind you now I am having second thoughts. I have kitty litter all over the kids bathroom and it wants to be held and snuggle at my shoulder all the time. I thought I would like that but not when I want to get things done. High stress in the house right now. Maybe we are not cat people....:lmao:

Celery-- the twins talked too, wow. You are going to have every bright children. Just like Twinkie and Mommy P.

Spongie-- how exciting only 3 days left. You kids must be so excited.

What are friends fur? You know that I know that you know that I am a speshul speerit. Real pres-shus. ;)

Pres-shus (precious) is Memphis, Tennessee lady speak for any of the following: spoiled rotten, bratty, skanky, idiotic, or tacky. Of course, the biggest sin is to be "tacky". In Memphis. ladies don't hide are feelings. We discuss them in code all while smiling and sipping iced tea.
Ohhhh, I like bored, rich ladies! Smiling Mean Ladies too. I think "ARE feelings" has officially caught on

But do they poke you in the arm as they repeat the many variations of "mom" including your given name? That's extra precious.
is that just sad that we could go on fur :rotfl: Days, we should start a thread on that?
we are watching transformers and cam cam is crying for bunglbee .how sweet.
Cam Cam is yummy. I wuvs him.
dangit. Work intefered with my swooping! No fair!

You didn't stand a chance. We all know Twinkie installed fancy Swooping Software. For e-bay. We were all pawns.

Meh! :confused3

So NOW you have your posting frenzy. While I am getting ready for church!

Yes, I am going. Even though I really DO have a headache. How can you resist when you 2 year old comes up to and says,"Class?".

Luther - My plan is laid out. I made Chad's favorite dinner, which means he will toadily overeat. Leaving only myself to get ice cream for. We are mean parents who rarely buy it for the kids. (one time at DQ the girl saw them all in the drive-thru and I guess she thought they were darling. So she gave them all small cups of ice cream. lol. Anyhoo, how 'spensive are we talking? I know Chad has a little bit o cash in his wallet. I am planning on asking him very sweetly to get me some ice cream after/ before church.

Dinner's ready! Chad's actually getting it on plates. gotta go!

about 5 bucks here for a pint with mixins.

take spoons and all of y'all eat it -
that way they get some too!

Celery - My boys cannot have chocolate. It's like drugs to them. And I plan on having something chocolate. Plus we won't be stopping, because we'll either go before church(not enough time) or after church(it'll be too late) so I will be eating in the truck. They'll live. They get snacks in their classes. I sure as heck don't. ;) PLUS, if we go to the beach on Sat. it's tradition to get ice cream on the way home. So they'll get theirs.

Dinner was goog. It's all cleaned up and put away.

A big MOOOO HOOOTY to Twinkie and all posters reaching mile stones today
  :hippie:  :thumbsup2 :goodvibes :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :grouphug:

Dang work interfered with my posting too, dagnabbit!

You sure were a chatty bunch today, LOL, I love it.

My news of the day: I came home today, and DS was over, so I was looking a him when I walked in. A few minutes later he turned me around to look at something.
A vase with a dozen roses and a card!

I went oh, wait, is today October 17? Yep!! My 37th wedding anniversary
I totallly forgot. :scared1:

Hubby said he had trouble finding white roses (mixed in with red). He was looking for them because 37 years is Alabaster!

wow happy anniversary to you and yours.......today is our daughter and son in laws and also our oldest grandson who is 16.......this was my daughters second marriage (to the right one this time) and they decided to share their day with grandson and get married on that day......so two celebrations and now yours too.....we shall celebrate yours too......

Tonight went to see my mama......she had her animated skeleton that plays bad to the bones and dances (halloween thingie) and she was giving it a drink.....made me sniffle......sad to see our parents regress to child like things......I know she is 93 and has done so well so long.......she has not been eating but maybe one taste at each meal.......it makes me sad...I will try to find her a soft doll and maybe she will like that instead of that dang skeleton

Thanks, Pumba for the congrats. Sorry about your mom. Mine is 93 too, but still in great mind and body. It scares me when the day come that she won't be.

But for today, celebrate and be merry!

It is all mine. Mine. Mine. Mine!
Fame.

Glory.

Bragging rights beyond imagination.
MOO HOOOOO, Twink!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I missed the posting frenzy - it was fun to read! My meeting got over around 3:00 and I made a pact with my coworker not to go into the office. I came home and took a nap instead. Two early mornings in a row did me in. I feel much better tonight.

Nabbie, sorry you are having a rough time over the kitty. The nice thing about puppies is that you can crate them when you need a break. I think there is an adjustment period with any new pet.

DTD and Cel, thanks for the Nashville info. I'll pass it on to my daughter. Hopefully, SOMEone in their group has been to Nashville before. I know they like to go places where they can dance.

Goog luck to Tammy on her surgery. Let us know when so we can send prayers.
