Happy Valentine's Day

We got 2-3 inches of snow.

My mom is coming over so Tim and I can go out.

We have no idea what we are doing.

Boo on the snow, Moo and Mony.

I won't tell you about the weather here (but my turn is coming soon).

Mony, have fun on your date!

DD just called to say she is coming over. She asked if I cooked anything delicous yesterday that I didn't tell her about (again). But no such luck, I didn't cook last night.

ETA: DD and DH went grocery shopping and I handed them my shopping list. Which included chicken livers Stroganoff that DD loves. (served over fluffy rice). So I am getting ready to make them. But no soup (or livers) for her tonight, as she has a date with her BF of 3 weeks (younger man, he's 21, she's 24). She didnt know what they are doing tonight though. And she has to work tomorrow.

How much you want to bet she comes over tomorrow to get leftovers????

Rant here:

So I wrote on the shopping list (meant for me originally, not DH).
"Chicken livers"

He got 2 packs, good!
BUT, they are 1.65 pounds each, not one pound. So that's over 3 pounds, not the 2 I intended.

No way do they all fit into the frying pan at one time.
So now I have to cook twice tonight or again tomorrow,

GRRRRRRRRRR!

But I can't really complain because he did the shopping and I did not specify.

DD got a 1
"whatever that means"
:rotfl2: DD that means you got a first!! :rotfl2: It was really cute - her partner after it was over, collapsed in tears because she made a mistake - dd said, it was my fault, you just followed my lead!! too cute! and they got a "1"!!

We're having some big honkin steaks!! and potatoes augratin (ala Yachtsman steakhouse!) and aspargus! as opposed to getting a sitter, or going out - DH said that a $140 grocery bill for the week was a bit steep... (dear that was $40 for liquor - a case of beer-Oktoberfest beer- 1 bottle of wine, 1 bottle of champagne!! and it was a heckavu lot cheaper than dinner at Yachtsman's!!)

so Cheers!

http://www.disboards.com/report.php?p=30289333

He was convicted but swore he didnt do it. I just never heard of a person with a last name of NICE.

Yes, I could freeze one pack, but I had already opened both and then realized, WOW, this is a lot. So I will probably end up making the other half tomorrow.

CONGRATS to your DD! (or am I confused with the crying?)

Steak sounds yummy!

Mom comes over, kids are set we leave.

Go to the bank.

Get to the restaurant.

Tim runs to the mens room.

Comes back and says I'm sick.

What??????

He says, I was hoping it would pass, I didn't want it to ruin the night.

We give the little vibrating thingy back and leave.

I wish he would have said something about this earlier. Poor guy.

He said he'd make it up to me.

So we stopped at Mc Donalds, so I could get a sandwich and I brought all the kids a fries home.

Happy Valentine's Day:rotfl:

Sandy - Congrats to your DD! Steak for dinner sounds yummy.

Marita - Did you get your cooking done?? All I had to eat was Campbell's soup and some popcorn later. I haven't really been in the mood to cook lately. We never go out to eat on Valentine's Day. I might suggest going out for dinner tomorrow night though.

Mony - Sorry your date was a bust. Hope your hubby's feeling better.

I've just had an enjoyable relaxing day today. Got caught up on my TV shows and have been doing some reading :)

Awww, Mony, so sorry  Hope Tim feels better soon.

Sure is a lot of sickness going around everywhere. DH was out 3 days this week.

I'm working on DD's cookbook with the cute clipart. I had a copy saved to my work drive, but I just realized that a lot of them just have the cute pics, and no list of ingredients or directions. So I have to redo that.

I added chicken livers tonight, since she just declared that her favorite meal evah! Who knew? Since when? I hadn't even made that in years.
Do you know that there are no cute cartoonish images of chicken livers in microsoft?

Oh MOO??????????????

But I added a cute dancing chicken to the top of the page.

I had a whole collection of clipart that was all in the same pattern saved on my old pc and now I cant find it. I tried, hope against hope, to see if the old one might turn on, but NOOOOO! WAHHHHH

We give the little vibrating thingy back and leave.

Happy Valentine's Day:rotfl:

:rotfl2:

Yes. I can be 2 years old!! :lmao:

The King and I is on - "can we dance all night".... dd and I are singing...

steak was perfect - potatoes augratin were PERFECT!!

and for dessert?

choc covered strawberries and choc covered pretzels (yes I made them) and of course Heart Shaped Sugar Cookies!!

Marita I HATE that when our computers have died, I have saved some awesome stuff - that just... *poofs*

but to make your recipes - priceless!

Did anyone watch Psych and Monk??? Psych was AWESOME - a Friday the 13th ( it was shown on Friday 13 too!!)

Hubby brought me some Dove dark chocolate tonight. Yummm.

But steak sounds even better, Sandy!

Marita - I think I'd go with a dancing chicken too!!! :lmao:

Last edited by Minnie_Moo : Today at 11:23 PM. Reason: Yeah, Sandy, I googled chicken livers. May I just say e-e-e-w?

You may, toadaly. But since my DD declared it her favorite dish evah (since when?). I had to add the recipe.

So here it is, sans the cute clipart pics of the ingredients and the dancing chicken: Just cause I KNOW everyone is dying to cook chicken livers:rotfl2:

But, hey, it's pretty cheap! Not that that is the reason I made it. Apparently it is the new gourmet dish.

Below is the recipe from my cookbook. Ok, I can double that, make 2 pounds. But DH got 3.3 pounds! Too much for one cooking. ACK!

But not enough for 2!

CHICKEN LIVERS STROGANOFF

INGREDIENTS:
1 pound chicken livers
1 medium onion
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon Oregano
Dash of Pepper
1 can (6 oz) mushrooms

DIRECTIONS:
1. Half livers:snip out any veiny parts or skin with scissors
Brown livers slowly in butter or margarine seasoned with oregano and
Worchestershire sauce, Remove from pan

2. Add onion: sautee until soft. Blend in flour, salt and pepper; stir in mushrooms
and liquid. Heat, stirring constantly, to boiling; return livers; cover.
Simmer 3 minutes, or just until livers lose their pink color.

3. Stir about 1/4 cup liver mixture into sour cream, then stir back into remaining
in pan. Serve over fluffy white rice and garnish with crisp bacon slices if you wish.

The King and I was the first musical I ever saw on stage. I was so young and so drawn in to the whole experience. Sigh. I was on such a high after that.

Night everyone.

Sandy, I was looking forward to a nice drink with the hubby. It will have to wait I guess. you can be 2 all you want. I set you up for that. High five!

geegollywiz Mon - ten hours you were high fiving, and now look?!!

:wizard: is definately needed up your way!

Thanks for the recipe Marita - ummm I'll pass... :rolleyes1

DD still asleep, we're reading the paper and noticing there is a HUGE video void!

AMAZING RACE begins tonite - Go Margie and LUKE (Mom and son - son is deaf!) :cool1:

Hoping to convince dh to take me to Target... :rolleyes1

Ugghh, sorry about all the beurking and pooping Mony  Hope it passes quickly.

Got up at 11:30, read the paper, and now time for doing some more work today. Boss is back from vacation tomorrow, and I need to finish up some things. :upsidedow

Mony - Sending a cyber hug to you, but I sure wouldn't want to do a meet IRL today! Hope YOU stay well.

Marita - I only eat chicken liver about once a year any more, when I go to Frankenmuth for their chicken dinner and have the pate. But I remember my mom and grandparents fixing them (fried) when I was young.

I've been out and about for a haircut today. My stylist just had a baby six weeks ago and she's moved to a salon at the mall so she can work weekends while her hubby can stay home with the new baby. She's looking good and has lots of energy. I got to see her daughter a couple weekends ago at the grocery store. Such a little cutie!

2 people just got out of bed over here and one of them was not me.

I have to go and get things that they can tolerate. Maybe some Vernors to help settle their tummies.

It's a real good thing I got ALL of my homework done yesterday. I tired.
