No, I'm here too. I just signed up for a Half Marathon in NashVegas! YIKES!!!!!!! :scared1: What did I just do? :confused3

I'll be fine, just having buyer's remorse, or signup remorse, or sumpn' like that. :rotfl2:

YAY Allie, youu'll be fine. Goog for you!

RUN, Allie, RUN!

Late night check-in . . . HOWDY!

I was finally transferring over the old laptop files to the new one tonight because DH (the D does not stand for "Dear" tonight) ;) wanted his laptop back. At least I figured out how to use my backup drive. Had to go to THE Wal-Mart tonight to buy a gizmo -- cord that goes from a USB port to a mini-USB port -- to do the file transfer with after borrowing my boss's at work today.

Mony - I thought Sandy's birthday was also on Valentine's Day. I was thinking it was earlier this week and in fact had posted a happy birthday greeting, but then saw the 14th on FB so I deleted it :confused3

So, Sandy, if we missed your birthday, please let us know so we can cyber celebrate!!! :dance3: If we didn't miss it, please verify the date :)

Marita - Those air fares seem awfully high :headache:

Cel - I didn't know Ben got the job either

Coffee Talk Topic for Tomorrow: Valentine's Day  Is a "love coupon" a "real gift"? Or must it be chocolate, flowers, jewelry, or such to count?

Discuss.

Moo, yay for the file transfer. I am scared to death to have Disney try to fix my old laptop from work. OK, so I used it for personal stuff........... against policy, but I lost so much stuff.
Happy to have one of my very own now.

Re: Valentines Day, I told hubby to save his money, I dont need flowers or candy or anything else, save our money.

Hmm. Depends on what the "love coupon" says - if it's from someone who will follow through and it's for something desperately needed - like a girl's night out, housework etc, then I say that's MUCH better than candy or roses.
But why not do both? A cheap box of candy or a few flowers PLUS a love coupon.
it's not super expensive and it shows you REALLY care.

I think I like match.com!
I already have a date!
and another really nice guy I'm texting.
and a few more I'm emailing.

Don't worry, mamacel - the date is at the airport - he's a business man and his flight friday lands 10 minutes before mine - so we're meeting for lunch at the o'charleys in the airport.
if he's a creep, I can call for security!

:scratchin:
Maybe I should start having all my dates at the airport - that way I know they've been scanned for bombs and weapons. :thumbsup2

They moved the smilies back!
wahh! Not sure if I memorized my favorites!
:hyper:

Chad got the new electrical job. He starts Monday(hopefully they will have gotten the results back from the drug test by then). Unfortunately at his old job they said they didn't need him to finish out the week. :scared1:

Oh well, nothing we can do about it.

The kids have all been sick. It started with Jeremiah end of last week with a 2 day headache and 1 day belly ache. Then he was fine. Then I had my fever for 1 day. Then Seth had the headache/belly ache thing and Ethan has had a fever for 2 days. He woke me up feverish at 4am this morning and I gave him some more Tylenol, so I'm waiting to see if it comes back. I hope not because Chad and I want to go kayaking tomorrow. Well, I want to go to the beach and he said he'll only go down to the beach if we go kayaking. I hope he realizes that I'm not touching a paddle. ;)

No sickness for Isaac yet, or Kaleb. I am sure Kaleb won't get it. I WISH he would be down for a few days with a fever. :rolleyes1 Give me a chance to rest. lol. But I'm sure I won't be so lucky.

Thank googness for no puking! It's been a long time since that kind of sickness has gone through our family. I prefer to keep it that way. :thumbsup2

I am usually the person who gets nada on Valentine's Day. No biggie, but somewhere in some remote corner of me wishes there was at least something to show that I am appreciated.

A card, a flower, heck I'd even be happy if I didn't have to make dinner and the whole family went out so I didn't have anything to clean up. I don't need anything romantic. Romantic is DH putting all the kids to bed.:)

A coupon works too. Especially the kind that say: We are going on a mom and dad only vacation somewhere warm for a week. Yep! Those are the best!

I thought I'd clean out his car and leave his favorite peanut butter chocolate candy in there. Since our son is allergic to peanuts, he's deprived of this little escape.

Have a grrrrreat day everyone!

The hotel had cinnamon toast crunch.
:hyper:
I'm in cereal heaven!
(it doesn't take much)

Good Morning Celery!

Do you have a date for Valentine's day?

Hubby brought home a dozen red roses last night for me. He said he wanted to beat the rush.:lmao: We were at the mall last Friday and were in a card store I showed him a card he showed me one done. And we saved $10.00 too. I have plenty of cards from him given to me for no occasion, I treasure them more.

Birthdays for when given to Melinda: Feb.8th Sandy (?) I guess she will have to answer if this is right or not.

Upcoming birthdays for March: Melinda -- 3rd
Monica -- 4th
Twinkie-- 15th
Nab -- 24th
Lil'g -- 26th (?)

Marita-- I was busy watching all my shows last night. Biggest Loser, Idol and they had the mother of those 8 babies on Dateline. She has problems I tell you. :sad2:

cel - that is so sweet that you and your hubby show each other cards!
it makes so much more sense than buying them!

No date for valentine's yet - we'll see.
at the rate I'm going, I'll have several!
I think managing match.com is gonna be a full time job!

I did email the eharmony guy I went out with just to say hey. if he doesn't respond, oh well.

I hope all the poppins and mony babies feel better soon!
Ditto :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Backstage, Hooray for your book arriving. May it be the edition you always wanted.

Celery, I'm glad match.com is working for you. :goodvibes Great plan about the airport dates too.

I was watching NCIS and The Mentalist. Did you know rain can sound the same at 2AM as it can at 2PM?

Have a goog day every one :yay:

Regarding cawfee tawlk, I just have to say, the sliding necklace is making a come back. I saw it on a female news caster last night. I wouldn't know about coupons and such for Valentine's day, dh isn't into that kind of stuff. :sad2:

Get well and stay well every one.

BBN, stay dry and I hope all the rain we're getting doesn't flood you out.

PrincessJasimine, Goog luck tomorrow with all the celebrations.

Hey Beth! Thanks for checkin in. Good to see you. So, what have you bought so far for the baby???????

Aww, gee, what would make you think I have been shopping??;)

well, we are getting the crib and dresser for them( they had to order it through Babies r us in Anchorage) and the other grandparents are getting the bedding, stroller, car seat and high chair.

Grandpa ( my Dh) went and got them a awesome baby monitor...it has a video camera and screen where they can watch the baby. I didn't even know they made things like that..lol It will be perfect since they have a 2 story house and she will more then likely be having a c-section.

I founds some adorable stuff on clearance at Target, including a cute Winnie the Pooh jumper set. And some little jackets at Old Navy on clearance. Looks like I will be taking 2 suitcases to Alaska.

Her friends are giving her a baby shower, and are going to have it while I am there visiting in April, how sweet is that?

Speaking of birthdays, I think I share mine with one of the George W's...July 6. Pretty cool.

HEY! It's been several months since we have had a birthday debacle. I just like to keep things interesting. (NAB: My source also said Sandy's birthday was the 8th :upsidedow )

Moo: As far as valentines coupons go, I'm not picky. I just appreciate being remembered, even though it is a silly commercial holiday. It always makes you feel better if you think somebody actually gives a darn about you.

Now if it were a new relationship and we had been exclusively dating for several months then I might be annoyed that he would forget our FIRST Valentines day or something like that. Otherwise, I'm happy with anything. Even if it is as something small as a REESE'S PEANUT BUTTER HEART! w00t!!!

Besides, romance comes in lots of ways, shapes, and forms. A card and candy (or even a coupon) aren't necessarily the ideal way of being romantic, imho.

Celery: You are a dork. But I love that, b/c I am a dork too. Dorks unite!!

MommyP: sorry about your sick kiddos. blech

Mony: ita that it's the being remembered that is important. not necessarily the gift.

Blue: Omgosh the wind is crazy today. I'm having flashbacks of wind storm '08. Let's hope everybodys power stays on.

Beth: That is so nice that they are going to have the shower while you are there.:)

Speaking of birthdays, I share mine with Nicolas Cage. I think that means I'm really cool or sumpthn.

Also, in a completely unrelated subject, b/c that is what I am known for....I would like to say that sour cream and cheddar chips are divine. I used to kinda sorta like sour cream and onion chips EXCEPT I HATE onions, so the aftertaste was beurk-worthy. But the new sour cream and cheddar? That's a chip I can really sink my teeth into. Whomever thought of that combo, must be a freakin' genius.

Also hoping the germies have gone and the homes are on their way to ggoog health!!

Beth I sure hope they have a skype system, or a way to turn that camera monitor on so you can watch the sleeping baby too!! :goodvibes We do live in the computer age!!!

:rolleyes1 birthday??? hmmm :rolleyes1 now why would I want to confusal anyone or be nailed down to a date? :rolleyes1

Speaking of dates... Hope you have fun Cel!! :rolleyes1

:dance3:
(hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil)

babycow - You don't like onions? I'm not sure we can be friends anymore. :snooty:

Tee hee.
I'll forgive you though.
didja watch the show last night?
didja see the previews for the upcoming ones?
:hyper:

Re: Valentines Day, I told hubby to save his money, I dont need flowers or candy or anything else, save our money.

I'm with Nab with the card deal - I treat it like a special fun day - I make lots of heart shaped stuff - cookies maybe, but definately heart shaped pizza - and I cut out a lot of heart shaped paper and tape them all over - No coupons - its the thought that counts!! Then we have a bottle of special bubbly!! (a glass if its during the week, on a weekend we may drink the whole bottle!!) DH doesnt like that my birthday is so close to Christmas, and then wham another gift giving holiday? VD? no - just remember me throughout the year and I'm good!!
