My classes are still gone! Argh! I can't even email my instructors.
Stupid computer!
I called the helpdesk, but the people that have to help are in a different division and aren't there on the weekends.

I can still do my papers since I know the assignments, but I still don't wanna!

Here! Hear!
ha.

I'd live in Thompsons Station, not Thompson's Station.
But most people don't put the apostrophe in now.
In fact, some people just say it's Thompson Station.
I still get my mail.

And female?

Oh, almost forgot. Yesterday was Hotel for Dogs Birthday party.

12 - 7 year old guests to the movie at $7 per
11 - Snack packs at $3 per, Thankfully one kid has allergies and brought his own snacks
3 - Chaperone tickets at $10 per, I THINK, probably mistakenly, that they bought their own sodas
1 - hour room rental - $25, $50 since we included 2 pitchers of soda and a 14 year old "room mother"
12 - Goody Bags featuring a plush dog, of course, $10 per
1 - Dog Hotel Themed Cake, $55
1 - present from us, I have NO IDEA what we bought him or how much it cost (ignorance is bliss)
12 - presents from the other 7 year olds ranging from what I think is a regifted 4 Connect game to a really cool and I think expensive game for his Wii
1 - irate phone call from the mother of a boy in his class who has behavioral issues and who did not make the list at my son's FATHER's insistence (how is that for apostraphe use?)

1 - wife who wanted to invite the kid and is now ticked off at my son's father for having to take the heat from the agrieved mom of the uninvited juvenile delinquent terrorist in training, while I was at the CASINO.

I think I could go on but you are getting the idea.

seeing bdg take a trip to the doghouse.........priceless:p

BDG - I guess my invite got "lost in the mail"

ah the days of bday parties - do they really remember them with as much fondness 20 years later? Thanks for the price of the cake - I thought the Disney cake was too much!

DD (12) school is going to send me thru the roof - I was so not happy I emailed dd social worker and cc'd the superintendent of schools, I was probably too sarcastic, and I'm sure i''ll regret it... too bad! She got up for Saturday school and got sent home because she didnt have tape - for a science lab... this is one... (insert cuss word here) ________ of a teacher, that needs to be kicked to the curb - but oh how she tried to butter me up when I was ready to lash out at her! :sad2:

Happy belated birthday to the little B!
Happy belated birthing day to the Mrs. B!

:rotfl2:

Really, B - you don't even know what you got him? :sad2:

I remember my 12th birthday party at THE skating rink very well.
Yay cel mama!
I also got my pretty pretty emerald ring at that party.

Sandy - :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: That's ridiculous. I realize they need to teach responsibility, but I'm sure they had tape in the building somewhere.

FYI, I did brush and floss and use Listerine. It was just "a day", if you know what I mean.

So here's another time-suck: My mother, who is 65, and in ill health is coming to live with us on Feb. 13th. We're preparing our home to be user-friendly for her. Now, when she came to "help" when my babies where born, I almost became an alcoholic (NOT really). Now, I'm trying to have a positive attitude and find the many blessings involved of the whole thing, but...

So you who pray, pray this will be a blessing for our whole family. She really has never been around my kids, so it that may be a start of something good. Or not. :upsidedow

Uma :grouphug: Really! I've not posted all the miracles that have been sent my way thru all my son's ordeal, but solid reminder that God is Control was sent my way more than once! Prayers to you as well as Blessings! I know when DH's grandparents came to live with his parents, they did set boundaries - as in "This is grandparents living space, you may not enter without their permission" Now his 2 younger siblings have a different perspective of it all! :grouphug:

Well I know we shouldnt "Drunk Text" and I'm sure that applies to "mad emailing" as well - :sad2:

but - I got a reply from both the super and the social worker - telling me to rest assured they've got it covered!! At least I trust those two! and they know i'm ready to throw the 6th grade teachers out the window! (as well as take their place!)

:grouphug: Been there, it's not easy. It didn't last long for us, because her main problem was her mind. I remember going and getting bedding and curtains(former kids room), and having this Pollyanna-esque idea that we were going to make her as comfortable as possible with us, and let her know that she had her own space. It didn't last long. Her dementia spiraled out of control in the next few weeks, to point that she was getting up in the middle of the night ranting about imagined things. Finally, she had to move to an Assisted Living apartment. She wasn't thrilled about that at first, but came to accept it and like it there, as she made friends. Of course, the dementia often would set in, and then, poor DH was the anti-Christ. She was doing pretty well there until this Fall when her health started to take a downward turn. We prayed that she would survive through the holidays and that prayer was answered. She passed away on the 18th.

You have my prayers of strength, and that you and your family will be able to adjust to the changes with compassion and humor. At some point, you have to laugh because the alternative is to cry and that just doesn't help as much.

Wendy, I can relate somewhat. My mom came to visit every year for 20+ years for 6-8 weeks. She cooked though. The kids and DH loved having her around. It drove me nuts, as she wanted to go out shopping and all I wanted was to stay home. And she speaks limited english, so every night it was movies. I'm not a big movie person. I had to keep her company every night.
She can't travel anymore more now at almost 95, so it's my turn to go visit. I limit myself to a week or 10 days. My brother stops in 2 or 3 times a day though, he's an angel (as opposed to angle).
I'm thinking of going in May for her 95th birthday.

Make sure she has a cable TV in her room, and remember, this is YOUR life.
I hope she has or develops a good relationship with your kids. It may all work out. Maybe the kids will give a new will to live and make her feel better.

Sending you lots of pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

13 going on 30 is like the cutest movie ever!
it's adorable!
Could jennifer garner with her dimples be any cuter? :confused3

Moo, Pumba, where are you?

I need to head to bed on account that DD is planning on having breakfast with DH and FIL at IHOP. And I need to find out about her new BF. Or I could wait till she comes to clip coupons. At any rate, I set alarms, not that that ever does much good.

So I will see how it goes......

I am here.....

I was reading back to earlier this month trying to see if I had posted about Megara stealing a chicken thigh bone and down her throat in one gulp.....not a bite in it......so anywho....she was ill on tuesday......once.....then she was ill on thursday ..once...then she was ill this morning early (my husband took her out in the back yard to go potty)...so is this the bone or is something else wrong.....I will call the vet tomorrow morning.......she is eating fine and that is not what comes up......just bile....sorry to be so graphic..but we worry about this baby of ours so much..
I told hub this morning that no more babies.....I remember when Jasmine had cancer and we were so upset. We said no more animals when she was put to rest. But the love they give us is so great. We waited almost two years before we got Megara...She is such a good baby...and she loves us so much.

so anywhoooooooo.......today is Sunday and I sit here missing mass ...no excuse.....

Wendy - I will be praying that your situation will be a blessing. You are a wonderful daughter to take her in like that though. I always say my Mom is going to have to go stay with the daughter with the grown children, which is why we keep having them. ;)

pumba - how long ago did she swallow the chicken bone?
I'd think if it was more than a week, it's something else.

me and riley went for a two mile walk yesterday at the park. I never start walking from home because I don't want him to think he's allowed on the road - so I always drive somewhere and then walk.
so I just let him and little man out -
and where do I find him?
on the road. :sad2:
I made him march his butt in here and get in his crate.
It took several minutes because he doesn't come running in when he knows I'm mad, but he came.
Little man kept going down the road.

If I get this job, I won't be traveling anymore, so I'm thinking of getting a another westie when I get back from Disney World.

the new church I've been going to is having a chili cookoff after the second service, so I'm going to stick around for that and try to talk to some people.
I still haven't finished my paper, but I've been working on it here and there.

Be back in a minute with a bible verse. I gotta see what speaks to me this morning.
(Pumba - see - we can have mini mass right here!)

Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumsised or uncircumsised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all and is in all. Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:11-14

I miss you and love you, Melinda! :grouphug:
