P.J.-- I love the white and denim theme. At least she didn't say bathing suits.

Well the tree is standing in the corner and the kids are bugging to decorate it now. I told them they have to wait until their father comes home to put on the lights that is his job. I will let them do the whole thing this year. I will sit back and watch. I am tired from cleaning two rooms thoughly to put up the Christmas stuff. A lot of going up and down the basement stairs too.

Wonder if Buddy will try to climb the tree this year.

WOW that sounds amazingly boring. Knitting meeting?? Really???

Well, not really if you think about it. A bunch of women getting together while chit-chatting.... like a kaffee klatsch. Knitfreak has several a week, with different people. Did I ever mention that one of knitfreaks friends is blind? True, a blind knitter!!!
And knitfreak knits while at the movie theater. She truly earned that name!

And knitting meets arent the only thing, there are also fiber festivals. Where you can buy fiber to be hand dyed and spun by hand (with a spinning wheel, she has 2) to be transformed into handmade knitted socks or other items.
Whilst wearing Pioneer costumes. Handmade, of course, complete with caps and aprons. And wearing handknit homespun and dyed knitted socks....
And there is weaving....... And Pioneer Days...

Wendy, maybe I should hook you two up for your Xmas church party, LOL!

Just no end to the fun! Oh, and she said her DF wants to learn how to knit too. At least to see what it's like :rolleyes1 Plus she said that "knitting is who I am" HUH???? What do you say to that??? I didnt say anything, cause I didn't know how to respond to that.

PJ, good luck with the Thanksgiving family fun. We seem to have division this year too, 2 seperate events. My SIL left my BIL in January, so now there is no common ground. We used to all go to BIL's house. Niece and nephew each are hosting, and DD is invited to both, most likely to go with the younger crowd, while we will go with the older. Don't know what DS will do yet.

Hopefully they will all come to our house for Christmas (although I would LOVE to cancel that, but DH would never hear of that)

LilG, yikes that neighbor of yours sound creepy!!!

Nabbie, I remember when my brother and I decorated the tree. We took handfuls of lametta and threw it on the tree. We thought it was great fun. (Mind you, he is 12 years older than me!). My mom made us take it all off and hang it on the tree one strand at a time......

You know what, Hollywood did actually threaten navy underwear and a white bra if we won't choose a new outfit scheme. :rotfl: I told her there's something slightly less than family friendly about that. Hope you're having a nice evening getting the Christmas decor up! :goodvibes I was just wondering if I should get a Christmas tree.

Okay, I guess I can see how it could potentially be fun. However, I think I'll pass on the fiber festival. :lmao: That made me giggle. Heh.
One of the kids in my class is blind in one eye. Her mom is legally blind. She came in to speak to the kids on Thursday about what the life of a blind person is like. Perhaps I'll email her and ask if she enjoys knitting. :scratchin

Family should be here soon....

Glad you popped in, Lex! Yay for your upcoming trip with Mimi :yay: LOLing about her WDW indoctrination. Hope she had a nice birthday.

bbn - The puppy oops happened right before we got home from the airport. DH drove on the way home and he drives my little car like he drives his truck, which resulted in a less than smooth ride. I drove my car today and it wasn't too stinky, so I must have gotten most of the yuck out. I think I'm going to buy one of those little carpet cleaning machines and give it another once over though.

Peej - No need to clean for drop-in family  Hope they keep the drama level low once you arrive. I think the denim with white sounds crisp looking. I've probably seen more group photos where people wear all denim.

Brownies? Yummmmmmm.

Nabbie - I'm not really feeling like putting up a tree this year. Decorating the tree sounds like a goog project for your kids. Hope Buddy doesn't try to climb it this year!

LilG - I see that both Michigan and MSU got clobbered today :scared: But I guess both losses were pretty much expected.

Pumba - I think staying home in your warm bed was the right move this morning :lmao:

Marita - That's kind of cool that knitfreak's DF is taking such an interest in her life. How does she feel about reciprocating?

Is lametta tinsel or angel hair?

Oh, Tinsel, the silver stringy stuff.
And I don't know about knitfreaks reprocicating, I really have not heard anything about his interests, other than his adopted daughter :confused3 I think that is the biggest part though, she is very focused on including his daughter in the wedding, so I guess she is doing good on that front. The daughter and her husband are to be 2 of the 4 people holding the sticks of the "Choupa", or whatever it is called. The other 2 her brother and SIL. And there are to be empty chair for important deceased people at the table, like her brother and his grandparents. (His idea)
How about about all that planning detail 4 weeks after first meeting in person????????? And about 2 months after first email contact.

My contribution to the Thanksgiving dinner is to be wine, the offical word! :dance3: No cooking!
My Niece in law is a fabulous cook, so I know everything will be great. I would hate to bring something unbefitting. Wine I can do! :thumbsup2

My father in law just drools over anything she does, it's too funny! A family joke by now even. Maria (from Spain) hangs the moon for him!

My ad at the bottom of the page is "I want LUXURY yarn - alpaca direct!"
:lmao:
:lmao:

I've been reading, just not much to say.
I went to the twilight lexicon movie event today. It was fun and I liked the movie more than I thought I would.
Now I'm "watching" rocky balboa with Bill and riley.
It's ok when I'm not making fun of him being old and talking all weird.

WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOTY.......on your milestone post..........YIPPEE...

I read the post earlier about the tinsel and I knew that it was that because we would throw it on the tree too and my father ....bless his heart....would take it off and do each strand separate.........we stopped using it when we started to raise cockatiels.....we didnt want their wings stuck in the tinsel and get cut....and then we had a dang cat (Sir Chester Yak of Pearl Harbor) Yak well he would chew on it and all we needed was a cat with poop on a string......Rofl....our first doggie did that and then we got new red bows on the tree......

/
mine is on christmas trees galore.....wonder if it has something to do with our posts that we do.....

Pumba and Cel, look back up, I editied to add more unimportant stuff, LOL!

I have Christmas Trees Galore on the top and Luggage Guy on the bottom.

Hi, Cel! Glad to hear that you liked the movie better than expected.

Luggage guy? On the bottom of what? Oh, nevermind, ads I guess?

I have the whole Enchilada to Mexico on top and Cheap Car Rentals on the bottom.

Just on the news: Twilight movie, based on openening day results, is expected to bring in $75 million for opening day weekend. I think the prediction was $60 million before.

Decided to go see Twilight tonight.

Alone.:goodvibes

It was a nice ME night.

I liked it, and can't wait to see Jacob aged. I think they casted someone who could really grow into his shoes. He had theeeeeee BEST smile.

Yay for you Mony!

I might have to do that too this week, unless I can talk one of the kids into going with me and bribe them with popcorn.
I wasn't all that fond of Jacob until the later part of the books (but before the baby part, that's kind of creepy)

Maybe I can talk DS into dinner and a movie night when he comes home Tuesday (yeah, right, fat chance, LOL). But a mom can dream.........

Pumba- Thanks! You just reminded me to de-frost my 16 pounder. I think I need to clear a spot in my fridge first.
