Howdy everyone!

I decided to do important adult things today instead of play. :o)

I rearranged my family room, moved my sewing table and cleaned it and moved the dining room table. Plus I vacuumed, did laundry, cut out some soaker and fleece pants patterns and sewed a pair of pants and a soaker. Plus I took care of the kids and made dinner. What a productive day.

I am going to treat myself tomorrow. My sisters and I are going to the 11:45am showing of Twilight! Woot!

Congrats on a productive day, MP.

Woot on going to see Twilight tomorrow to you and Wendy!!!!
My DD said a while ago she would go with me to see it, but she is off to Georgia this weekend for a Lacrosse game, and I bet next weekend will be packed with people off for the Holiday, plus my DS will be home (YAY)! so it may be a while. Our local paper gave the movie a 3 out of 5 rating.

Sure has been slow here lately.

Lexi and Sandy,
where are you??????? Miss you!

I heard on the radio today that Disney is redoing Beauty and the Beast in 3D for a 2010 release, but I haven't heard or read anything official on that.

Looks like today was a busy day for a lot of people. 'Tis the season!

A little something for Peej:

We're supposed to get some more of the white stuff tonight.

Nabbie - Sounds like you got dumped on. I'm not really ready for winter yet.

Good idea, Nab! Gain weight to fit your dress! ;)

We had SEP's (parent/teacher coferences) last night and my kids are doing "OK". Mr. Riley is the B+ king and Dallen is having huge trouble focusing and staying "on task". His teacher is the 3rd or 4th one in a row that thinks he may be ADDish. Gee, wonder if I should look in to this further with his Dr. :confused3

PJ? Thoughts?

Anyone read Denis Leary's "Why We Suck... A Feel Good Guide To Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid"? Just saw this on the Today Show and am wondering if it's THAT controversial.

Coming from a mom with a son who has ADD, I wish I would have done something earlier than I did. Waiting and hoping he'd "grow out of it" really set him back.

What's the worse that can happen? They can tell you yes or no. Then you decide on a treat ment plan. At least you KNOW what's going on.

I also feel that teachers really know what they are talking about.

I never felt like anyone wanted my son medicated or anything, just that we finally knew what we were dealing with.

morning everyone in Peep Land.......it is sunny today and I am sitting here waiting for the egg lady to come.......She only has two dozen for me today as the chickens are not pleased with the time change or the cold weather......the chicks are free range chicks.....meaning they walk around outdoors and then lay where they want to..The eggs are so good....dark dark yolks and good tasting......everyone that has had them agrees...

The four of us that are going to Disney will decide on where to eat for ts restaurants when the opening starts that a person can call. The birthday "girl" wants Crystal Palace like we did when we went the last time in April. I WANT Le Cellier and Biergarten. And then we will decide if we need to be eating sit down restaurants each day.......there are alot of places we like that are not sit down......Like Cosmic rays and The Land......Mexican in Epcot.....you know junk food....ROFL.

The egg lady came and the chicken gave us another dozen eggs......they are blue shells......different chickens and different feed produce the blue shells and the dark dark yolks......

Hubby and son and some other guys went hunting today.....hubby is off until the First of December.....he loves hunting as does our son and our granddaughter (daughters offspring-hahaha) as our sons two little rug rats are still to young....2 and 4.... I love to go hunting too but ..

it is only 18 out and this at 8:30 AM.....so imagine what it will be like on a mt or out in a ridge with the wind blowing ......naaaaaaaa.......to cold for me...
I know i am getting old.....cause I hate the cold weather.....

Megaras boo boo is not to bad today......the cut under her eye is doing good and the scrape down her leg is also scabbing over....My poor baby.....she slipped on ice going onto the back porch to come in the house and I didnt tell her to be careful cause it is slippery......she knows that word.....hubby tells her during the winter time when it is slippery......

she slept with us last night and commenced to pushing me out of my space....I yelled at her around 3 am and told her to move over......all I got was a little grunt and a grrrrr.......a very tiny one......

hope you all have a great day......
:grouphug:

Hi Moovers. How is everyone?

DD is home sick today with the stomach flu. She is definitely wuckety. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she doesnt pass it along to everyone in the household.

A bunch of the nurses at work and I will be going to see "Twilight" on Monday. Girls night out. woot!

DTD: Thanks for the history on Coach Crean. I didnt know all of that.:thumbsup2 Idk if you've watched the Hoosiers play yet or not. The won their first two games, but gosh they looked rough. His work is cut out for him, but I have confidence in him.

Be well y'all.

Happy Twilight Day!

Jordan took his DGF to see it at midnight last night/this morning. Soooo, I called his cell phone (which is with him downstairs :thumbsup2 )at 6AM to wake him up and ask him how it was. He said it was LOUD (fans) but good. He didn't hardly mind being the only male in the theater.

/
One of my daycare moms went last night and she wanted to talk to about it soooooooo badly but I told her she couldn't ruin anything for me.

This is just my luck:

Have crock pot for 10 years and use it maybe 4 times.

Discover what a joy it is to have with my busy schedule these last few months and use it all the time.

Today I was using it and didn't know the cord was inbetween the bowl and base and it's a gonner.

It set the tripper off in the fuse box and all kinds of craziness this late morning.

Typical.

I am hoping there is a future viewing of Twilight for me. Maybe even tonight.

Just me.

Alone.

sigh.

Pumba -- we are having the same weather this morning. It was 18 , colder with the wind chill factor. It is now 21 that is the high for the day. Kids were bundled up today.

Nicholas even wanted to go before school and work on there snow fort. The snow now is too hard for that.

Mony-- I only bring my crock pot out when I am making chili. And the kids won't even eat that. Put it on your Christmas list....that is what my hubby would say.

This year I told him I don't want anything. I really don't need anything and we are going on a trip and I got my new kitchen. He says the same. I think I will get him candy. I gave him a heart attack yesterday when I thought I lost one of my diamond earrings. It was laying on the bathroom floor by the tub. Must have pulled it out drying my hair. It has a screw on back and post so don't really know how I lost that.

Better get back to de cluttering the rooms so I can set my tree and other Christmas decorations this weekend.

Last edited by NAB : Today at 01:12 PM. Reason: I must be the only one not excited about the Twlight movie...lol Haven't read the books either.

Same here nab. I haven't read the books. And I don't remember the last time I saw a moovie in a theater. I can wait for it to hit dvd. Then I probably won't remember I want to see it anyway. It saves money that way.

Yesterday was my Giving Birth Day. Grasshopper is one year old! We are celebrating today with ingredient free cake. It is ingredient free not because we have allergies or I am a health nut or a vegan or anything like that. Simply I haven't been to the grocery store. I was going to go this afternoon but our morning was consumed with the big One Year doctor visit and gymnastics. Now the Birthday Boy is passed out. Only 3 shots and boy was he mad. However his real party will be in a couple of weeks at Disney World

Speaking of a couple weeks, I have so much to dooooo. I need to start packing. Of course that requires doing laundry first. :laundy:

In response to MP's question yesterpage: Gabe did fine with my little jaunt out of town. He has been a bit more clingy since I got back (it now occurs to him that I might be leaving).

Monica- my crock pot is semi broken too... the knob split and fell off. So it works you just need pliers to turn it on & off and I never trust that it is the right temperature. I am having one of those days myself. Just remember that you are awesome to even attempt the whole business owner/wife/mother of FOUR/student thing. Anyway- crock pots are $15 at walmart this week. Don't put it on your list, just go get one. It is cheaper than going to mcdonalds just once because you are too busy to cook.

In other news- I got a very part time job. :cheer2: So soon you will be regaled with the witty sayings of my students. Of course I don't know yet what I will be teaching. I start next semester.

Lil Twinkerbell (aka cleft palate princess) is having FOUR teeth pulled on Monday. Does anyone have experience with this? Should the Tooth Fairy do more that 4 $? Is that fair to the other kids?

twinks - I think the tooth fairy should give the standard rate.
I had teeth pulled as a kid and it was a much easier process than the wiggling around.

BTW, I finally started "Parenting in the Pew" and I love it!
thank you for recommending it!

Hi to everyone else.
I'm off to the breadman's for a month.
he thinks I'm moving out after Christmas, but I'm hoping to change that. :rolleyes1

Twilight was AWESOME!

I cannot wait for the next one!!

Happy 1st Birthday to Gabe!!!

Celery, Best of Luck with that, and I do mean that

Twinky, YAY for the job! :cool1: Congrats to grasshopper on his birthday!

Pumba and Nab, BRRRRRRRR that's cold!! Glad I'm not there.
Nab, should feel like spring here to you when you come down. High of 68 today, and that was pretty cold.

Mony, I have a crockpot I'm not using. Leftover from DD's old BF who gave it to her on loan until whenever. Since he broke up and lives 2 hours away now, it is probably now permanently part of the household. If anyone has any good crockpot reciepies, please forward.

I have Twilight movie envy! Not likely I will see it anytime soon. I haven't been to a movie in years (I prefer sitting on my couch) , but I really want to go see this one. There is so much excitement around it.

MommyP, the second movie is probably at least 2 years away, if they even do one. I read somewhere it's not even in planning (officially). By the time the do the 4th (if they do), Bella will be 30, LOL.

Today is the anniversary of my Giving Birth day. DD turned 24 today.

Everyone

wow alot of November babies going around.....today is my nieces birthday...she was a six month birth and weighed in at 2lbs 2 ounces.....she was a little bit of a thing.....love her to pieces as now she is 36. My baby son will be 39 on Turkey Day this year and our God daughter will be 38 on turkey day this year....they are cousins and were born a year apart...My son was actually born on Turkey day 1969...he is a great son and can bring tears to my eyes .actually both of our kids are so great......our daughter and our son are great kids and love to be around us......they like to go places with us and even GO TO DISNEY with us.....I could sniffle right now....but I wont.

Hubby came home from hunting frozen solid....he is going tomorrow with the same group we always go with.......I shall sleep in tomorrow and maybe do some PreChristmas cleaning....always good to have a clean area to put up the tree...

Have a good friday night everyone

So much for Global Warming! Almost had record colds here too.

On a totally unrelated note, I stopped at a store tonight, and when I went to get in the car, there was a spider running very fast on the floor on the driver side. He disappeared under the seat before I could smack him to pieces. I change into sandals and bare feet when I leave work to drive home, so the entire 30 minutes I had left to drive, I was in fear of the spider crawling on my foot, causing a huge accident.
I feel sorry for him (or her), but I hope he dies overnight!

Great, a rotting spider corpse in my car, YUCK!

Can't remember , are you a New Year's Eve baby?
Yes ma'am. Of course my birthday would be a national holiday. It's fitting, no?

Now this a funny thought! Not so far, we had wedding dress discussions today, so far I she is planning on buying, but wear a knit lacy navy shawl over the white dress. Which sounds kind of odd to me, but whatever.... And knit lacy shawls for her brides maid(s) as a gift.
I personally think you should encourage her to knit her wedding dress. Then, take pictures of it so we can all see how ridiculous it looks! Wait. That's mean. And I, of course, am sweet and nice. I take it back. You can pass this her way though...

we have our air and our room for april
YIPPEE........yes I am going to disney .....with hubby and sil and bil......can hardly wait..
WOOHOO!!!!!
:dance3: :cheer2: :yay: :cool1:
Now you have something to get you through the cold and snow! :goodvibes

I'm going to Cincy the second week in December and I'm scared there will be snow! ack!
You skeered of a little snow? I believe Hollywood is coming home the second week of December as well. Wait. Did you 2 coordinate that? :scratchin
p.s. my whole family is in Nashville tonight. At least my mom, my sister, my grandpa, and a couple of aunts, uncles, and cousins. They're all heading down to the big Thanksgiving hoopla and decided to spend the night there.

We had SEP's (parent/teacher coferences) last night and my kids are doing "OK". Mr. Riley is the B+ king and Dallen is having huge trouble focusing and staying "on task". It certainly can't hurt. Even though obviously you know your child better than his teacher, his teacher sees him everyday in situations in which he is asked to sit still and concentrate often for extended periods of time. It makes sense that that's where the ADD would manifest itself. If I were you, I would take the next step (whatever that is in your district) in getting him evaluated. Can't hurt, might help. :flower3:

Ah yes, our evil plan has worked!!!

Thank you. That cake looks just like the one I made for Jr Jr Jr Jr Jr. ;) I like the knickname.

Also thanks for the EXCELLENT idea. Maybe I will get a new facebook identity called Dr Twinkessori and I WILL friend all my students. That way I can see if they are online chatting when they should be working. Double heh.

Pictures may appear here briefly and soonishly.

I actually mentioned to knitfreak that someone asked about her knitting her dress. She quite seriously replied that she was not planning to, but has known people who have! :rotfl: And that she is planning on wearing her knitted lacy shawl over her wedding dress (how many times have I heard that????????)

In an effort to keep you all abreast of knitfreaks love life (I know you care, right? Right??????) She was torn this week about going to her knitting meetings and straightening her apartment for HIS visit this weekend. Apparently he is a bit of a cleanfreak. Knitfreak and Cleanfreak, LOL!
Anyway, she felt compelled to go to her knitting meets first, to show off her ring and tell her stories....

Her friends are going to knit her a "Hoopa" (apologies to anyone jewish, I dont know how it is spelled), the canopy type thing held over the couple at Jewish wedding. Although they will just have a civil ceremony (she is not Jewish). And he wants to do the breaking of the glass too.
Sorry, you probably dont care to hear that stuff about a stranger!

That would make you not cool. And I thought we were going for cool. It would also make their "I was too busy to study because __________" excuses not go over quite so well. On second thought, don't friend them.

I bet they were....beautiful?
