* note..this, i 'm busy
passing on..to the new nurses...under my direction...., one from
germany..backstage gal, blond & blue eyes..the guys really
give her alot of attentions..ahhhh, human nature?

how did i get..this old?

Lil G, unfortunately, I am neither blonde nor blue-eyed, quite the contrary :headache:

And I totally agree on the "how did I get this old?" sentiment! :scared:

Talked to my mom today, she was feeling a lot better than last time I talked to her. She said she forgot to call me last week, because she went out for coffee and cake on Sunday afternoon. Which is fabulous, cause last time I talked to her, she said she could barely walk, and now she made it down those nasty winding stairs.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I have to finally break down to do a horrible thing! :laundy:

Dang now my dishwasher broke down. Can't get a guy to come until Thursday and then he is only going to look for the problem and will probably need to order a part. :headache:

I also need to get some more Christmas shopping done. Hannah is easy, Nicholas wants Guitar Hero World Tour which is really hard to get and high in demand for the Wii. First he wanted Rock Band 2 until he seen this one, maybe that one will do.

Marita-- you are not blue eyed and blonde. Well you could be Blonde if you wanted to be. Did you ever get your glasses straighten out?

Moo-- I am hoping the instructor will let him go because the flights are non refundable. He has seen this material before so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Not that I wouldn't love to join you in WDW.:goodvibes

Thanks, Lil G for that voice of reason!
I'm sure you meant you don't hate dresses, but hate wearing dresses, right?
We ARE the same, all of us. You nailed that on the head.

Thinking about my new discovery that my favorite aunt is SO racist has really been bugging me. I feel so let down. What should I do LilG??

Have I told you (or anybody) I'm looking into the RN program here? GAH! I was almost set on the dental hygiene program. It's about the same time so I'm doing lots of research.
I'm excited and scared to death to go back to school. I'm a little OLD to be doing this but I feel good about being able to stay home with my kids while they were young. These days, women reaaaaally need a degree, just in case AND to add to the household income. Doing daycare won't cut it, I'm afraid.

Norah was the kid in the choir today yell-singing. :lovestruc

Wendy, GO GET IT. Whatever you want to do! You are young!
Took me 10 years to get my degree at night school. But worth it! You will love whatever you decide to do!

Wendy Lou WhO, GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do it for YOU! Although sometimes (or a a lot) work sucks.Although I think having a good colorist as a friend would work for me too. I need one!

Nab, I hear you on the dishwasher. I threw in a bunch of towels and stuff in then washer and it kept stopping. Finally took out some towels, but it still kept stopping  And it runs forever. I have like 3 more loads to do, but DD insists she needs to wash her stuff, since she is visting DS on Tuesday,.

Anyway, now I have about 4 sopping wet towels sitting on the garage floor.

And a bunch of dirty laundry waiting to be washed. Which will not happen tonight. DD just passed by with a basketful of laundry,,,,

Lil G, MSU is doing well. I'm sure I'm going to hear about it at work tomorrow

Nab, hope your hubby is able to get out of his class for your cruise!

Wendy, I agree with Marita about going for it. One of my high school friends is in a nursing program right now and we're 10 years older than you ::yes:: Nurses are in pretty high demand these days.

The numbers of the old and decrepit keep growing and growing........ There is a fortune to be made in nursing. My mom has 3 per day visiting. Although catering to my mom when I went, I have to say, I dont think that's my cup of tea. But obviously, lots of people like helping old folks, which is a wonderful thing and I am very very grateful for them! Especially as I am fast joining the ranks of the decrepit.

Both are good options Wendy.

Lex- w00t on booking a trip.

I hope MP gives us a trip report when she gets bACK. And that the hotT college chick and snarkgirl post details for those of us who just stayed home and did :laundy: this weekend.

NAB- I hope Mr. NAB can arrange to make the cruise. :wizard:

Mony- Glad you guys got a little break! Sounds like fun.

Hi everybody else. Life is crazy busy here on the prairie.

My psychology paper is D-O-N-E!!!!

I had to interview an immigrant about adjusting to American culture.

Then I had to use what we have been learning from the text and incorporate all of the terms and how it relates to my subject. It was only 6 pages, but I had a lot of yes and no answers from her.

First of all, everybody.

Second, snarkgirl and her dh were "toadily" kewl. we had a great time. more info and pics to come. Lynette and I made a deal that all pics must be at least kind of sort of approved by the other person before posting, so I am awaiting her kind of sort of approval. (it's just a formality. the pics will be posted. hee hee)

so while we wait for lynette to drink her 64 oz. morning java, i will enthrall you with pics of me, the dh, and Mr. King. (pretend to be impressed and noone gets hurt)

The Stephen King meet was an awesome experience. A donation to a local food bank enabled us to go to a private reception for a few hours before the book signing to meet him and Richard Russo (he wrote 'Empire Falls' among other books). There were only a handful of these tickets to the private reception. Securing these by phone was harder than getting a table at Cinderella's castle for breakfast, but we did it!!! The dh has loved Stephen King since he read one of his books way back in the 6th grade, so this was more for him than me.

At first I kind of stood back, surveying the scene, and allowing other bigger king fans a chance to go up and talk to him etc, but the reception was so small, I realized I would have plenty of time to get some time to talk to the man himself. So I did. What's funny is I was more nervous about meeting Lynette than I was about meeting Stephen King.

Sooooo, I marched myself right up to him, stuck out my hand and said "Hello, I'm Elisabeth. It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. King" and ya wanna know what he said???? Tune in next week.....j/k

Fine! he said "Why you are beautiful"

and I said

and he said "AND that's a beautiful dress you're wearing"

and I said "But, but..."

and then he said "OH. It's not a dress!" he looks me up and down "the top was so lovely I thought it was a dress, but no it's an ummm"

and I said "It's an ensemble!"

and he said "ensemblUH!" and kind of waved his hands magically before me as if to say 'TA DA' and then he laughed.

and then I said "Do you mind if I get a picture with you?"

and he said "Mind? why not at all. it would be a pleasure"

HOW NICE IS THAT? Mr. Spookyman, wasnt so spooky. He was nice and polite and gentlemanly.

so then whenever we would bump into each other again, he would say "HEY. It's the ensemble girl" or "Hey ensemble girl"

and what was I to do but to gloat to the dh that even though he is the bigger King fan, I was the one to come away with a KnicKname.:rotfl:

then we went to an auditorium and there were about 1000 people there and a moderator asked the two authors questions for about an hour and a half and THEN we got our book signed and of course when I went through the line Stephen (I feel comfortable calling him that now, cuz we are bff's:upsidedow ) once again called me "ensemble girl"

What if thats the name of his next book???? what if his dedication reads "To Ensemble Girl. We met only briefly, but you were the inspiration for this story"

and then the story is about a freaky cowgirl from Indiana who goes around setting up meet and greets with disboard people and they suddenly vanish. never to be heard from again. btw, has lynette posted since the meet?????:rolleyes1

*thank you. have a nice day*

And can I be serious for just a minute? We went on the Freedom Walk around Boston. This is where you walk around the city, and see various historical sites such as Paul Revere's home, Ben Franklins school, etc.

We stopped at a church along the way. George Washington had been there a few times, among other Patriots. There were people from the Mayflower buried in the church cemetary. We went into the little church and were the only ones in there, and let me tell you it had me choked up to go up to the alter and kneel for a few moments where the forefathers of this great nation had knelt and to think of how many had passed through the doors of that little church and gave their lives so that we might enjoy all that we have today. It was very touching.

Here's a pic of the church.
boston066-1.jpg

and what's a trip to Boston without one of the Harbor. or should I say HAHBAH?

boston048.jpg

and one more that Lynette took, so while you dont see her in the picture, she is there right behind the camera.

boston115.jpg

alrighty, enough. i wont share any of the pics from the Basketball Hall of Fame. Which was loads of fun. But I'm a nice person, and dont want to bore y'all with too many details.

as soon as lynt approves pics, I'll show you guys. We had a blast.:thumbsup2

Have fun Amanda!!!!

Nab- I've never heard of leaf pick up people! Today was trash day and I always feel a little sad tossing the moldy jack o lanterns in the garbage. :guilty: UGH on the homework!!!!

You don't have pick up for your yard trash? Wow. We do, even though they don't come and we wouldn't use them. ;) Since we have only 1 neighbor and the rest of the land is empty we recycle our clippings back into the ground where they belong. Through them into a bush on the empty lot and a few months later they are back in the ground. ;)

I think I would rather deal with people's mouths than their bodily fluids. I would love to be a labor nurse, but I wouldn't want to do the other nurse jobs leading up to that point. :)

Why not go back to being a colorist? My sister made good money doing hair and she only worked at a cheap chain place.

We had a wonderful time. I think we laughed more this weekend than ever before. Most the time when we've gone away in the past(by ourselves) we would end up back in our room ready for bed at like 8pm. lol. But this time we really pushed it. ;)

I'll post more later when I get my pictures uploaded.

I just went through my pictures and was zooming in on the pictures I took of the train going down the hill on EE and my camera(which is being returned this week) is so awesome it got a nip shot of someone who was falling out of their top. LOL! I can't believe that. She should have been wearing a bra. ;)

I'm uploading all my pictures now. Wait until you see Chad's face coming down EE. It's hilarious!

Mommy P-- what kind of camera was that again. The one you posted last of the boys were so great and clear. I am finding our camera is a hit and miss lately.

UMA-- I am with everyone else Go for It!! Me I couldn't be a nurse. I am not the calm person when they see blood, hubby is though.

Babynurse-- love Stephen King books to. The first one I read was the Shining. Scared the pants off me. The movie was terrible. Mind you I like his older stuff better them the new stuff he has wrote.

Holy Cow, BbN! I'm glad I didn't skim your post (not that I'd ever do that). I can't believe it! What a cool thing to have Mr. Spookypants have the hots for you! And the church post gave me the chills. What an honor!

How funny you got a nip shot! Why are you taking back the camera? I love the photographs it's been taking (with your help).

:flower3: ..ahhhh, it so nice to be aaround "normal" people, THAT's funny! I guess normal is subjective. (speaking for myself)

Thank you! I'm more excited than scared now. I figure since our house didn't sell, maybe the door isn't really "closed" for me after all. Just didn't go as I had planned. I just think that career has many more opportunities than dental hygiene does. We shall see!

Hi Moovers..... anyone watching DWTS's tonight????
I'm not really watching that this time around, BH. Mostly at night I'm at the gym like a dork.

Wendy, GO GET IT. Whatever you want to do! You are young!

Is MSU doing as well as Uof U? :cool2:

Thank you! I am all over it. Now how to figure out what to do for money whilst doing school full time. Hmmmm.

Both are good options Wendy.

I hope MP gives us a trip report when she gets bACK. And that the hotT college chick and snarkgirl post details for those of us who just stayed home and did :laundy: this weekend.

Thanks, Nellie!
I want a full TR too! :yay:

Thanks MommyP! Glad you and Chad had a nice time.

Nab his new book is a collection of short stories. My dh has already read it, and we just got it at the book signing! I think it comes out this week or something. The dh says it's really cool.

BH:
I havent been watching Dancing with the Stars. I am all caught up on "survivor" though. DD said Jeff Probst tombstone should read "The Tribe Has Spoken" IDK why I just told y'all that, but it made me giggle.

LilG:
College football? All I will say is IU and UofL suck!!! We have tix to the IU basketball game tomorrow. That right thar is gonna be interesting.

alrighty, I have approval for a couple of LYNETTE/ELISABETH meet pics. Boston didnt know what hit it. The snark was flying. OMGosh we laughed until we cried. We ate at a little Italian restaurant called Trattoria Il Panino. I think it was Italian for "The food is great, but the service sucks" lol The good thing about the service being slow was it gave us more time to chitchat. We were never at a loss for words, were we snarkgirl? And the dh's seemed to hit it off pretty darn well. They talked of manly things like guns and pretty gals and guns and bbq and did i mention guns? ha.

here we are at the restaurant!

boston111.jpg

boston110.jpg

I brought Lynette a little present. The main present was some candy that is well known 'round these parts, BUT how could I not supply her with her very own bumpah stickah??? and since she and the Pope are texting buddies, I thought this one to be appropriate. The plan was to find Lynts car and place them on there, along with an Obama sticker, and take some pics, but alas the plan failed cuz Boston parking sucks. Dangit. How can I be a proper smartypants if the city won't cooperate!!!:upsidedow

boston113.jpg

after we ate, we walked outside and then stopped at a quaint little place for some Italian sweets. YUMMY. We discovered that Joe and I have the same favorite ice cream. (mint chocolate chip) and Joe was very funny-ish. Ok, some of his jokes were corny, but I like a guy who's not afraid to be corny. LOOK! Sweets are behind us!!! *drool*

boston116.jpg

Lynette and I had so much fun. But the evening aint over yet. I have some more pics and Lynt does too. Post away snark sistah!! I'll try to swing back later to finish telling you about our wild and crazy adventures. Feel free to fill in the gaps snarkbritches. 'Cept you dont have to tell EVERYTHING. heh. What happens in Boston stays in Boston?

Wendy - I'm taking it back because we found our other camera. So I don't really need a new camera anymore.

BbN and Lynt- GORGEOUS! Both of yous!!! Sounds like you had fun! OMgosh, I'd freaking LOVE to meet you both!!! IF I wasn't lactose intolerant and too lazy to take Lactaid, my favorite flavor would be a good quality mint and chip too! :3dglasses Spooky coincidence!

MommyP- I love how practical you are. And I know you already answered this (perhaps more than once) but, what model camera is the one you're taking back? I really like the photos you were able to take with it. I have my eye on the Nikon D60 at Costco that also has a great lens but it's a tad too spendy for me these days.

Y'all- OH, get this... Yesterday, during "personal prayer" (as opposed to "family prayer") I nicely mentioned to God the need to have another daycare child (to replace Pooh Girl and BlowOut Boy) and I swear, within 10 mins. the phone rang with a parent needing childcare full time.:woohoo: I love when it's an obvious answer to a prayer like that. :cloud9: See, when I have no openings, I get calls ALL the time so I didn't think it would be that long before filling my empty spots (I only have 4 spots). But I hadn't gotten any calls for a loooong time. Maybe it had something to do with the big blaring sign that was in my front yard? :confused3 LOL. But, really, people don't see my house before meeting me, so it truly was an awesome answered prayer. This family just left my house for our "interview" and I think I'm starting very very soon with this adorable 10 mo. old GIRL. Yayyy! What a relief with Christmas coming. :santa:
