Ok, I think it is dangerous to be in the Allie household right now. Don't come for a visit if you don't want something to break. ;) Ok, here is the list of things that have broken since Monday:

The microwave

DS XBOX 360 - red ring of death (If you have a kid with a 360, you know what I'm talking about)

My car battery

My Dyson (vacuum)

A leak coming from our water heater (thanks to the huge amts. of rain we got last night ;) )

I feel like there is a black electrical cloud over me right now. :sad2: Although, I am very thankful that I still have my health, and everything that broke is fixable or replaceable. Also, my car died yesterday after dropping DS off at work. Well, I decided I needed some fresh hot french fries, so DD and I accompanied DS into work. When we came back out, put the key in and that infamous....click, click, click, click. Well, of course I tried again just to be sure. ;) :rotfl2: Sure enuf....DEAD! Luckily, as I've said before, we could walk home because it is just acoss the street. Well, on the way home we saw a beautiful rainbow. Must've been a sign that everything is going to be ok. :thumbsup2 Called DH and told him about the car. It actually was better that it got stranded at the restaurant because it was alot easier to jump off than if it had been in our garage. :thumbsup2 First try, I was up and running, and off to the local fix it shop. They got me right in, and 30 minutes later, I had a new battery.

So, if you were considering a surprise drop in visit on the Allie family (which I'm sure you weren't, but thought I would warn anyway ;) :rotfl: ), I would stay as far away as you can right now.

Just looked at my Palm, and realized hair appts. are tomorrow. :headache: I think I need to go back to bed.

ACK! BABYCOW! Don't bug your friend before you read this - the twilight thing is not this saturday - it's the saturday after the movie opens - it's on 11/22. But your friend IS wrong. :)

But the whiny underling is a grad student at Haaahvud, so you'd think there might be a few working brain cells in there somewhere, no?
Why would her parents paying tons of money for her to go to an overpriced school mean that she has brain cells? :confused3
What, Sandy? You thought the debate was boring tonight, my friend??!

:lmao:

Anyone who was playing a drinking game on those two words ended up schnockered tonight

:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1
Why didn't I think of that?
I only watched one hour of the debate - and by the end of that hour I was yelling at the tv telling Mccain he was no friend of mine. :rotfl2:

Allie - how about that rain?
I kept waking up all night thinking we'd left the faucet running!

:rotfl:

I know I have been quiet of late, but that's the way I am when I have lots on my plate (which is a rarity, seeing as how I love to eat:rolleyes:). I have been slightly off my game, as Peej can attest to when she FINALLY talked me into having "supper" with her one night and I did not finish off every last crumb that was placed before me. Just rolling a bunch of thoughts around in my brain, and that's always a dangerous thing. But I hope all you guys are doing well.

Wendy Hope you drop by!! Hows the family? Sewing?
Hoping to stay rather than drop by. My kids are awesome! Dallen's taking violin this year. Norah is in a GREAT (and not "overpriced") preschool. Riley has this horrible teacher that yells too much which I don't know what to do about. And Jordan is mischievous as ever! Sara, his GF, is over much, much more often. Which I love!

I've made progress towards sewing, if that's what you mean. It's all set up and ready to create something fabulous. Norah chose a STORE BOUGHT costume this year: Hannah Montana with wig and headphones :cool2:

I think my next projects will be to finish the Disney quilt I started and do some super fancy aprons for Christmas presents.

Here's the quilt top (when it wasn't sewed). I just need opinions or ideas for the backing!!!!

LilG! Thanks!!!! :lovestruc

I am sixty and I have to show a Tenn. Driver's lic for Sudfed an it is always behind the counter. At Walmart the other day they have a lock on the Spray paint.
Baby formula is behind the counter too.

Electricity went out at 3:40 AM!! I know because it was so quiet in our room, I could hear dh snoring!! :rotfl2: Then I became obsessed!! and couldnt sleep - set the alarm on my phone, put my ipod on and tried to slumber!!

SNORING without "white noise," UGGGGH! pirate:

Today is such an easy day with just Norah and my daycare baby. This baby is not "blow out boy" who's parents never paid and kept coming later and later to pick him and Pooh Girl up. My house is all clean. Chores are all done. I'm actually bored!

Hey everyone! Having quite an amusing day so far! Lemme tell y'all a CBM story. First, I must tell you that he's a paranoid lunatic who locks his office door every time he steps outside that office (even to go to the men's room :sad2: ....Hello? There are only 4 of us here, and we don't get visitors of any sort, so WTHeck? :confused3 ) So earlier today, he went out for coffee and locked his office door on the way out. Unnecessary, but not out of the ordinary. Except for the fact that he forgot to take his keys out of his jacket pocket, which was inside the office. So he spent the last TWO HOURS trying to jimmy the lock with a credit card. And then with a screwdriver and a hammer. Neither of which worked. He finally had to call the building maintenance dude, who had to go thru the ceiling of the adjacent room and drop down into CBM's office. He was thrilled about that!

Hiya, Wendell! Sup? Good to see you around! Love the quilt....it's beeyooteefull!

Allie, sorry about your electronic trauma! Hope things get better!

Melinda, your poor friend. I just cannot even imagine how she must feel. Is she getting help from a therapist?

My poor DH had to attend a wake last night for a friend of his who died unexpectedly late last week. The friend, who was 36, was getting ready for work when he started to have chest pains. His wife called an ambulance, but the friend died en route to the hospital....heart attack. He has a 13 y.o. and a 3 y.o. Such a shame.

BBN, as for my trip to LooUhVull, you KNOW you want in! ::yes::

I just survived parent teacher conferences. Well, I still have a few to do after school Wednesday and Thursday, but I did the bulk of them today. Is there really a nice way to say your child is a pain in the astarstar? Kidding! In order to protect the identities of those involved  I'll spare the details, but one conference turned into a major domestic dispute. :scared1: Things got pretty ugly. Makes you realize what the kids go through at home. My only other issue was when my translator didn't show up for one of my conferences with my ESL kid. That was interesting with my broken spanish and the parents' broken english.

I would like to put in a request for a new title. Please review my request at your earliest convenience and let me know what you come up with.

Those titles expired at midnight on the day that they were passed out.

Based on the days entries I can try to come up with something fabulous as long as you write about something that happened to you just as fabulous.

I can only work with what you people provide me.

Carry on.

Allie - how about that rain?
I kept waking up all night thinking we'd left the faucet running!

It was nice to know that I could sleep in while it was raining. :cloud9: I hate having to go to work in the rain because that means we have to do our "rain car line". We have an overhang, that keeps the kiddos dry, but it is on the opposite side of the church building. :scared: I get my exercise on those days. ;) But alas, I didn't have to get up this morning. :lovestruc

We needed it desperately though, and now it is a relatively nice day. :)

Thanks Lynette, I'm not touching anything electrical today. Now I just have to figure out who to call about my leak. :confused3 Do I call a plumber or a roofer? Since it may be where my water heater comes out on the roof.

Wendy - Thanks for the family update! Hope to "see" you more often. Just don't touch me, when you're around because I am electrically challenged right now. ;)

Hi Monica!

Don't forget about Jacob.

I am sixty and I have to show a Tenn. Driver's lic for Sudfed an it is always behind the counter. At Walmart the other day they have a lock on the Spray paint. I have rolled a yard or 2 forty yrs. ago . I was a Band Member and it was fun to roll othr people houses until mine got rolled and My Dad made me get out at 5 the morning to clean it up. Then the Band Parents got the police to make a fee to pay if you got caught. Hello Celerystalker Jr. Hope you are having a good Fall Break.

Marita Glad you are safe and sound.

I'm so grateful for all the extra information you provided or I would have thought you were a farmer of sorts.

Allie sorry for your troubles. Stay away from water the next few days.

Sandy glad your power came back, cause that could cause a whole load of problems.

We used to fork lawns when were were young and wild and out control.

It was usually done to make a strong statement of sorts.

Allie-- I will stay away from you. At least your computer is still going. We had a power surge last week with a storm and part of the city lost stoves, fridges, anything electrical and want the power company to pay for them. They said no way it was a branch that fell on some wires, it was a nature thing.

Moo-- I would love to type it out but she had to take it back to school signed this morning with a bunch of other papers.

Didn't watch the debate but it did cut my Biggest Loser short by an hour. Hope I remember to watch the second half tonight.

It is raining right now too. But our Thanksgiving Weekend looks to be a beautiful and warm one. It is also the beginning of Oktoberfest on Friday. Lots going on in my Mom's town. Pretzel bread....yum.

Nab- I forgot you have a different Thanksgiving than us! I swear, for a second I stared at the computer thinking, "Gosh, those Canadians can predict the weather wayyyy in advance"

Pretzel Bread is the BEST. Ohhhh Myyyy!
I am as German as you can get (blood wise) without speaking a single word of German or ever having been to the actual non-WorldShowcase "country", but I totally remember celebrating Oktoberfest in my youth. :cool1: I think there was a lot of beer/ale/logger involved.

I watched Biggest Loser too. Geez, I'd hate to be yelled at by Jillian (sp)!
I read that they work out 6 full hours per day!

I did watch the post debate commentary, which is always fun.

I'll wait for the Saturday Night Live version :thumbsup2

I have a problem with the fact that Edward is 17. It disturbs me. I cant really get into the whole "Edward is an awesome hunk of man" way of thinking b/c he's a baby. I know he's a 100 yr. old vampire, but still. He's in a 17 yo body. It's wIerdish for me. Sorry.

Its hard to get excited by the young'uns - I did sport a crush on Robert Redford in my youth - then of course... John Travolta, since then I stick with the real deal!! :rotfl2:

and Edward is 17 - TMC (or dd calls it the old people's movie show! Turner Movie Classics) had Romeo and Juliet - they were 13/14??? in the movie they were 17! :scared1:

blah blah blah...

I'm rambling... and mistyping... I must need slepe :rotfl2:

Wendy Lovely Quilt!! Maybe a mickey mouse blue for the back? DD wants to make a quilt (Did you read that DD got a sewing machine for her bday? From mil - and DD has made lots of stuff!! mainly pillows! one tote bag... and experimented on making an apron - - without a pattern!! Too cute... then she got sick, and its been downhill since then!!

Mony you are too clever!!! How are the test results?

Allie so that's why I lost electricity!! :rotfl2: seriously - :scared1: that's a lot of repair work!! Good thing its cars, not people!! Hows baby doing? Has his meds stablized him? Is his family staying at the hospital with him?

FALL BREAK STARTS TODAY!! :woohoo: 7 days till we go to WDW!!! :cool1: I'm trying to come up with a good cough **cough*lie*explanation*cough To tell the teachers why I'm pulling her out of school for a week!! I overheard teachers in the teacher's lounge... I just want to say... Life is short... and for me, its getting shorter... I have one of those milestone bdays coming up, and this is dd 12 (next year :scared1: teenager)

so have I justified it to ally'all???

Biggest Loserah, so that's why I didnt see who got voted off!!

Dancing with the Stars Poor Macy - that tendon popping gave me nightmares!! and so glad they didnt ask Kim Kardashian back :worship:

Yep, guess I took it all the way up to you. ;) :rotfl2:

Yes, I'm thankful for the "what could've happened" didn't happen. Good thing we didn't go out of town, and have that happen. Good thing it didn't happen at the bowling alley before I took DS to work, and it was pouring down. It could've been a lot worse, so I am very thankful.

Baby Jackson spent some time down in B'ham. In a section where mama and daddy couldn't stay with him. :sad1: Well, he came home Sunday.

He wasn't keeping his formula down, so they were afraid he had a knot in his intestines. NOPE, thank goodness. He has been spitting up quite a bit, and they were giving him his medicine when he ate (just cause it was a convenient time to do so), well, they think that he was spitting up the medicine too, so it wasn't staying in his system. When he was in the hospital, he was hooked up to IV's, so that is why he was better at the hospital. WELL, they are now giving him the meds at a different time, and things seem to be ok for now.:thumbsup2 Let's just pray that he continues to improve. He has had a rough first month of life. :sad2: Thanks for asking.

Hope your fridge is found. The swap that I did in Jan. lost theirs not to long ago, but it was found again. So here's some pixiedust: for yours. At our school, you just have to send in a note ahead of time to say you are going to be gone. We have a certain number of "parent note" days. Meaning, "my child was gone 'cause I said so", kind of days. As long as you get it approved ahead of time, your good. :thumbsup2 Here's some pixiedust: for getting DD out of school next week too!

Utah- I love the quilt too. You could back it with anything.... I think I would pick a starry print. What ever happened with the Pooh Family?

Allie- Sorry about the troubles. Our current electrical troubles are linking to a very little boy who likes to unplug things and push buttons. He has turned off power strips.... including the one to the DVR causing Daddy's show not to be recorded in its entirety.

Mony- So our titles expire? like milk? I'll try to be awesome.

I had/have more comments but the love of my life just walked in.

Thanks Twinks!

Hey I just thought of another blessing. At least I didn't hit a goose! :lmao:

RE: Twilight....I have no problem with thinking a 100 yr old man in a 17 yr old body would be a nearly ideal package.

But.

I am reverse creeped out by the idea of why any 100 yr old man would want to date a 17 yr old girl. :scared:

Go figure.

Thank You1 I have a cool recommendation of a GREAT website for super easy patterns you download: www.YouCanMakeThis.com The purses and bags and skirts are really easy for beginners
Here's the non-pump-fake link: http://www.youcanmakethis.com/

Utah- I love the quilt too. You could back it with anything.... I think I would pick a starry print. What ever happened with the Pooh Family?
AH! Glad you asked. Pooh Mama never paid on time or when she did I had to go pick up the money or the check would bounce. My stress load is a million times less without them. DAILY the baby blew out his diaper (up to his hair, down to his socks) and PoohGirl pooped her pants etc. NOT worth the stress.
SO, since we are STAYING here in this house ("working on things" for now) I have two full time openings to replace the pooh kids. popcorn::

Goog evening, Moovers. Monica, I was going to try to honor your request and try to come up with something fabulous, but I believe I'm coming to terms with the fact that my day was mundane today. Can I try again tomorrow?

L...savvy. pirate: Actually, I don't really remember talking about it this summer, but I knew if I said that you'd go all Martha on me and dig up some old quote or something to prove it. So, in conclusion, I savvy. :rolleyes1
p.s. I am totally picturing you rolling your eyes at CBM as he locks the door each time he leaves his room. Heh. Guess he'll be keeping an extra set of keys on his person from now on!

Moo...No worries...teachers have code words for all of the characteristics a child could possess. I could tell you, but then I'd have to shoot you.

1. Call me crazy.

2. YOU: please, please, please go out to eat with me
ME: I'm working. Go bother somebody else.
YOU: Please, please, please. you are awesome.
ME: I know, but I am very busy.
YOU: I'll pay for your food.
ME: Ok. I guess so loserfreak.

3. I am never obnoxious. got it?
1. You're crazy. See what a good friend I am? You ask and I am more than happy to oblige! Sheesh, it's almost like the world needs more of me!
2. I'm about to whip out the text evidence to the contrary. Either that or take away all further cookie/brownie priviliges from you. Got it?
3. No. I am having trouble with this concept.

Allie...I'm going to postpone my surprise visit to your house until you have all of your electrical issues in order.

Utah....I LOVE THAT BLANKET!!!!!!!! Will you make me one? It can be a Christmas/ birthday present. Pretty please? :flower3:

Sandy...Only 7 more days till the trip?!! :cool1: :cool1:
p.s. I see no reason a child can't miss a week of school as long as the parents are willing to work with the child to make up missed assignments. I had one out a couple of weeks ago to go on a cruise. The parents came to me before the cruise and I told them I fully supported them taking the kid out. Life is to be lived, if you can go to Disney with your whole family, go for it! Don't let those pesky teachers get to you! :teacher:

Please pray for my co-worker Stacey and her boyfriend.

His Dad is dying, likely passed today. She left work very suddenly only saying that he called and needed her to come to his Dad's house.

Thanks that is all. It's been a crazy week, wish I had time to expound but I don't.

Wendy - Awesome blanket. It should be backed with Minky. My boys all want Minky blankets. lol. They must think I'm made of money.

Twinkie's sling is going in the mail tomorrow! (did I post this already?)

Not fun girl party last night. My friend who lost her son had a bad day yesterday. I so wish I could do something/anything to help her. I think time and prayer are the only things that will help.
Sending prayers for your friend, Lex :grouphug:

BTW, I'm with you, bbn, and Twink on the Edward thing. NOWendy et al!

Why didn't I think of that?
I only watched one hour of the debate - and by the end of that hour I was yelling at the tv telling Mccain he was no friend of mine. :rotfl2:
I was yelling that in my head so my hubby couldn't hear me!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone! Having quite an amusing day so far! Lemme tell y'all a CBM story. Ummmmm, is CBM hiding his p o r n obsession???

Sorry to hear about your hubby's friend.

Wendy - Awesome blanket. It should be backed with Minky. My boys all want Minky blankets. lol. They must think I'm made of money.

Twinkie's sling is going in the mail tomorrow! (did I post this already?)
But I thought the minky was stinky! ;) According to Mrs. the king's DD anyway . . .

PLEEEEEEASE post a pic of Twink's new sling! :)

Allie - Sorry for all your stuff going bust lately. At least it's Fall Break!

Steph - Prayers sent.

Wendy - Glad the pooh kids are no longer your problem! :thumbsup2

Peej - I sure am glad I never had to hear any of those code words at school conferences!!!!!!!!!
