Allie - Nice to have you back! Glad to hear you made it through your surgery OK. Hope everything heals quickly.

Lex - Working on Saturday? :scared:

Wendy - Lemon bars sound yummy. Interesting Utah facts!

DTD - w00t for amazing your coworkers!!!

L - I'm hoping my DD doesn't have a lot of rain to drive through tomorrow on her way to NC. Glad Boris didn't have to play in the mud ;)

MommyP - What's a bottle brush tree? A type of pine???

I made it downtown this afternoon to check out the arts & crafts fair. Didn't see anything I couldn't live without. One of the things I did see that made me think of all the mamas on this thread was a padded shopping cart seat cover for toddlers. I don't think I've ever seen one before. I'm sure MommyP or Wendy could whip one up!

Thanks for the facts Wendy. She's sure to get extra credit with some of those. ;) Her project is due on Friday. Luckily, they are doing most of the work at school, and not having to be supplemented by mom at home. :yay:

I just wanted to ask my UTAH expert, so that she could get the extra credit points. :thumbsup2 Thanks again!

Hi, I just got back form the Game/tailgate party...we had a great time and the game went great for UoL .... I wish we could have averaged the two games scores and we would have won both.....lol

Wow, BH! You were out late!!!

Allie - Forgot to say how cute the (not so) Hidden Mickey fish is! :thumbsup2

GOOD MORNING!

No time to chat but wanted to leave you a verse. We are studying these verses with my girls group at church under the theme, Love God, Love Others. I'm adding extra verses at the beginning and at the end.

Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"

Jesus replied:"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

happy sunday all!

moo - I've seen those grocery cart thingies around here.

Wow, could it be any more quiet here today?

Anyway, read in my local paper today that HBO is starting a new series tonght at 9 pm about young vampire love. I swear some of it sounded like SM plagerized it. Anyway, the local TV critic gave it 5 out of 5 stars! Plus they have a 1 hour show on vampire legends before that. I set it to record in case I fall asleep....

In other news:

I was planning on going to Germany to see mom in mid-October, but talking to mom today, my brother and SIL are going on vacation for 2 weeks then. And mom would be put in a short term care facility. Mom thought they might like it if I come, so she wouldnt have to go. But I will only go for 1 week.I said I can postpone till November. Mom said, NO, not still later, I might be dead by then!
Anyway, we agreed that I would talk to my brother. So I called, but he is out of town on business till late tomorrow. (Apparently mom forgot that) SIL didn't want to commit either way. Honestly, I would prefer them to be home when I go. But I will have to see. Goinng to try and call brother later this week. SIL also said mom always liked the short term care facility before, she has more company and things to do.

SIL said mom has gotten OLD, but she is still vain enough to get her hair colored and styled, LOL!

Goog evening! Fall is definitely in the air here in Michigan.

I took Sukie for a ride in my car this afternoon with the top down to visit our local cider mill. The cider and donuts were tasty!!! I also picked up a couple caramel apples and a 1/2 peck of McIntosh apples. I love them when they're still tart.

Marita - Listen to your Mutter! Hope you're able to speak with your brother tomorrow.

BH - I enjoyed your graphic today. I just happened to make spaghetti for dinner tonight :)

Safe travels, Cel!

Mari has her other interview tomorrow in NC. She's afraid she didn't get the PA job because she hasn't heard from them, but in my experience it typically takes longer than a week to get through the hiring process, so I haven't given up hope.

Guess I'll just have to pray that everything turns out all right

Moo, I cam't talk to my brother until at least Tuesday. he is out of town on business.

Talked to Chris (DS) today. He is leaving Friday for Colorado for his flight training. Stopping along the way to visit a pal. He has to report on Tuesday, I think,
I asked him to call from the road. He said. MOM!!!!!!!!!! I'm almost 30!!!!!!!!!!!

So what???? Do we worry any less about you??????? It's all those idot drivers on the road that worry me.

Dang kids!!!!!!

Oh, and tomorrow is my "SURVIVING ON A REDUCED INCOME" seminar. 1 hour. Free lunch included!

Oops, I think I said that already..

BH - I enjoyed your graphic today. I just happened to make spaghetti for dinner tonight :)

Moo ...I glad you like rumblytumbly's latest...I thought some of the dog lovers here might like it :goodvibes:

I hope your daughter has luck finding a job soon in this poor economy

my sister and her husband are both unemplyed right now due to cutbacks so wish luck for them too please

Moo and BH Pixie dust to all job hunters! It sucks right now. I just heard this weekend that another 100,000 jobs were lost last month.

Marita - I just saw where you said tomorrow and didn't think about the time change.

I haven't signed up for a retirement seminar yet. It might make me think I can't retire when I am eligible and it's the only thing that keeps me going to work right now even though I'm pretty burnt out :)

Sorry to hear about your sister and BIL, BH. A lot of my daughter's school friends have found jobs recently, so she isn't too worried yet.

Moo, I can't retire yet either, I dont know what the heck I would do with my time if I did. But it's a free seminar at work, so i might as well take it.
As Lexi said, getting nails done and pedicures is probably not on the plan, LOL. And cigarettes and wine. :rolleyes1

But Free luch! That qualifies as living on reduced income, right?

I think i just figured out we will have mortage paid off in 3 or so years. Unless there is another one luring.

my allergies are a wreck this morning.

So is the tissue box.

Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Happy Monday!

GOOD MORNING!

Not much time today.

Marita....I've been living on a reduced income for the last 5 years. What do you need to know? Here's the gist....don't buy anything! And make out a budget. In your case I recommend budgeting in manicures first and food last. See.....Now you can skip the seminar. But show up for the free lunch! You're welcome. RE: Germany....go for the whole two weeks! Why not? RE: Vampire show....how was it? I don't have HBO.

Monica? Stuffy head? Sore throat? Maybe that's what wrong with Emily!

Moo....I love those padded shopping cart things. The main purpose in my mind is to keep the lil darlins from putting their mouths on the handle. :scared:

Allie, Celery, Hound, Wendee, Twinkster, everybody
.....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT MONDAY!

What details? Seriously nothing going on. Honest!
House is STILL for "sell".

MommyP- I think I need your addy again. I have your old one. I will wash it all in mild detergent with no bleach or fabric softener. You can re do if you want. :laundy:

Yay! So glad it'll a be going to a great home. Whatever you don't want or cant use, you can donate.
I think I still have some NB sized dipes too which make great doublers.

I'll drop you a PM with it. Thanks so much! I can use NB size too. Especially since we plan on having more.
MommyP - What's a bottle brush tree? A type of pine???

One of the things I did see that made me think of all the mamas on this thread was a padded shopping cart seat cover for toddlers. I don't think I've ever seen one before. I'm sure MommyP or Wendy could whip one up!
I have one! A young girl in our church made it for me a few years ago when I had Kaleb.

Bottle brush trees are soooooooooo beautiful. We had two at our first house. When they bloom the flower looks like a "bottle brush" (to clean a baby bottle) they are bright red and a healthy tree will be almost completely red when in full bloom.

Oh, and tomorrow is my "SURVIVING ON A REDUCED INCOME" seminar. 1 hour. Free lunch included!

.
The story of my life. I should become a motivational speaker and do seminars of that very subject. Then we wouldn't have to survive on a reduced income. ;)

I brought up the subject of a trip over Christmas to Chad yesterday. It was the first time I was alone with him to talk about it since I came up with the idea. My Mom and Dad take the boys to Sunday school and we stay home with Isaac, then we come for church. It's too long for Isaac to sit through church and we don't put him in the nursery.

Anyway, he LOVED the idea! :yay: :woohoo:  :cool1: I guess all this hard working with nothing to show for it is catching up to him and a nice trip to look forward to will be a real moral booster. :dance3: So now we just have to pray he gets lots of houses and makes at least $600 a week so I can put the needed $70 a week away to pay for the rest of the trip. If not, I'm hoping since it's going to be so close to us getting back our tax return and we'll know by then how much we'll be getting I can convince him to let us use some of that instead of putting it all in the bank.

So today I'll book us a room. Hopefully it's still available since Friday.

Now I have a REAL trip to plan! :cloud9:

Lexy: No sore throat, just a ton of sneezing today and my nose won't stop running. My eyes become irritated and watery too.

Sometimes though, my head is all full like with pressure, but not today.

While I was looking through our pictures to find one of the bottle brush tree I came across these beauties.

Our first house. So many memories. I don't think any house in as special as your first. I miss that place so much, even though it's way too small for us. It's so neat to see how far we've come from starting out.
