Lynette, an associate from our sister resort was totally excited today to experience a hurricane!
Of c ourse he is leaving to go home to Wisconsin on Monday! No skin off his teeth!

A colony! you lucky duck!!!! We used to get bats when we lived in NC- more in the street than the back yard. I would love a colony of bats! Aaaah. A colony means mamas and babies. The grown men just like to visit the colony to socialize and prefer batchelor roosts.

Earlier this evening, DH stood outside at dusk and watched the outside of the house to be sure that none were flying OUT of our house. Looks good so far. I have had enough Wild Kingdom antics around here to last me TWO lifetimes!

My parents have 2 generators. They let my older sister borrow one, we go over to their house(after the storms, our house is new, concrete block and safer) if we need power. This is the first year my other sisters are out of the house for hurricane season. They would come over to Mom's too if needed. One of them is out of town right now though.

So far it looks like it's just going to be a longer than normal summer storm. Hopefully that's all it does.

Time for the obligatory drive-by PJ post!!!

I hear Marita is paying to get bbn and my computers fixed. I am SO happy to hear that. Thanks, Marita, I owe you one!! I'll buy you a Western omelette at Pop next time I'm in town. Just in case Marita falls through, I am thinking once I get a couple of paychecks I can afford to get the old laptop fixed or get a new one or somethin. FIRST PAYCHECK COMES FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DTD....where are you??? Bbn and I tried to stalk you at the fair yesterday, but the women in the gyro booth said you were on break!! It was only once I got up to the booth that I realized I didn't know your first name. Asking if a DTD was working seemed a little strange.

School has been going well. Most of my little buggers are great kids and we have no problems. I of course have the high maintenance kids, but I've been laying down the law. Mostly I am just TIRED!!!! I have no idea how I taught all day last year and then went to class all night AND kept up with class work. Can I just say I am glad those days are gone?

I miss you guys and I hope to be around more once I have a computer in my apartment!!!! Hope everyone's doing well.

Peej, I hate that I missed you. I was just sitting in front of Freedom Hall talking with a therapist(not for me, she just happened to be one). When I got back Tony said a couple of hotties came by to see me. Bonnie said one was PJ, and I said, of a couple of HotTies. Way too subtle for that crowd.
Five days in and I've worked 50 hours. I'll probably work over 100 in 11 days. But it is fun. We broke all records Saturday, as did almost all the food vendors. Very busy, and 40 fewer vendors than last year. Their loss, our gain.
Costco messed up bad trying to order tickets this morning. I called customer service and they were bewildered. Said I'd done everything right. The lady finally walked down to the web page people and one of them said, yeah we know, we're working on it. Shouldn't c/s be the first folks told when the web page for ordering is down? Gotta go over there now and try again.
