GOOD MORNING!

Today's the day! :cool1:

I am back to my early wake-up time. This year I figure I will HAVE to be in the shower by 6:30 in order to get kids up around 7:15 and drop off at school by 7:55. Sorry if y'all glazed over. I was talking to myself out loud.

I have not been watching the Olympics this week. I've been reading the stupid vampire book. I cannot put it down!!! :headache: I'll be semi-glad when it's over and I can get back to my life. My house is a mess!

DILEMMA....I need a goog 4 day girls trip. We (my IRL girlfriends & I) have all decided we need a break. ANY IDEAS??? A cruise? Gatlinburg? Las Vegas? The beach somewhere? I am open to suggestions!

Moo....I would not take him to work unless it was an emergency. He and Emily get out of school at the same time so my plan (for the next 2 weeks) is to have Mimi pick up Emily and then drive back and pick up DS and take them both home. The carpool line at his school is VERY long so it should work out just fine.

NAB
....School starting is always a good thing by late July. ;) Let us know about Dollywood! I've never been there.

Twinkie
....What beautiful children you have! I really DID look.

Wendee....I need an inside track. A hot line. A bat phone. I want the scoop.

Celery.....I love your angry ovary theory! It explains a lot for you and lots of other people too! Here's info on the state farr. Let me know if you decide to go. I haven't been since I was a kid.

Lynette....Sounds like you're making the kids try on uniforms. My kids just wear what they've been wearing all summer. All the kids on our street go to Catholic school and now their uniforms have to be monogrammed with the name of the school...not just generic white polo shirts and navy shorts.

Allie....I think at least one of my children was conceived from the angry ovary too! :lmao:

PJ....Hope the first day was a piece-a-cake!

Monica, Pumba, Kay, girls.....:wave2:

Boys....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT WEDNESDAY EVERYBODY!

Melinda - thanks for the info.
If I do go to cincy, it'll be the week of the 25th - and I'm not sure if I could make it to the fair on the 24th.
We have a congregational business meeting after each service at church that day, and since I'm on the vestry and am the "assistiant treasurer," I have to be there for both.
Plus we're having a "Rah rah make everything sound happy!" vestry meeting at 8:45 that morning.

Here's the schedule for that day:

Drive an hour to church
Meeting at 8:45
First service at 9:15
Business meeting at 10:30/10:45ish
11:00 service - where I have nursery duty
12:30 - second business meeting

then drive to loo uh vull - 3 hours
party with melinda, babycow, peej and dtd
drive two more hours to cincy.

woo.
I'm tired just thinking about it. ;)
we'll see.

I might be coming back to Pittsburgh that week too.

(aren't y'all excited to know my itinerary? :yay: )

I'm excited for peej's first days at school!
log on, busy woman!
we need details!

marita - every picture I see of Michael Phelps has him wearing some ugly speedos - they have weird patterns on them.
and they are DEFINITELY NOT to his knees.
Maybe you were seeing their warm up suits? :confused3

moo gave me more ovary advice in pm's.
I won't share it with you guys. ;)

Morning:

Tim met with a thorasic (sp) surgeon yesterday. This guy was all ready to do surgery on him and was trying to set a date. We still have 2 more dr's to meet with.

Anyways, he thinks he can just do surgery and remove part of the rib since this thing is so small.

I go to the OB today. I'm gonna bring up the angry ovary idea. I'm sure he'll get a laugh out of it.

And I hope to find something out about my thyroid.

Maybe.

Lexy: I love the water. A cozy rental cottage sounds like a great time. We did a girls only trip to Cancun once, and when we got there we headed straight for the beach. Everyday we just hung out on the beach with the proper required beverages. Sigh, I wanna do that again.

Have you noticed that all female gymnasts have ponytails with big scrunchies? Regardless of country, they all do!!!! One hairdo fits all!

Like everything, I am sure hairdos go in and out of fashion. But my experience with gymnastics hairdos is that the big scrunchy actually works the best. Gymnasts spend so much time working out that their hair is ALWAYS in a pony tail.... causing it to break at the point the pony tail holder goes in. The scrunchy stays in pretty well and is the best thing for reducing breakage (a rubber band is the worst). Most leos come with a matching scrunchy but I have had to buy a couple.... do you know how hard those things are to find these days??? In the 80s I had a drawer full.

I taped the gymnastics last night so my girls could watch it today. I wish they would have shown the Romanian team at least a little. Maybe it will be on Oxygen today?

1. Congrats! We practiced for the bus today. Tomorrow is a half day for the girls and everyone goes Friday.

2. Hmm... I haven't done anything remotely like this. Well I did take my mom, sister and daughters to WDW once. But a grown up girls trip? I would like a big city like NYC with shows, museums, shopping, good food... or a beach trip where we just sit around and talk girl talk and maybe paint our nails and have pillow fights.

3. Thank you!

4. ITA. Phone in Batgirl!

and thanks to everyone else who said my kids are cute.

5. I didn't see! Facebook em! :3dglasses

1. The banana-dance-of-back-to-school-joy
Where is that Staples commercial about the Most Wonderful Time of the Year?

2. Me either! I wouldn't even know what to do on a big girls trip to anywhere. Nail painting and pillow fighting is always fun. And talking about boys! I only get the once a month Bunko night out. Which is basically a bunch of women mis-behaving. Twinkie!!! We must do bunko night!

1. I KNOW! It's good, huh! I am glued to it in my spare time. It really makes and hour on the gym-bike go FAST! Poof, 400 calories burned!

2. VEGAS! Go see the nudie vampire show, "Bite"! (and take me with you!)
Or a beach plus cruise. Heck, I'd like 2 hours in Barnes and Noble!

3. You have my cell # don't you? Can't tell you too much, mama, YET. :cool2: popcorn:: :cloud9:

I like celery's idea. If you want me to see something interesting, just pm me your post.:rotfl:

I will tell the angry ovary theory to every OB/GYN I see at work today. PROMISE.:rolleyes1

I dont know if I will make it to the Kentucky State Fair this year, DTD. I am working every stinking day. Yesterday, I told the nurses that I certainly did love them lots more when I didn't have to see their faces every day. Somebody muttered something about "bring Pollyanna back. stat" hee hee

PJ, JT, BZ or whatever her name is started her teaching job and I think she's gonna like it. I'm trying to get her to ask one of her co-workers (who looks like Vince Vaughn) out on a date, but she thinks I'm crazy. What-evah!:snooty:

Cute kid story?

ok. fine. since you twisted my arm.

The redhead had to write a little paper on things he did not do this summer and things he did do this summer.

1. I did not go outside (Note to self: Fire Boo Radley. Hire new nanny)

2. I did not eat peanut butter and jelly (that's right son, only juice boxes and handi-snacks 'round these parts woo hoo)

3. I did not go to Hollywood (Didn't even know it was on his list of place to visit this summer. btw, he thought that was hilarious. He could barely control his laughter when I read it. ummmm, ok????:confused3 )

4. I did not fight with my brothers (Slap a lie detector on this kid OR sign him up for law school. zing!)

1. I did go to a Bats game and caught a home run ball (heh. ok, he went, but the outfielder threw it to him after he was done warming up. Law school is looking like a pretty viable option. double zing!)

2. I did watch Popeye (a truthful statement, he just failed to mention he watched it a zillion times. *whew*)

3. I did eat popcorn at the movies. (despite the redhair, RS can now no longer deny that this is indeed his son. hee hee)

The teacher did make a comment on his paper about the part where he said he did not go outside. She wrote "Are you SURE you didn't go outside? ;-) ) I think she appreciates a little artistic license in a 7 yr. old.

That's all I got for now.

cya.

So the hourly employees at my work get the option of going to a four day work week.
Doesn't apply to me.

Melinda - I vote for quick cruise! Woo!

umama - I can't call cuz I get bad reception here.
Plus I don't wanna mess up naptime.
Maybe I'll call this weekend.
wait.
I don't get reception at breadman's either.

hi twinks!
(and everyone else)

babycow - Sometimes I wish we could see what the heck they are thinking. Why was the hollywood bit funny?
I'm going to be worrying about it now.
What kind of insane joke is going on in his head?
Cuz you know there is one.
Maybe he had some elaborate prank ready to pull and by not going, you missed it.
:confused3
Or maybe he's officially NOT taking credit for the fire at Universal.
:confused3
Or maybe he knows that Peej's sister is named Hollywood and he secretly wanted to go see her but was scared to admit it because she's a mermaid.
Put Nancy Drew on it, stat!

Speaking of BabyN...where has lil G been?

Sorry, MommyP but I just read this and cracked up. I think you meant b/c we are both nurses, but it just seemed so weird to me to read

"oh yeah, speaking of BabyN, where's Lil G?"

Like I secretly know his whereabouts or perhaps I have him chained to my basement insisting he finish my trip report which is should have been retired months ago.

:lmao: too funny... I was wondering myself where she got this thought ...breifly  then I got over it....lol

I dont know why it was so funny, but he thought it was.

Maybe it WAS b/c he wanted to see PJ's sister. Maybe he wanted to sneak in to Ariel's grotto and catch a glimpse.

I heard they remodeled in there. Maybe he just wanted to take a quick peek.:confused3

You DON'T have him chained in your basement finishing your trip report?????

Now I AM worried. Check in Lil G! I know he is supposed to be on a 987 day cruise but that sounded like cover for "chained in basement at Sunnybrook writing about forcing innocent ballerinas to ride Tower of Terror" Duh.

I loved the Redhead Story. And the bit about not going to Hollywood made perfect sense to me. I even a giggled a little. I also didn't go to Hollywood this summer. :confused3

I suggest you look into that law school option. I hear that it is slightly nicer than jail.

Seriously BBN- that was the funniest post of the day. :lmao:

Happy Birfday to you !

Happy Birfday to you!

Happy Birfday dear Madelyn!

Happy Birfday toooooooo yooooooouuuuu!

My baby is 1 years old today and I forgot to write about it in my first post! Bad mommy!

No Ganews is good ganews:
No thryroid problem, now I'm to see and Ear Nose and Throat Dr. Oy!
and get an ultra sound of the endometrisomething lining in my pelvis.

But I do have this wonderful apt with my PT and I get to have an hour of nice touches around my neck.

Red heads are so smart!

While talking about BabyN it reminded me that Lil' G has been missing for a while. Because they are both nurses. How could you people not get that?

I cleaned up my sewing area today. I should have taken a picture before. Fabric was piled higher than my sewing machine. lol.I was going to start on my chocolate colored cordoroy straps for a mei tai I'm working on, but after filling my bobbin I ran out of thread. Thankfully my Mom is in town today(JoAnn's is 40 minutes away and Walmart doesn't carry good thread) so she is picking me up some.

Chad didn't have to go into work today until 12. Of course seeing as how we live in the far corner of the county he had to leave for work at 10:30. He gets off at 8:30, so he'll be home around 10. I am hoping my parents don't go to church tonight so I have someone to hang out with. If not, I'll sew.

Earlier I heard what sounded like a plane landing in my backyard. It was so loud and disturbing I actually ran outside to make sure it wasn't landing in my backyard. Seth even stopped(he was down the street riding his dirtbike) and looked at it. He said it was turning. Not normal. They must have altered their path into the airport at the last minute, which involved a pitstop in my backyard.

Lynette....Sounds like you're making the kids try on uniforms. My kids just wear what they've been wearing all summer. All the kids on our street go to Catholic school and now their uniforms have to be monogrammed with the name of the school...not just generic white polo shirts and navy shorts.

Nope, no uniforms. I wish! Having attended Catholic school for 12 years, I was awash in a sea of kneesocks and plaid as a kid. Made getting ready in the morning easy peasy. No such luck with my kids. But they DO need certain clothes for gym and each of them has favorite types of clothing, yada, yada. Any shortage of these faves results in torturous decision-making when it comes time to pick out the next day's outfits. KWIM?

2. Hmm... I haven't done anything remotely like this. Well I did take my mom, sister and daughters to WDW once. But a grown up girls trip? I may have an inside scoop on JUST such a trip. ;)

Heck, I'd like 2 hours in Barnes and Noble!

2. You have my cell # don't you? Can't tell you too much, mama, YET. :cool2: popcorn:: :cloud9:

1. Sadly, this is about all I get for "me-time" nowadays.

2. Hey, I like scoop too, y'know! :rolleyes1

The teacher did make a comment on his paper about the part where he said he did not go outside. She wrote "Are you SURE you didn't go outside? ;-) ) I think she appreciates a little artistic license in a 7 yr. old.

How could one NOT appreciate the redhead's creativity???? Too bad he didn't mention the cowbell story. Now THAT'S a good story! (I love that kid!) :rotfl:

Happy Birfday dear Madelyn!

Happy b-day to Maddy and happy birthing day to you, Mony! Great news on the thyroid! Here's hoping for continued good ganews all around!

Speaking of which, if you guys could spare a prayer (or 2) for my godfather, he sure could use 'em. He is in the hospital since last night. His blood pressure is hovering around 96 over 50, and he has an irregular heart rhythm. They are doing an echocardiogram today to see if there's some sort of clot in his heart. They are talking about having to defib him if his heart rate doesn't regulate itself. This is my dad's brother, and he's VERY dear to me, so any and all prayers are appreciated.
