HOLD ON! I know all y'all want to see what floats my boat...1960's-early 70's muscle cars (Chevs or Mustangs). While waiting for our campsite to clear out, we had an hour to burn and found ourselves at a CAR SHOW :lovestruc at a local ski resort. Since this is a family show we're running here, I wont tell you what these cars may or may not DO to me :rolleyes1

CAR PORN!

Yes, I know, Riley is getting that Jonas Bros. hair cut off today!

Check out the good ol' boy in the back. He was semi-intoxicated and it was noon!

Look! I got to get IN a SWEET Corvette!
Pict0054.jpg

One thing about the owners of these cars is, they LOVE when ladies FAWN all over their cars :cool2: The owner of the pink/white Vette was a 60 something sweet thing that reminded me of Dolly Parton

I hope you adopted this owner as a parent so they will leave you this vette with is pink accents in her will!

Good Day Everyone...Im off to Bowling Green when it quits raining

Gooooooooood afternoon, everyone! It's 82 degrees outside, and 84 degrees in my office today, but CBM won't put the A/C on because he isn't hot. :sad2: So I'm being belligerent...refusing to leave my desk with its itty-bitty fan. Sorry, if I can't work comfortably, then I won't work at all. Harumph! If this keeps up, I am going to have to get a real job!

Melinda, enjoy your last day with a wingman! I'm sure you're all ready to go solo at your new job. Now if only you could get rid of your old one!

Wenchy, welcome back! My DH likes cars like that. Me, not so much. I am quite happy with my tried-and-true minivan (which Natasha calls the "Loser Cruiser".....cheeky monkey!). Now git over to Facebook and play your turn! Heh!

Everyone else: Sup? Have a great Monday!

I am NEVER posting anything remotely funny here again.

Wheat Thins

What do you mean "again"? :rolleyes1

Tell him (CBM) you're pre-menopausal or something! :rolleyes1 Lady-talk should work with that one, I'm guessing. Or not.

Why is it when I'm available to play, y'all suddenly have lives? :upsidedow

Minivan, huh? NICE!

WHAT?!? minivans are NOT the be all and end all of cool?:confused3
Besides Wendee, I have a feeling that if you had a lil pink-n-white sports car you would not be able to assemble a three course meal or a prom dress out of items currently on the floor of your car.

WT- have you switched to softball?
Lali- I love the CBM chronicles.... keep posting them in case I tempted to get a job.

Project t-shirt is going swimmingly. I guess it is good that I don't have a color printer so I have to be done before I go home. I made the designs before I found a copy of photoshop lurking in my dad's desk.... I installed it but I am woefully ignorant. I am sure I would spend far to much time playing around with it this fall so it is best to be done now.

Wendy - I'm only "allowed" to get excited over Mopars (Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge muscle cars. It's a family thang. The area we live in is GM country, though - so all the local car shows mostly feature GM vehickuls . . . much to my hubby's chagrin, because GM owners scarf up most of the prizes at the shows.

Well, I'm glad to be home from the funeral. My sister held up pretty well. I rescued her from having her her yakked off by one of our cousins. As usual, we saw a lot of family members that we haven't seen in years. I skipped out on the dinner because where it is being held is usually super smoky (NOMarita). I had a chance to visit with my brother and his wife who I usually only see a couple times a year, so that was nice.

L - My sympathies on CBM's annoying snit over the AC. The only good thing for me about working in a basement office is that it tends to be cooler than the upper floors. We do have some windows on one side, but they don't let in enough sun to heat things up.

Twink! You'll have to show us your shirt design :) It's probably a good thing my laptop is too decrepit to run Photoshop

WT, you know you  us! You wouldn't want to abandon us and have Cel to go into a permanent funk, now would you!!!

wooooo hoooooooooo the ups man came and delivered my cd and some books....the cd is Queens greatest hits......I love just love some of the music.....especially Bohemian Rapsody...my favorite.....I think I will send for a meatloaf cd next and then The Three Tenors......I will be in heavy....
So whats up....it was a nice day today and my dil and two grandkids came and also I had two rug rats.....everyone was super...My granddaughters fish (Mr. man) passed away during the evening hours so she had to have a new one.....she is just two and was looking at her fishy and said .....Poor baby .dont ya feel okey......to cute I think.....
My stomach is not a happy camper....but I think it may be the french fries I had at lunch.......

Big news...there's a computer in the clubhouse!! I know you're all excited and relieved.

Moo...what was DD's major? As in what kind of job is she looking for, I guess.

bbn....sorry about the purple baby situation. Excellent job rising to the occasion. Is that the one time when purple isn't your favorite color?

L....I almost said schlep today. Don't worry, I caught myself. I would say you're definitely to blame though.

Twinkessori
....I'm confused as to where you are. Still in Carolina or whatever? Haven't you been there like a million years?

BH...Strangely enough I don't need any furniture. I'll pass the word along though! :)

Let me just say teacher orientation is not a fun time. BORING!!!!!!! Here are some of the extremely useful pieces of information that I gathered from today: I cannot buy alcohol for my students. Undressing with one's eyes, patting, hugging, winking at, or giving personal gifts to another employee is considered harassment. I really enjoyed the winking part. There will be no winking in the workplace...and that's final!!

Okay, as I am living in a sea of boxes I think I will get back to unpacking. Oh, and I got a cat. He totally needs a name.

Hi to anyone I missed. The end.

Peej, we're toadily thrilled that you have Internet access!!! How can we suggest kitty names if we don't know what he looks like??! Was it a rescue kitty?

My daughter's Master's degree is in City & Regional Planning aka Urban Planning. But she is interested in sustainable agriculture/local food systems and wants to find a job in that area, which I think is what is proving to be rather difficult. She may just have to try to find an entry level job in the general field to get some experience so she's more marketable in her area of interest.

Hope tomorrow is less boring ;)

oh moooooooo.....you are going to be serviced by Schwans......you are soooooo lucky

their ice cream is expensive and worth every bite....top of the line ......and they have some great other products.....and my man doesnt come this way anymore......big sad sigh....kids love the corn dogs on a stick......I got them from the stores and they are not even close to how good schwans are......the kids know the difference.....

just go to schwans.com and put in zip code to see if they come your way

PJ, you can't buy alcohol for yor students or undress them with your eyes???

How messed up is that? :confused3

Yay on the internet in the Clubhouse!

I have never been nor am ever likely to be serviced by the Swans man! "sad"

Lexi, I am sure you will do great flying solo. Some questions are natural to come up, no worries. Oh, and we do forecast 10 months a year, compressed into 3-4 day (intesse), but I doubt it would cut down on workforce to eliminate that process.

Twinkie, we sure need to see pics of the shirt! Cut off the heads if you have to (the pictures, not the kids!)

Moo, good that you survived the funeral ok. Never a good time.

The boss had a little chat with me re: working from home (specificall entire days), but nothing too bad, I'm fine. I have a dentist appt on Thursday that I had to reschedule from the day before budget review,. and it's at 12:30 on Thursday downtown. 30 miles the OTHER direction from work, so I thought that was a good plan. But he is askeered other people might get ideas, I guess..... But plans are still in place.

OK, I'm off to get some dinner.

Hi to all my other Moover friends!

OK, I mentioned something about DS giving DH a con at the graduation ceremony after the first salute, which I didn''t understand at the time. I didnt know why the heck DS son got an overnight special delivry to MY house, when he is far away. And DH got instructions to take the package ion the trip (already in the car)

A friend of mine sent me this info tonight:

First Salute Ceremony It is an honored tradition. A newly commissioned officer presents a brand new silver dollar to the first enlisted soldier who salutes him or her. The exact origin of the custom is unknown but it probably began before the U.S. armed forces were organized. British regiments stationed in colonial America brought with them a number of customs and traditions that were retained by the newly formed continental army. One status symbol highly sought by newly commissioned British officers was to have a servant assigned to them. The servant was normally an enlisted soldier who was responsible for ensuring the officer’s kit, dress and field uniforms, and personal equipment was serviceable at all times. The soldier was also responsible for teaching the officer the regi
the officer the regiment’s history, traditions, and customs. By 1816, a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army received a monthly base pay of $25, a $3 ration allowance, and $1 for an enlisted advisor. Even though this advisor’s pay was discontinued, the responsibility for teaching newly commissioned officers remained. The present day tradition of giving a silver dollar for the first salute is thought to have its roots in this relationship. The salute also represents formal recognition by the soldier of the transition to Officership, and the silver dollar signified the officer’s acceptance of his or her new responsibilities.

RE: A new Special Coin:

This Coin Was Designed As A Replacement For The Traditional "Silver Dollar" Salute That Newly Commissioned 2LT's Presented To The Recipient Of Their "First Salute". The Coin, Minted In Bright Nickel Silver Displays The 2LT Rank Insignia Prominently On The Front With The Words: Duty - Honor - Country, Symbolizing Your Commitment To Your Oath & Your Country. The Reverse Has The Words - In Appreciation & A Space To Engrave Your Name, Date Of Rank, Branch Of Service, etc. Each Coin Is Sealed In A Plastic Air-Tite Capsule.

Yep, the Schwanns ice cream is yummy! My favorite is the chocolate almond. I like to top it with a little Kahlua. Mmmmmmm!!!

Much of their food is pricey, but some things are hard to find in the store or just not as tasty, so I find it to be worth it . . . especially when they deliver it directly to your freezer.

Marita, that's cool about the coin. You must be getting excited to go to graduation. Glad you're going to continue to be able to work from home some.
