Happy Birthday DTD!

Thanks for sharing your Big Guy adventures with us! Bloodhound- I am so sorry about your loss. I am glad DTD told you to come and share your wit and wisdom with us.

College orientation for Mimi! I had mine in early June too. They had different majors come at different times. Of course I can be very Peejish and was busy on the BioGeek weekend so I went on the weekend devoted to the Humanities. Oh the humanity. :lmao: It was a great weekend. I will be shipping off my oldest in just four years ACK! :faint:

Hi NAB! How are you? Do you have craigslist in Canada? My mom swears by it as a place to buy wood furniture.

LilL, I have no problem with gum. I chew gum. But the loud chewing (and grunting!) makes me cringe and gnash my teeth! My dad could hear someone chewing from 4 rooms away, and DESPISED mouth noises. We were raised that mouth noises of ANY sort were to be avoided at all costs.
Glad we could set that straight, for the record. I have a gum chewing addiction of sorts. I think I caught it from the babynurse.

UGH, as you WELL know, I hate mouth noises too. My Dh is fond of sitting right next to me while eating, say, a banana. That slurpy, spitty, throat clucking sound makes me cringe openly.

I love your CBM "Martha" stories! popcorn:: His TEETH! :faint:
Bananas make me want to beurk. slurpy, spitty, throat clucking sound is such an accurate description of someone eating one. :scared: Thanks for sharing that.

I waited all day for St.Vincent De Paul to come pick up my old kitchen table only for them to not take it because it has a few scratches on the top....:sad2: I told them I am sure someone with out a table and chairs wouldn't even notice those scratches. We just refinished 2 years ago so they were not bad. And they wonder why landfills are full. This table is over 70 years old and solid wood. I guess we try to sell it since we can't give it away. :confused3
I happen to be in the market for a kitchen table. Just send it to Ohio, k?

Define "very Peejish" :scratchin And p.s. that joke was bad. Just BAD. :sad2:

Time for work. :wave2:

1. Peejish- having the qualites of a Peej

2. What joke?

3. I hope your work day is MUCH better today. May your computers work and your kitchen be full of yummy of food. May the patrons have only smiles, kind words and pixie dust.

Stress Factor: HIGH

After lunch, this is important remember this, I get the kids down for their nap.

I go upstairs to have my yummy soup I made for lunch (see DISappearing peeps thred for recipe).

I get a phone call from a friend to see how Tim is doing.

Like a bolt of lightening I am reminded that Tim HAD a dr. apt this morning to clear him for surgery.

I call him cause he took the kids to run around.

I call his dr. thinking his apt was for 1:30 and that he'd be on his way. Nope it was for 10:30.

Can you squeeze him in.

Nope. We had a room open for him for an hour this morning. Our next available apt is JULY 14th. You waited for an hour and you did not call us? I live 30 seconds from your office!

He is scheduled for surgery for Monday. He needs to have his kidney removed, we had a death in the family this morning and we were just overwhelmed with the news, we are so sorry, could you please make an exception.

Nope.

I call Tim's Dr.'s right hand landy, Lynne. Explain to here what happened. She says let me try.

Nothing, they won't budge.

I am just completely perplexed. This in MY Dr. I just don't understand why she won't see him.

I start calling all of my Dr.'s to ask them if they know someone who could do us a favor to see Tim.

In the mean time my phone beeps in and it my Dr.'s office calling to schedule to see Tim tomorrow at 10:30 am to clear him for surgery.

Huh? Ok, thanks! I am so sorry, blah blah blah, I thank them profusely and tell them how grateful I am they made room for him.

I call Lynne to tell her and she says, I know. I called Dr. G out of surgery and he called them.

She tells me I should find a new internist after this.

Tim is not pleasant when he is upset. I warned him that he needs to go there and keep his mouth shut. She can come up with something legal to not clear him for surgery.

Where are they having cheap Margaritas? Anyone?:faint:

Monica!

Yes. Find a new doctor. I can handle a gruff no-nonsense non-warm-fuzzy beside manner but THIS?

IMO, Tim should be a priority at this point.

Peej - When I left for the store it was BLACK in every direction. It rained a little on the way to the library, and I heard the sky open up while we were inside, but thankfully we never actually had to leave the car or any stores in the rain. By the time we were heading home it was sunny and super hot/humid do the the morning rain. Yuck.

Happy Birthday DTD!

Where have you been anyway?

Speaking of mouth noises...Chad chews like a cow and if you can believe this, when eating things that don't need chewing(ice cream, sherbert, yogert) he chews. And since there is nothing to chew, his teeth click. The MOST annoying sound, evah.

/
Mony, WOW, I think your stress level is totally off the scale!

Happy Birthday, DTD!

I never did get the omelette today, since the conference call lasted longer than scheduled, so when I got near Pop, the breakfast period was over. But I got a nice chicken flatbread from a local quick service place.

Well, back to budgets for me, DVC deadline is tomorrow.......

Orientation. Check.

That was one long boring day. With the exception of Mimi leaning against the elevator alarm button while we were on a tour. Heh, heh. Poor kid. She was soooo embarrassed.

Tomorrow I'm just dropping her off to register for the classes we chose today and I'm going on to work and to run my other carpools. I pick her back up at 11:30 to tour her dorm and then we're really done.

Monica....I think I'd find another doctor anyway. I'm with Twink...I'd think Tim would be a priority.

Twinkie....Peeejish...I like it. :thumbsup2 (NO Peej)

Lynette....CBM sounds like a real winner. My friend from Boston's dad's name is Arthur. I know that pronunciation. Does CBM look like this?

I KNOW this!
The sound of Ice cream being eaten is the WoRsT!
I'm really glad I'm not alone in this peeve!

On the PLUS side, DH has NEVER farted around me...ever! Not even silently.
I have an odd list of DH pros and cons, I tell you what. ;)

IF he has a list for me, I'm sure the CON list is a doozy!

Happy Birthday DTD!!!!!!

I, of course, have PLENTY of gifts just for YOU! Of course this presents a special challenge of wondering WHAT to get a single guy such as yourself (while at the same time not get banned)....
Awww risk it.:thumbsup2

Yours was the first trippie I read, and am hooked for life. As for BH, who knew he had either wit or wisdom?;)

Happy Birthday DTD!

Where have you been anyway?
I've been around. I'm working 2 jobs, so everything else has slowed down. But one of them is closing down for 3 weeks, so life will get easier.

Happy Birthday, DTD!
Tanks Marita(like the military reference?)

:cool1: Happy Birthday DTD:banana:
You can give me my presents at the Goofy campout. I'm off that Sunday, so we can party hardly.

The Forestry Department in its infinite wisdom, has decided to extend the private contract for 2 months because they're not prepared to take over the operations. So it'll be September before we know anything. But on the upside, I'm off for the State Fair now.
The big birthday plans are well uh, Ugly Betty is on. I have a little bourbon, but I'll probably just have one shot and then veg out with DIET COKE Life is goog.
Moo, that Graeter's looks graet. Is there enough for 2?

Mony, Celery, I promise I quoted both of you, but POOF!!! Thanks for the b'day wishes.
And a generic WT :wave2: to the rest of my moops.

Heh. The secret to managing Martha is to mostly ignore him. Failing that, I begin to treat him like an errant child. This ALWAYS works. My coworkers say that he is afraid of me. I'm okay with that. Once I begin to display any hint of anger or aggravation, he becomes contrite and leaves me alone. I like that.

Melinda, that's really putting it mildly. CBM is slightly taller than Danny DeVito. I said "slightly". ::yes:: Also, next to Martha, Danny looks like George Clooney.

Did I mention that CBM also has the hideous habit of using his pinky finger to dig food out of his molars? After carefully inspecting the treasures he finds back there, he then puts them back in his mouth, chews it a bit, and swallows it. :faint: He likes to do this while he's talking to others. Charming, yes? :scared:

DTD, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
I hope this year brings you much happiness!!!

Yes, I did vomit, a little, and I didn't have a fanny pack around.

Sorry, Mony. He possesses habits even more hideous than that one, but I'll spare you.

You're welcome. :rolleyes1

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DTD!!!

You can have your own Graeter's! Hope you have an enjoyable evening.

1graeters_prefRes.jpg

Peejy Donnisha had such a rough night last night, she needed her own ;)

Lex, I take Graeter's any time my friends gift me with some :lovestruc But it's probably a goog thing we don't have them around here.

MONY!!! What a time you've had lately    Sorry about the doctor situation. My hubby had a specialist that he kept butting heads with (incuding in the hospital, which was kind of tough for me to deal with since I was the one who tried to smooth things over). He finally switched doctors and is MUCH happier with the one he has now.

Nice gifts for DTD, Wendy!

Nabbie, I have also found St. Vincent de Paul to be way too picky so I usually take things to Goodwill or Volunteers of America. My hubby has had really good luck with Craigslist foth for giving things away and selling them.

Marita, sorry you didn't get your omelette today. I actually got out of my cube on a gorgeous day and after our site visit, we ended up sitting at a picnic table next to a lake to have a brief meeting. The park we were at is next to a storage facility for some big astarstar boats, so we saw a couple yachts through an open door. Must be nice to have that kind of $$ . . . the lake is connected to Lake Michigan, so people like the DeVoses (think Amway) store their "boats" there.

Cel - Yay for no physical!!!

Twink - LOLing about you missing GeekWeek orientation.

Lynette - ACK on CBM!!!!!!!!

 Mony I am so glad you feel safe enough here to post - like others say - its OHANA we're family - no one gets left behind... for better or worse!!

Sharing a little puppy cuteness . . .

IMG_1433.jpg

Awwwwwww!!!!!!!

IMG_1460.jpg

My mama went to Disney World and all she got me was this t-shirt with a rodent on it!

IMG_1392.jpg

Jasper: Quit your complaining, all I got was a lousy bandana!
Sukie: Well, at least yours has a dog on it. Ha-ruff!

IMG_1455.jpg

Posing for photos is exhausting.

IMG_1451.jpg

Zzzzzz . . .

Guess what we did today? went to a Pet Shelter - and looked at Cletus and St Matilda (what weird names!! Apparently they were from Texas??! :rotfl2: )

but your dogs reminded me of the pair!! *sigh...

I really want a dog... :sad2:

Peej/Donnisha - Have some Graeter's!!!!!! Sounds like you've earned it tonight  This weekend, I just used up the bitterseweet chocolate sauce my friend from Cincinnati gave me with some Graeter's ice cream for my birthday last year. Heavenly :)

1graeters_prefRes.jpg

Good Grief Peej, or is Donnish your name now? I havent read all the way back - I know shame on me!! but what a workout - no power, crabby people, no food for you??? THANK YOU for keeping the spirit up!! :worship:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DTD!!!

44357674_b0f4c9e559.jpg

Hope your birthday is full of wonderful surprises and lots of joy!

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

Big day today....Mimi's college orientation. I took off work and we have to be there at 7:30ish. Got the other kiddos all taken care of since it lasts til 5:00 p.m. Wish us luck!

RE: Lunch at work....we had a nice church member who dropped off some cash this week to buy lunch for the staff. We ordered a tray of wrap sandwiches and two wonderful cakes. Then the generous man called yesterday and said he was bringing breakfast too. We are well fed in our office. Makes me wish I had a million dollars and could spend my day going around doing nice things for people.

Hound....My neighborhood Mexican place has 2-fer-1 margaritas twice a week. That's when my girlfriends and I always go but I think my restaurant measures the ta-kill-ya with a thimble instead of a jigger because you've gotta drink 3 or 4 before you feel it. I guess that's why they're so cheap.

Monica....We're here for ya, honey! Don't ever feel bad about posting anything!

Marita....I heard a segment on NPR yesterday about lots of employers going to 4 day work weeks and letting people work at home due to gas prices. I think you should go into the office once a week and stay home the rest. Tell your boss it's the national trend.

Moo....The puppies are precious in their little outfits! The Graeter's holds no appeal for me since I can go there anytime I want. When I can afford it! That banana split probably costs $15 at Graeter's. It's the most expensive ice cream evah!

Donnisha
....WHY do people have to be so mean to the hostess? Mimi worked as a hostess for three years and hated it! People take out all their frustrations on YOU because you're young and you're available and they know you can't talk back. It's shameful really. It's not your fault the power is out. BTW....tell me how to get Mimi a summer job at Disney. I'm sending her down there next year.

Lynette....I always LOVE your CBM stories. Makes me appreciate my job all the more. Can you sneak a picture of him? I need a visual.

BNCG....Hope Julia's birthday was happy! Will she be a freshman or a sophomore? Emily turns 15 in September and will be a freshman. Emily would lof Julia as my poor girl has always wanted her own pony. :(

Steph, Kay, NAB, Celery, ever-body.....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

 you do the bestest recaps!! :worship:

I've just been in a funk - dh has been overworking (and I have no access to a computer without him!) *sigh...

DH has a birthday in a few days, ds is going to have the BBQ at his house - I spent $200 on food for it!!! :rotfl2: I think after the party we'll drive him up to the Pet Shelter and introduce him to Cletus and Matilda (really dont like the name cleatus!) They are 5years old - and have been in the shelter since March - we're the first family that 'looked at them' - and they (the staff) was impressed with how well I worked with them (the dogs were the smart ones imho!!)

*sigh

I feel sad and empty...

Road Trip to Michigan on Sunday!! :cool1:

HAPPY BDAY DTD!
I hope you had a great one.

and thanks to everybody who wished me happy birthing day and happy bday to my cowgirl. Kay, I know raising teens isn't easy, I sure hope we make it through in one piece. We definitely have our moments.

Peej: She LOVED the Shia and Gerard pics.

Does anybody know who the Jonas Brothers are? Dd got tix to a concert for her bday. Guess who she wants to go with her? Yup, me. I only know one song!!! ACK! must learn songs quickly.

Avril Lavigne (how do you spell Lavigne?) is opening for them. I think I only know two Avril songs. Double ACK!!

Hope you guys are having a great week. Mine is crazier than heck.

Oh, ex-boyfriend and current wife showed up for my childbirth class tonight. She said to me "OH. I didn't know YOU were teaching the class.":confused3 hee hee
