Morning Moovers!

Let's make it three in a row.

PJ: That was well, mooving. It sounds like your family did a wonderful thing for a wonderful person. I actually loved the piece you shared. Thanks.

Twinks: Hope you went back to sleep some. And baseball games are a riot. I'm just sad that my boys didn't want to play this year. Instead, we are going to various Tiger games.

Mo: Drink Orange Juice, and eat lots of broccoli. I hope you are better today.

Wendy: I really like your cowboy room. When you are done, you can come over here and use your mad decorating skillz.

Marita: Don't forget to look for lose change in that couch.

Where's Sandy? Probably hanging out with Nebo.

He's on the thread! Thanks for starting that Marita. That's gonna be another fun thread.

Well today is the first Final Exam. I should ace it. World Geography. Easy.

Tim went to Scranton PA today for the week.

Oh I forgot to tell you, he earned enough miles to redeem a ticket for my mom to Orlando, round trip, and all we paid was $75.00.

Happy Monday!:dance3:

Morning all,

Marita-- glad you get to see your son this morning after all.

Mony-- you really scored at Best Buy yesterday. you have your pictures back.

Moo-- stay away from the sick people !!!

UMA-- that wasn't the colour I thought of when you said taco but it turned out nice. You must have had a stressful week with your hubby's job and all glad it all worked out for you.

Twinkie-- I love watching Nicholas play baseball too, Hannah not so much so it is great if there are other girls around. Which child lost a tooth, must have been one hard apple.

P.J.-- I loved the passage and you got to share memories of your grandma.

Yesterday at Communion there were 3 white dresses, 3 ivory dress and I kid you not one MINT green dress!!! I was going to post that yesterday and then you posted you wore green....:lmao: maybe your related!!

KAY! Please reveal your secret for getting a week at the BCV for under $300. I won't tell anybody.

This is the second time I have done this. Last time I got a one bedroom in Old Key West. Normally, I wouldn't want to suffer through a whole week with only a studio but the Beach Club is a great location and I am dying to use that pool! Plus we can always use our other unit when we want more space. :woohoo:

Here's how it works: We own three non-Disney timeshares. One in Orlando, one on the "Big Island" of Hawaii and one in Maui. When I "bank" either of my Hawaii units with the timeshare exchange company, they give me an "accomodation certificate" as a reward for giving them my very desireable Hawaii week. The accomodation certificate allows us to book a unit that is either sort of a last minute vacation within 45 days, or is in a location that has a surplus of units due to being off season. There are quite a few months in Orlando that are considered off-peak. Grant you, Disney units are always in high demand no matter what month it is, but Disney resorts do show up occassionally among the available surplus inventory. Most often, it's Old Key West or Saratoga Springs, but the other resorts show up from time to time. A studio is $199, a one bedroom is $249 and a two bedroom is $299.00. Then Disney charges on top of that a $95.00 fee that offsets the cost of resort transportation etc. None of the other resorts charge an extra fee and some people complain about the $95.00, but I figure I'm getting a good deal and I'm not going to complain about $95.00.

Good Morning Moooovers!

PJ: How nice you all did that in memory of your grandmother and for her friends.

DS12's team came in second in their 13-team tournament this past weekend. He pitched the semifinal game that got them into the championship game. They play six innings and he pitched five of them and did most excellent. Although he got into a lot of jams, he worked hard and was able to get out of them with zero or only one run scoring so I was especially proud of him for the competitive spirit that he showed.

On a personal note, I hit a highlight of sorts in my life yesterday. As of yesterday, I have now been married to DW more days than I was single.

Everyone have a fantastic Monday (well, as good as Mondays can be).

First and Foremost:

Happy Birthday to Celery's Mama!
I won't tell you how old she is, but let's just say it's a milestone.
And she was born in 1948.
:rolleyes1
I'm taking her out tonight.
She asked for Mexican, knowing it's Cinco De Mayo.
And knowing her daughter can not resist tequila!
so she's driving. :confused3

Second and soremost:
to pj  That was a lovely passage.

third and thoremost:
I got an A in both of my classes!!!! :cool1: In spite of doing crappy on the final in one ofthem! Woo!
But the school suspended my official account and classes are over so I dunno if I can get it reinstated anytime soon.
I like to see it OFFICIALLY before I believe I got an A.
Plus I need to register for the fall.

mony - so glad you got all yer stuff back! good luck on the final!

Cirque was excellent for what it is, but it's just not my thing.......
I wanted more details!!!!
I love buca di beppo!
congrats on your DD's graduation! for Son leaving soon.
DH came home this week with a Wii.
At least they get exercise with the wii.

I hate messy hands
I do too! I'll use bottled water to rinse my hands if I'm out somewhere. hee.

It will be staged in a vintage cowboy motif. I made some bandana curtains and found some neato cowboy prints framed in rustic wood. I made a night light out of an antique red oil lantern.
You are definitely the Martha of the West.
Congrats on DH's new job!

strangle.gif
I  this smilie.

Oh, this post is for Celery.

So DD was standing between me and Dh at dinner for a minute, and chatty BF grandpa says to her: "you are a perfect mix of your mom and dad" and DD says, well, I hope there was no milkman involed"

I ALMOST said, "no, it was a breadman!"
:rotfl: When he calls, I have to read him this post.

I sliced my finger cutting Hannah a piece of french bread.
ACK! Hope you're doing ok!

However the highlight of the afternoon was when one child bit into her apple and a tooth popped out.
The highlight of Camden's T-ball game was definitely NOT the playing. :sad2: He was off his game.
The highlight was his "friend" Jenna coming over to see him.
A girlfriend and he's only in kindergarten!
Then his sister told me and his dad he kisses the 4th graders! :scared1:

Hi to everyone else!!!!

Hi from my new laptop!

It works!

And ALL my pictures were recovered!

:cool1:

YAY! I want one too! I want to be able to DIS any lazy place. I'm glad you recovered your pictures! I had that scare too once. Now we make disc copies. I SHOULD take them to Costco and get paper copies and get a move on my scrapbooking!!!!

Evening, Moovers. :grouphug:

Utah...yikes. Sorry to hear about Norah and DH's job. Is Norah feeling any better? That cowboy room is AWESOME! If I had a little boy, I would totally hire you to decorate his room, that's too cute!

Today was a bittersweet day for me. I don't know if I mentioned this at the time, but the day of my grandmother's funeral, Cincinnati got a huge snow/ice storm. Many people couldn't make it to the funeral, and the roads were horrible. Since obviously most of my grandma's friends were older, a lot of them didn't even try to come. We never felt quite right about that, so I suggested we do a memorial service. My grandma loved spring more than anything because she was a huge gardener and loved her flowers. So, we decided to do the memorial service once we were sure it would be spring! We held it this afternoon. The people at Hospice actually helped us to coordinate it and provided the meeting space for it. Have I mentioned how AMAZING everyone at Hospice was? Many of her friends came out, and we took time to share our favorite memories about her, sing some songs, and just honor her life. I lit a candle at the beginning of the service and then it was also my job to extinguish it at the end. That was hard, but I am so glad that everyone who wanted to do so finally got to say goodbye. I also shared a reading from a book I've been working through. I'd like to share it with y'all if you don't mind, but as always, feel free to skim....

!
I LOOOOVE this side of you!!!! Your heart couldn't BE any bigger. That is such a great tribute to you Grandmother. You made me all choked up

As for Pissy, she's still coughing but hopefully the pediatrition will give her some of the "good stuff" to help her today.

Utah- I used to have a room that color (only a smidge more lemon). The paint chip was called Sugar Cookie which may be why I picked it. :upsidedow PS: Very sneaky and almost Pollyannaish:rolleyes1 on slipping in the new job info. Congrats to you both. I know what you mean on the the mad funk vibe that can follow people home.

Yesterday we went to DS's baseball game. It was the Future Third Baseman's first experience. He loved it. I could tell that he was soaking it all in. He did snooze during the fourth inning and so did our team. :headache: I think his favorite part was the on-tap concessions. Ha. Ninja child hung out in the dugout and was so cute as he copied the big kids by yelling useful comments and practicing his pitching and sliding. The girls made friends with the other little sisters. However the highlight of the afternoon was when one child bit into her apple and a tooth popped out. It wasn't even loose. She couldn't stop grinning. pixiedust: She did NOT engineer a cowbell triggered trap for the Tooth Fairy. She did insist that the Fairy wanted the tooth to be carefully ziploc'd which made sense to me.

Sugar Cookie? Isn't that similar to "Toasted Sesame"? ;)

At least the Tooth Fairy COMES to your house :cool2: She tends to arrive days late at our house.

Crap, I'm feeling guilty my boys are no longer in organized sports. Maybe I should rent them an athletic Big Brother to bring them up to speed. They're more into dirt bikes, sports, Legos, Yu Gi Oh, bugs, showing Mama their insects, skateboarding, snowboarding, and trampoline bone breaking. BOYS!

Wendy....More food paint?! Really? Can't wait to see how it comes out. My dining room is red and I have a nice pale yellow/gold ready to paint it with. But then the living room will need painting too. Then the trim. :headache:

Today's task is the makeover of the Red livingroom wall. It's a massive vaulted wall, so this should be "fun". I'm using joint compound to add randomly troweled stucco-like patterns. Then goes the "Nacho Chip" paint. Then a ragged on wash of a tea colored glaze. Producing an Tuscan feel. IN MY MIND, IT'S BEAUTY-FULL.

Melinder, I have to say, I LOVE your morning posts! You always make my day!

Wendy: I really like your cowboy room. When you are done, you can come over here and use your mad decorating skillz.
:
Tim's GONE....You get the WHOLE bed????
That was using a budget of zero with stuff I already had. I still need to do a few things. I'm There! If you provide snacks.
UMA-- that wasn't the colour I thought of when you said taco but it turned out nice. You must have had a stressful week with your hubby's job and all glad it all worked out for you.

Mint? I've only seen or heard of white or a variant of white. Cool, edgey kid!!!!
I'm so glad it went well  Did you take pictures? Enquiring minds, Nabby!

The pictures, unfortunately just gave the idea of the colo(U)r I was trying to describe. I STILL haven't seen your peanut butter walls, missy. I showed you mine, you gotta show me your's!

Geez, that's cool! You should be very proud!

So you're saying your OLD? :cool2:

Good Morning!
muh-55.gif

PJ: It sounds like a lovely service. I'm glad you were able to do that for her.

Twinkie&Robin: I spent 5 nights at the ballfield last week. But it feels like a second home to me. I literally spent my summers growing up on a baseball field. Yay about your ds RobIn. My brother was a pitcher. I was kinda hoping one of my boys might be too, b/c I know my brother would have LOVED to give them a few pointers. So far I've had two 3rd basemen and the redhead has been seeing a lot of the action behind the plate as a catcher. Johnny Bench was one of my favorite players growing up, so I kinda liked that. Heck, I dont really care what position they play. I just enjoy watching them. yikes. i'm rambling on about sports. i'll stop.

Utah:
YeeHaw indeed. A cowpoke room!
2.gif
Hope Norah feels better.

Nab: Sorry about your medical drama.
5.gif

DTD: Nice to see ya again. I missed the whole Sandy thing too. Looks like Lex and I are in the same :boat:

Monica: You got a new laptop. :woohoo:

Moo&Celery: Is your packing done? Did you make room for any crashers?:rolleyes1

Celery's Mama: Happy Giving Birth To Celery Day!!!

 Marita, Snarkgirl, Sandy, Pumba, Allie, Kay, Java, WT and LilG. Where did Poly go?

can you stand one more tooth fairy story?

We were out of town this weekend. The redhead lost another tooth. He was concerned that the tooth fairy might not be able to find his exact location. His face literally looked like this Saturday afternoon::idea:

"Mom, since you had Santa's phone number, wouldn't you have the tooth fairy's phone number too? Can we text them and ask them if they know where I am and can I have TWO dollars this time?" (sidenote: my kids get $5.00 for the first tooth and $1.00 for each tooth thereafter)

What was I to do? I texted the tooth fairy. duh. Except I might have had to rename somebody in my cell phone in able to do this.:rolleyes1

So the tooth fairy texts back and says they can find him and yes, he can have two dollars. The redhead grabs the phone and reads the text from the tooth fairy and boy is he excited.

I said "See. I told you she could find you."

He says "Don't you mean he SLASH she?"

:confused3 (but then I got it, cuz I'm a freakin genius?? he/she)

He says "We don't know if the tooth fairy is a girl. We should say he SLASH she, just in case the tooth fairy is a boy"

So any time I would refer to the tooth fairy as a "she" He would say "MOOOOOMMM!!!!!" and then I would have to say "I mean he SLASH she"

hee hee. that's all the cute kid stories I got this morning. have a good one.

2. Way to skim! It's my mom's birthday, not my birthday!
3. That redhead!

Pumba - Megara will be fine! or at least we'll pretend she is while we're at WDW. hee.

Riley's going to stay with my mom.

He got in so much trouble this weekend! He went and rolled in cowpoop in the field!!!!!
bunches!
I had to go out to the field, convince him to come to the edge of the fence and grab him.
and yes, I popped him one.
then put him in time out in his crate.
Camden kept asking if Riley could come out of time out yet. NO! He was a bad dog!

Watch it RobIn. NEVER mess with a 40-something woman. We know stuff and can easily take down a young PUP such as yourself. :scared:

Melinder, I have to say, I LOVE your morning posts! You always make my day!

PJ

See, this is so great about our circle of friends here. We can laugh and cry together.

I now have to go wake up my crashed on the couch son (again, I tried earlier, he has been up since midnight to work) so he can sleep a little more and go hit the road to ALABAMA tomorrow.

ETA: he announced he is going to spend the night on the couch

OK fine, I will see him tomorrow then... Maybe he can talk to his grandmother too before he leaves.

Alllie, keep an eye out for him OK? You are the closest, I think

It's a beeeuutiful day up her in 'Bama, so he should have good travelin' weather. I'll keep the light on for him, so he don't get lost. ;) Oh, and here's a  for you since you're left behind. :sad1:

On a personal note, I hit a highlight of sorts in my life yesterday. As of yesterday, I have now been married to DW more days than I was single.

Everyone have a fantastic Monday (well, as good as Mondays can be).

Congrats Rob! My DH teases me that in a couple of years I will have lived with him longer than I lived with my parents growing up. Congrats on your DS' tournament! :thumbsup2

Wendy - The HGTV folks would be proud of your cowboy themed staging. :cool2: I'd buy it just based on that room. Congrats on hubby gettin' a new job that's givin' you the fine opportunity to come down here to the fine SOUTH! :cool2:

PJ - What a sweet memorial for your grandma. I'm sure she was smilin' down on you yesterday.

CEL - Tell your mama Happy Birthday for me! She's 10 years younger than mine. That should make her feel better. ;)

Has Sandy's 'puter gone wonky again? :confused3

Celery- Troy says HI. He's minutes away from me as we speak!!!! "What time is it???" *feeeel the jealousy*

OH YEAH????? Well, guess what?
Hayden (breadman's daughter) gets to be an extra in the Hannah Montana movie.
So :snooty:

Your mom is younger AND she has multiple grandkids? :sad2:
Don't think that'll make her feel better.

NO. Your mom is 10 years younger than my mom. Mine will be 70 next month. She keeps reminding us of this momentous occasion of which we are celebrating in conjunction with her 50th wedding anniversary and my dad's 70th b'day. Now maybe she'll feel better. K?

Gosh! I pulled a babycow!
;)
ok.
I'll tell my mom that maybe in ten years she'll have grandkids!
ha.

Thanks to everyone who commented on the memorial. You had such kind words to say, it's almost like you like me or something!

Peej - Sounds like you had a beautiful service for your grandma. That was such an appropriate passage. I think it helps to have that kind of closure.
I totally agree. The day of the funeral was so stressful with the bad weather and all the emotions were so fresh that it was nice to have another chance to say goodbye, if that makes sense.

PJ- How lovely to have a memorial service. Also here are some more hugs for job hunting and anything else that might require them   PS: I am loling about your mint green first communion dress.
I need to find some pictures of that. Because it is really funny to look at the whole group of little girls in white and then me in green. I also took this memory to mean that I don't need to buy the new cap and gown for gragiwashon. I will wear Hollywood's and once again be the odd one out, in keeping with the tradition. And thanks for the hugs.

PJ
....I loved your passage. What a wonderful way of comforting your family. I couldn't have gotten through it without crying. You're a brave girl.
Who's to say I got through it without crying? :rolleyes1 I just had one brief recomposure moment but then I got it together. :thumbsup2

And here I was trying so hard to keep that under wraps.

Oh, clever, real clever. You FREAK!

You pulled a PJ? :rotfl2:
At least she didn't pull a Monica. No, not mony Monica, Monica from Friends. Anyone ever seen that episode? Anyone? Come on, someone's seen it! And if you haven't, you should have. :snooty:

I just had my exit interview. The questions were reallllly great. They were things like "are you a compassionate teacher?" "do you value students from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds?" "do you think you'll make a good teacher?" It was really all I could do to not be a smart astarstar and say I have no compassion toward any of the little brats and then just walk away.

1. True dat!

2. Wendell, I told Natasha that HSM3 is filming near you, and she about died! She asked if we could go visit you. Heehee! She's all OVAH Troy!

Loved the cowboy-themed room. Cute! Boris' room is done in a nautical theme: custom-made bedding with lighthouses, ship's wheels and sailboats, plush various nautical-themed accoutrements around the room. He loves it!

Hey to all you MOOvers! Boris' Communion went well, as did the party. Thanks to all you well-wishers!

Marita, congrats on your DD's graduwashion and  for your son's upcoming departure.

Mo, I have new laptop envy! I DESPERATELY want a new one, but DH is having NONE of that.

BBN, that redhead is too much! Cowbell traps and texting the Tooth Fairy! What a character!

Peej, that was a beautiful passage. It made me cry. Quel surprise, I know! I'm sure your g-ma was smiling down on you!

NAB, hope your finger is feeling better!

Cel, happy b-day to your mama!

Hey to anyone I missed! Have a great afternoon!
