Moo, are you staying with Cel in May???????

I left work early again today. After forecast presentation, which went very well.

The giirls asked if I wanted to go to Olive Garden for lunch, but I was still feeling beurky, so I declined. I said I was going back to the office, but on the way back changed my mind, and just went home. Had a long talk with the boss about stress factor today. I did some work from home, some more to do.

Cel, congrats on the interview, but think about managing 30 peoplle. :scared:

OK, I still feel beurky and need to eat something and work more.

Can I just retire now??????????? Please?????????

DRAMA! of the unwanted variety (as is all drama).

The principal of my boys' elementary school called and she said Dallen's class was having some theft problems so they had all the kids clean out their back packs. Dallen plunked out an M-8 firecracker (a biggie). Then he handed it over to his teacher (thank God) and didn't wave it around or show anyone (points in his favor).

He says he has no idea how it got there. His teacher said Dallen did the right thing by turning it over right away. But. The school has a zero tolerance of anything that could possibly endanger the children (which I'm glad for).

He was drilled thoroughly and Dallen still insisted he didn't know how it got there. No he didn't find it on the walk to school. No, his older brother didn't borrow his back pack. Etc.

In his favor, Dallen is honest to a fault, but if it was either of his brother's I'd just wonder if they were lying.

So. Even if someone stuck it there, Dallen still must be punished because he was in possession. He has to clean up trash around the playground after he eats lunch tomorrow, and spend half the day in the principal's office doing his school work.

YIKES, huh? I'm sort of freaked out because nothing remotely like this has ever happened. Granted, it could have been way worse. He's was clinging on me the whole time there. This principal is sort of a scary one. But I thought she handled it fairly.

I picked a fine time to give up the hooch. :rolleyes1

ACK! We had a similar incident with our kindergartner James last school year. I don't know that I can recall every detail but it was basically something like... The principal called me at work and left a voice mail asking me to call him back and have him paged if necessary because he needed to talk to me. So I called and did wait on him to get to a phone somewhere in the school and he gets on the phone and tells me James brought a knife to school yesterday. I was like WTH? James doesn't even own a knife, nor do any of his brothers. (Not that I have anything against them. I think it's fine for boys to carry pocket knives around AT HOME but my boys just have never had the interest in owning one.) He said he had James in his office that morning and he talked to James and James confessed to having a knife at school.

Well, after some more conversation, I found out that the principal never saw the knife and the teacher never saw the knife but another student in the class had said he had one. But because no one had actually seen it, they couldn't really punish James but the principal still wanted me to know. I assured him I would talk to James and both DW and I did that night. Turns out what James took to school was a letter opener (still could be dangerous), not a knife, and he didn't even know what it was or that he had grabbed it. What he had done was grab a whole hand full of pens out of the "pen coffee mug" that all of the pens are stuck in and the letter opener happened to be mixed in with the pens.

Glad to hear that Dallen is relatively unscathed and hugs to you Wendy.

wendy - ACK!

Marita - I'm bored, remember! I'd gladly take the stress (and money) of managing 30 people as opposed to feeling like my job is pointless!

also, I was thinking the dog died. I guess it was the ferret I was thinking of. poor puppy.

mine ran away to my mom's again.

I hope she has something good for dinner.
I need a break from seam ripping. hehe.

Why do we have not 1, not 2, but THREE 8oz bags of unopened shredded Mozarella???????

Hey, a giant pizza sounds GOOG!

Hi everyone! Just stopping in to check out the new pasture. Very nice. I see a few spring wildflowers. What a thoughtful touch, Moo!

It finally seems like Spring in NY, or maybe even summer. We went from 40 degrees to 75 - 80 in a week or two. Yikes! It was so nice out today I cooked my famous "hotdogs over the gas burner on the stove" and we had lunch while rocking in the Adirondack chairs on our front porch. :goodvibes

HI!!!!!!! NY sounds lovely. I'll TAKE it! We still have fluttery stupid snow every so often.

MMMM, hotdogs are the best! Well, and burgers. I'm in a picnic/bbq meat mood, I guess.

I know I won't have the time to make daily appearances and keep up on everyone's news, which makes me feel very guilty, but if you all don't mind, I'll stop by from time to time and see what everyone is up to.

Today I was starting some seeds in potting soil, and Lowell was out cutting down trees! He decided we needed three less trees near the turn-around area of our driveway. Boom Crash, trees gone! Also, he has been clearing lots of scrubby little trees from the new lot we bought next door. I started raking last years's leaves (ahem. . . procrastinator!) and I have a blister already even with wearing gloves. I'm such a wimp!

UMA and SIS, it sounds like you two have the polar opposites in weather. I can sympathise about the snow, UMA, since we still have a couple patches of snow that haven't melted. They were once very deep drifts. If I'm lucky they'll be gone in a few more days and there will be no more reminders of winter.

Kay, show up when you can, better than not showing up anytime!

Wendy, DH does the shopping, but I guess that does not keep him from remembering what we have at home, so I guess I need to forgive him for getting triple supplies. Cause if I dare to critize, he would tell me to do it myself.
PERISH THE THOUGHT!

(I think I jumbled up that sentence somewhere, but oh well)

Dog stew, anyone????????

with cheese???

For a GIANT pizza? :confused3

That was my thought!! ;) (only I do make mine from scratch - frozen???!)

Moo, are you staying with Cel in May???????
That's the plan! Sorry you had a beurky day :grouphug: Hope things get better for you. Work stress is NO fun :sad2:

YAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! :yay: Kay is back!!! Goog to see you! Pop back in whenever you can :)

I see Kay and Sandy are here tonight......:woohoo:

Kay our weather has been really nice too!! We had a lot of snow this winter but I am glad to say it has been gone for weeks now.

Celery-- I hope you get the job, when is the next interview now?

Marita-- I wish you could retire. You are way to stressed out lately and not eating. :sad2: I wouldn't advise you to eat 3 bags of cheese though :lmao:

My day has been not going well either. The kitchen guy had problems and had to take my cabinets back down, then since he had to take them down he had to make another hole to put them up, one hole left a crack in the wood. :scared1: Then we thought the fridge wouldn't get pass the island and the island would have to be moved which was already screwed to the floor, then we worried that it would leave a hole in my new tile. But that didn't happen we did something else thank goodness.

Then when I picked the kids up, Nicholas teacher wanted to talk to me. I thought oh no. I guess he was crying at lunch but he wouldn't tell her why. Others said a kid knocked him down for a ball but he said that wasn't it. I guess the same kid told him that he dances with a girl that looks like a guy at the church dances. Which isn't true of course but he took it to heart.

But the good news of the day .....I don't have to report for emergency Jury Duty because the case settled out of court.
