Moo'vers 2012 Edition! come on in!

Moo, end of September, wow. Congrats! I may move mine up, who knows. I'm just afraid of total boredom.

PS. I remember your siggie with the cow racing to the barn, LOL, The cow is a little late.
Haha, that was back when I thought retirement at 55 might be feasible, Marita!!! I think it'll be better financially now with our house and DD's college loans paid off.

Nabbie - I am loving having the house to myself with hubby being away, so I took today off work to do some decluttering. Have only made a little progress so far. Got sidetracked reading a book. It is nice sitting here with the gas fireplace on low, a cup of tea, and a beeswax candle burning! Hang in there - I'm sure you know that grief can take many years :grouphug:

Pumba, DD and I already did our Disney trip last month and I'm ready to go back! Have to wait until October, though :(

Hi Pumba, nice to see you over here again! Stay away from DTD unless you take a bus or boat, it
's a mess!
Nabbie, it is sad when you lose a loved one, it takes time for sure.
I have been working my buns off, and i still haven't finished my taxes, arghhhh!

Pumba, I agree with Marita about taking the bus or boat to DTD. We were at Saratoga Springs so we could walk, but I understand parking is difficult. Lots of construction walls, but it was still fun to visit.

Just testing my ticker.... We are going to melt!!!

Marita -- How are the wedding plans going? How is your foot will you be walking on it by then?

Moo-- Did you get that nasty weather the other night? We got some of it. I can't believe how windy it has been .

Hi Nab,
Wow, vacation again? Lucky woman.
My foot is ok, in a cast for 5 weeks. 2 weeks down, 3 to go. And it sucks, I cant walk on it, so I roll on this knee walker between the couch, the bathroom and sometimes the kitchen. I havent had more than 4 hours sleep at a time since the surgery. After the cast, I have to wear a boot for 4 weeks, but at least i will be able to walk again and go to work. It should be fine by wedding time. I am bored to tears! On the upside, I have discovered the Smithsonian channel on TV, they have some fascinating documentaries.
I really dont know how the wedding plans are coming, besides that she has her dress and the location.

That sounds like it really sucks Martia. I guess you will have to really plan things do when you retire . Sitting on the couch isn't a fun idea anymore.

We let Hannah be our travel agent, had her price everything out etc. This what we got....lol It is free dining and we can drive down so it makes it cheaper. We haven't seen all the newer stuff at Magic Kingdom so that is what she wants to do. If we let Nicholas do it he would have had us in Germany this summer. With my brother still sick , it has been one year since we found out he has pancreatic cancer. He is still throwing up a lot and now has trouble breathing at times So I want to stay closer to home. Not to mention his would be way more expensive, we have a big college bill this year. Housing alone is going to kill us.

Darn, I'm not seeing your ticker, Nabbie! What are your travel dates? I'm not going back until mid-October probably. Still not sure of the dates, but only 70 more work days left!

Marita - Darn uncommunicative daughters!!! Mine is horrible about keeping in touch, but my hubby was just in NC with her for a week again. Grrr. Guess our daughters are Daddy's girls...

Moo we are going Aug 22...it is going to be really hot but it is just before Nicholas is off to college and Hannah goes back to school. Don't like taking them out of school so summer it is.

Hope those 70 work days go fast , but not the days you have off to have fun.

Hannah is already bored at home and it has only been a week. I told her she should have gone to summer school or get out and get a job. Might looking into something she can volunteer at too so she doesn't ask me everyday ..".Are we doing anything today". I can not go to the mall everyday....lol

They both are going to a youth conference though the church in July . They go to Ohio so that will keep them busy for a short time. Nicholas took extra hours at McDonld's over the summer too so he will be busy too.

Sounds like a good plan for Hannah, Nabbie! Happy Canada Day!

I don't think I would brave WDW in August, but I know that's the only time a lot of people can go. Wish you could be there in October. We need to plan a girls trip there for the winter...

I am leaving work now and am off for a long holiday weekend of relaxation. W00t!!!

Moo, long relaxing weekend sounds like fun. I have been off work for 8 weeks now, and 2 more to go, but it's no fun since I can't do anything but sit on the couch. I can't even carry a glass since I have to steer this damn knee walker. I am so bored!! Really looking forward to going back to work, and maybe I will even postpone retirement.

Moo -- Hope you enjoy your long weekend. We had fireworks going off left in right in our neighbourhood and at a controlled area that was close that we could see them from the front porch.

Marita-- I miss socializing with the people from work, still do. Only socializing I get is though our church or say hi to other parents I might come across.

Nicholas got his first speeding ticket last night. Wasn't really going that fast but for some reason he didn't put his lights on and that is how he got stopped. He was doing 115 in a 100km zone. Usually they don't bother you unless you are going over 120. It is for $52 and no points off. But oh didn't stop there .....this morning hubby goes outside to find he parked facing the wrong way on the street. That will be a $45. ticket for that. First they are not allowed to park on our street overnight but they got his car sprayed underneath so we told him t park on the street during the day, that is ok. So when he came home he parked on the street but he was upset about the first ticket and parked fast and came in.

Hubby is scared it will do something to his insurance since he is only 18. I sure hope not.

Yikes, Nabbie! It sure is hard to keep your composure when you are stopped and ticketed, so I feel a bit for Nicholas. Even when police come by to check on you, it can get your adrenaline going! I pulled over to the side of the road the other morning after swallowing too much of a bagel and having to cough it out and a State Police motorcycle officer stopped to see if I was OK. He was really nice, but it still gave me a start to see those lights!!! And they run your license plates regardless...

Marita - Sorry you're having such a boring recovery! I did a ton of reading when I was off work for my knees, but I did still stay in touch with friends, so that helped a lot. Rehab took up a lot of time too.

I submitted my final retirement paperwork today. WooHOO! 62 work days...

WDW trip scheduled for late October!!!

WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations, you have been waiting long enough for this.

I, on the other hand, am considering pushing mine out another month or so.

Marita -- is the foot getting any better?

Moo-- what great news for you . Hope they go by really fast for you.

The kids were away at a youth conference last weekend so it was just hubby and I . Ended up going to a casino a few hours away , and coming home late. Then went to a festival the next day. It was nice just the two of us but we were constantly saying what should we do now. ...

Thanks! I'm pretty excited. It can't come soon enough!!! I'm trying to figure out some non-Disney activities to do in Florida after our time at WDW and whether hubby would be interested in doing them. I'm thinking about a ferry trip to Key West.

Nabbie - You will be an empty nester before you know it ;) My work friend Debbie is thinking about retiring in January...

Marita, when are you back to work?

Well, I went back to work today, to my regret. My heel is killing me,d to where I could barely walk home with a cane tonight. So tomorrow I am staying home and calling the Dr. Just googling, it looks like it may be an inflammation from long rest. So right now my spirits are not the best.....

Ouch! Were you able to get around the house comfortably before going back to work? Did you have any rehab? If not, seems like you need a bit of work return prep! Or just go ahead and retire!!!!! ;)
