Don did pretty well with his vision correction surgery. Much better than I was expecting him to do because his eyes are pretty sensitive, but then he has an extremely high pain threshold. It is more irritation than pain though and they give you Valium and put lots of drops in your eyes to numb them up for the procedure. Plus, they talk you through it so its not too bad. He said his eyes didn't bother him much, but he has had to do lots of drops this weekend.

The results really are worth it!

I went to see the Shrek musical tonight with my sister, her BFF, and my niece tonight. I bought a ticket for my sister for Christmas and she bought a ticket for our niece for Christmas. We went out for sushi beforehand (yum!) and we all really liked the show. My sis and I still liked Mary Poppins better, but this was a close second.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!

Kids are having a hard time getting out of bed this morning. Now Nicholas has caught Hannah's cold, I can hear him sniffling up there. That and it is Monday after all.

The weatherman was right for a change and we have it mild again today. My computer says it is +5 out there....practically spring.

Hubby is off today too so not sure what is in store for today. I'm sure we will be out. We never stay home when he is home. I think he just doesn't want me to put him to work on odd jobs needed to be done.

Yes my Valentine's Day was very nice thank you.

Now there is a lot of chocolate in the house too.

Hannah got 10 Valentine's out of 28 kids. She was happy she took candy in for them since she didn't do Valentines. I could tell she was disappointed that she didn't do them but we really didn't think she would this year since she didn't get Christmas cards like normal this year.

Stayed in today and made a nice roast for dinner and all hubby's favourite things.

Nothing much to report here today. Both Khaki and I managed to show up for the tour for the director this morning at dark-o-9AM (early even), so YAY! All went fine, except for one snafu when the guy that runs the rehabs was supposed to meet us to show the model room for the Magnolia section, he is the only one with a key (we could get keys for all the other rooms, and managed to run into one that was occupied, OOPS!). Turned out he hurt his back and never made it to work and nobody told us.

Boring week looming ahead, some analysis to do where people who do this for a living dont have answers, and new director expects us to figure it out! I think I might make the treck to Panera for lunch tomorrow and get some broccoli-cheddar soup and french bread for lunch.
I think it will be an early night, I got up early today, yawnnnnn....

Moo, glad your hubby is doing well with his eyes. Hubby had it done years aga and had some problems, but i think that was like 25 or more years ago, they made a lot of progress.

Oh, a DME truck got hit by a semi this morning, 5 people ended up in the hospital (nothing serious), but a rode was closed for a while and they said 150 gallons of diesel spilled from the semi. (who knew they had tanks that large????)

They say we are coming into a warm spell for a few day. Even hitting double digits. Can't wait for that. Need to melt some more of this snow. It is really dirty looking now ...yuck.

Marita-- what is a DME truck? The accident sounds bad. Glad no one died.

Hubby is back to work , I think I will go out and look for a scrap book to put all my pictures from the cruise into. I usually buy one on the boat with the date on it but it slipped my mind this time. Going to my mom's on the weekend to tell her about the trip so I want to get the pics in a book.

Both kids have something going on tonight so I will be taxing them around. At least they are not at the same time so I can do both.

Well off to get the kids to school first.....

So "giss" what???? With my tax return, I, mother-extraordinaire, am going to book a Disneyland trip! Superdeedooper excited! Me, Travis (boyfriend of almost 2 yrs), my 3 youngest, and Travis's 4 yr old son who's never gone! Dont you just love seeing that first magical trip through a little guy's eyes? I cant wait! My kids havent been in a few years so I'm going to do my best to "WOW" them.

Planning this to be a road trip too. YIKES. It'll be the ultimate test.

For me, planning IS half the fun! So far, I've concluded we have to rent a mini-van to take since my '94 Berb is not up to the task. I want to get a DVD player or figure out how to use my laptop for the kids to watch movies. Then of course, there's Twinkie's PNDQ game!

Guess I lay low when I am sort of down in the dumps....I think I expect a house to drop in our laps that we both will like...I keep hoping the right place will come out...but most of them are either short sales or foreclosures...I just want a house...NOW IS THAT TO MUCH TO ASK... We would put a bid on a house if we think that it will last out a short sale....but you never can tell....our realtor told us to wait...

SOOOOOOO today my bs was 106...I love it..yesterday it was 104 ......so I must be doing something right in the food dept....

71 days till our trip......I am anxious to get rid of the snow and ice.......it is like a sheet of ice outside and it is hard to walk anywheres...
I would love to take Ava out for a walk but hard for me to stand up without worrying about holding her hand and both of us go down...

Just came back from the school , they had mass this morning. I do love going and seeing all the kids in the gym. See how mine behave..... Hannah loves when I come too because she is in the choir and wants me to hear her sing. Nicholas just complains about sitting on the floor. He can't sit cross legged and they don't like when he puts his legs out straight either. I told him only 4 more months he will not have to sit on the floor again.

We want a house in our own town ...we own a three story apartment bld that is almost all fixed up (my moms apartment) and when that is finished we will sell this one....so looking hard to get all our stuff into another home for us...I want a cape or a ranch...as long as it has a good size back yard and one that we can fence in for the doggie...also I want a good kitchen with either a big eat in section or a dining room...Hubby wants a garage and a good size cellar for his work shop...

Nab did you decide what school the kids are going to??? I dont know if I missed it or not...

Pumba, good luck on finding a house soon. You'd think it wouldn't be that hard with all the foreclosures around, but maybe that's cause Florida is hit really hard.

Wendy, yay for planning a trip. My trip planning to Montana consists mostely of hoping the weather is nice enough to spend my days pulling weeds from DS's vegetable garden, LOL, but hey, I take it! Speaking of DS, he got his paper recovered from the computer, YAY!

I spent a good portion of my evening looking when to take a day off. Director has a Town Hall meeting scheduled for Monday (President's day holiday, so I dont want to miss that). Things here and there every day that I can either not take a day off or dont want to. RATS! I'll figure something out....

Nab, did I say truck for DME? Maybe I was thinking of the Semi?

Never did hear for sure who's fault it was, but from the radio it sounded like the Semi's

Another attempt to make it to Earl of Sandwich for lunch scheduled for tomorrow, what do you want to bet it won't happen again??

our realtor from down south talked to me a few weeks ago and she said that if we wanted a condo with gated commmunity and swimming pool and amenities...NOW is the time......some that were going in the 125,000 mark are going for 50-75 now.......its just not our right time.....
One house at a time.......home house ...first...

daughter and daughter in laws birthdays are coming up next week.....so have to plan a dinner for us.......and then my neighbors husband doesnt want a 40th going over the hill party so we will have them over for dinner one night.

Why can the sun not be shining when the temps are up above 0... It is pouring rain out and the power has gone off twice now since I have been up.

I hate resetting all my clocks.

Pumba-- I believe he picked the Catholic High School but they are still wavering back and forth. Let's just say he is registered at the Catholic one right now.

When the kids are out and hubby is retired I think I would like a one floor house too. But we don't have plans on moving for a long time. 8 more years of school before she goes to college or University.

Hubby's birthday is on Tuesday so have to get out and get him something. He is hard to buy for. Hannah bought him slippers with her own money. It was funny becasue she was trying them on at the store to see which one was the softest inside.

Well out in the rain I go....first to drop them off at school, then shop and then back to the school for the Talent show, then home and back to school again to pick one up , then back to the school later to pick the other one up after ski club. Would make him walk home but his snowboard is pretty heavy at the end of the night.

Hey y'all! I hate my job. I need to break up with it. It's making me miserable. I'm not a quitter, but STILL. I'm lucky and blessed to have income and health insurance. I dread the 23 min drive to it, watch the clock nearly the entire time, and rejoice when I "clock out". ((sorry, just wanting to vent))

Nab-we had a quick storm last night and the power kept going off. I hate re-setting the clocks too. Your weather sounds DEE-lightful! Your DH is gonna love his new slippers, I'm sure...IF he gets to wear them!

Wendy-- what is your job? I remember you going to school but can't remember what for sorry. Health insurance is good to have, well I guess a job is good to have too especially if you are going to Disneyland. I can understand not wanted to go to a job you hate though.

It is nice outside....I took the Christmas lights off the front tree. The cord was frozen and under a lot of snow but today I could pull it out. Now to get hubby to take the ones off the house. I tried to put them down but it didn't work and I was not getting up on the ladder to take them down.

Report cards come home tomorrow....

And it is a long weekend too! We have Family Day on Monday. Everything is closed up.
