I should start packing eh! I do have the suitcases up from the basement and sitting in my bedroom.

Need to check the kids shoes. Don't know if Hannah's sandles still fit. Nicholas lives in his running shoes so don't have to worry there.

We are going to Universial for two days prior to the cruise. Nicholas will be over the moon. He is a huge Harry Potter fan. I heard crowds have been crazy there though.

Kids went back to school this very cold morning. My agenda is do nothing today.... Well do have to make a banana loaf with the very ripe bananas today or maybe I will just put them a freezer bag and be done with it.

good thing you reminded me Nab.......I have four bananas in the freezer bags in the freeze....need to do that too....I love a good moist banana bread......I did the box mix for the Christmas Parties.......so will save one real b bread for us.

Just had lunch and Ava is getting her pull up ready for nappie.......

I may sign up for weight watchers and see if I can get that added boost to lose the weight that is NOT leaving my body......Maybe this is what I need for an incentive......but maybe if I really was good I could do it without help.......we will see later on ....

see ya later

Both my mom and DH heard Rickie Lake talking about a website she is promoting for kids who are overweight to help them come to terms with their health and deal with it in a positive way, so DH looks into it for Z, and guess what? You have to pay for it. That just burns me. You already are loaded Ms. Lake, if you truly want to help kids, why charge for it?

Oh, to help pay for the beach house you burned down?

Sorry, just a little steamed. Rant over.

Pumba: If I was being too personal, I apologize, I sometimes forget about "the others" living on the other side of our happy little island. :lmao:

We have having a pretty, yes I said pretty, snowfall today that is actually accumulating. I hate the look of dead. If its gonna be cold, I would like some white stuff to look at.

I finished the purging of my pantry and dumped abunch of sweets and crackers outside, the critters are loving me right now. Better them than me.

Nab: Tim would love to take us on a cruise one day. And you are a good mom. I guess the snow is headed your way!

Moo: I had a friend who was trying to get approved for surgery to lose weight, she worked for me. She just hung up the phone with insurance after being told they wouldn't cover it and she went all ape crazy on me. To the point I told her to leave and she was no longer welcomed in my home. I can relate. It took a very long time for me to forgive her, but the friendship has never been the same.

Mony-- I saw Rickie Lake was on Primetime last night talking about her weight loss and they just mentioned her website but not much about it. So much for helping kids ...

They are calling for snow later, I too like the fluffy nice white stuff if I don't have to go anywhere and drive in it.

We are all good mom's our kids just don't realize it yet!!!

Good morning, ladies! It's back to seasonal temps here today, unfortunately. 38 degrees....that's about 35 degrees colder than my ideal temp, at least. I wish there was a way to fast-forward to early May weather. But I know that's wishing my life away. *sigh*

We have having a pretty, yes I said pretty, snowfall today that is actually accumulating. I hate the look of dead. If its gonna be cold, I would like some white stuff to look at.

Mony, you can have the snow that's still sitting in my yard. I betcha Pumba would give you whatever she has left too. ;)

I got my first unemployment benefits yesterday. A pitifully small amount, since it's 50% of one's average earnings. However, I did discover $40 sitting in a survey account of mine, so I requested a disbursement from there. Not much, but it's something. Also, DH has been getting TONS of overtime at work, which is coming in quite handy. I'm remembering to be thankful for what we DO have coming in, instead of focusing on what isn't.

I've been doing some writing work on various sites as well. It's not immediate money, but it dribbles in here and there.

Also, I'm helping my brother's GF plan a trip for their whole group (she has 1 son and he has 4 kids). That's been fun! They are looking at mid-October. It'll be the first WDW trip for my brother and all 4 of his kids. I'm keeping my eyes open for a PIN code for them, but right now all the discounts are for travel dates up to October 1.

Pumba, good idea! I think I'll make a banana bread too! I got a Kitchen Aid stand mixer from my mom for Christmas, and I can use it to make the banana bread, which will also warm up the kitchen a bit. Excellent! :woohoo:

Monica....YOu were not being personal....HONEST...Just if we go to Disney, and the anti moderators......well I wouldnt want to wear a bullseye on my shirt ..now would I......You guys in AK that one day I met a few of you......that is about as close as I have gotten to the outside world of Dis people.....I have some friends that I started moding with years ago ...even though some of them are not on anymore.....they are still very dear friends.......to me this meant alot....and you guys meeting you has meant alot.
Over my computer is a moose with a Canadian Mounty outfit on......he is my stuffie next to the real moose antlers that we have gotten...

I have to go on a GOOD diet and do it in two months......My doctors assistant called and I cried......well not to her but to my hubby.......If I dont get my Bs's down I will have to go on Meds.....and I dont want to......I know that diabetes is a progressive disease but I will try my darnest to keep the sugars down......so I cheated the last six or so months.....it wasnt worth it......I will eat less carbs and will do some exercising.....walking or doing the wii fit....something anything .....I hope I can do it in these few weeks.......keep me focused my friends...

Hi all, sorry I;ve been MIA for the last couple of day, work again! Did I mention I hate forecast? Actually, we were done with that yesterday, but then today we had to rerun things because of late postings, and then fill out some new hairbrained form that was confusing as all get out that I worked on till 9pm.

Pumba, your need to cut down on carbs reminded me of something the Chef here said today (as we were his running continually over budget in labor). The Disney Marathon is this weekend, so he said they would have to double the staff at the make your own pasta station the fist 2 days cause people want to load up on carbs before running, and then Sunday the Burger station will have HUGE lines, LOL.
If you go at the end of April, FQ should be all done with the rehab and you'll have queen beds.

Lynt, I'm sure unemployment pay sucks. Lucky your hubby is getting overtime. Mine is on salary, so that wouldn't even be an option for us, and he works tons of hours as is.

I'm tired! Hopefully I'll get out a bit early tomorrow, haha. That was the plan for today too,, but never happened, I worked till 9 :confused3

Hoper everyone has a good Friday!

Morning! Quick hello, taking Maddy to her ENT apt this morning. Did I mention there's a hole in her eardrum, for no reason?

She was complaining only the last 2 days, her tubes came out of both ears recently and are just laying in the ear canal, and that caused her some issues with her ears. I hope what ever they decide to do, it painless today.

Matt, my oldest is prepping for his Confirmation at the end of this month. Last night we had Reconciliation with his sponsor. He was brave and went first out of the group.

Have a great day, 12 degrees (F) out at the moment, brrrrr.

Hubby loves French Quarter...that was our first visit to the House of the Mouse....We were there for five days and when we arrived and we were in our room.......We looked at each other and said....what on earth are we doing here.....hahaha.....The next year we took our daughter and two grandkids.....and then every other year we would go by ourselves and then we would take them......She said the other day........Isnt it my turn again.....she is the pharmacy student.......we now take our little grandkids and their parents....I love the house of the Mouse...this will be our 25 or something trip there......we HAD to go for our 25th anniversary.....first time ...so we made plans and it was almost our 26th.........this time will be our 44th Wedding anniversary and we are still Disney freaks.......one year we went in May and then September and then in April when we brought the whole dang family and stayed at the Dolphin......

I am glad that your forecast is over with.........it will be more relaxing I hope for you.....

Have a good Day everyone........well FRIDAYS are good anyways

Poor Maddy, hope they fix her up with out pain too.

I remember prepping for Nicholas last year. Lost of Church meetings. They didn't have to go with their sponsors but Hannah and I went with him. Did our too at the same time.

It is cold but sunny out there today. Had to shovel a little snow this morning but it was the powder light stuff and not much.

Pumba -- I went on to WDW on my honeymoon the first time round. It was the first time there then , only went back when I had the kids and have been going ever since.

Don't care much for big headed doctors.

A mother knows what a mother knows.

2 of my children become sick free immediately after the insertion of tubes. This Dr. tells me that doesn't make physical sense. Although several moms have told him that. Time to rethink what you think if you ask me.

Anyways, rambling here, just need to watch, she has holes in both of her ears, but is kinda acting like permanent tubes. Her tubes happen to be resting in her canals but too far to reach at the moment. I'm sure I will find them on her pillow one day.

She is fine for now, go back in three months so he can tell me how much more nonsensical I am (wonder if that is even a word). It is today!

Snowing again, pretty fluffy snow that will eventually need to be shoveled.

Free movie night at Mal's school, Despicable Me, which we haven't seen yet.

Mony, tubes how weird about the tubes and eardrums. Hope it all turns out wll.

Pumba, i hope you enjoy your stay at FQ. I'll be right next door.

The marathon is this weekend. I saw tons of port-a-potties set up along the road on the way home. I guess it would really suck if you run a marathon and A) have to stop to pee (or worse) and B) having to use a port-a-potty.

I'm just happy it's Friday!

Weather is nice enough again for now, 70'ish, so maybe next week Khaki (new office girl) and I will finally take the boat to DTD to Earl of Sandwich for lunch, she's never been there. And just MAYBE I will take down the tree and get nails done and get an oil change........

Just want to say thanks for the commiseration regarding my situation with my friend. I'm still feeling kind of down about that whole thing :guilty:

And I also found out this evening that the sister of one of my high school friends who I am friends with on FB passed away unexpectedly. Her daughter just had just had her baby and she was with her through her 24+ hours of labor. We were told that she went to bed after being with her daughter in the hospital and didn't wake up. She was a few weeks out from hip replacement surgery, so I'm thinking that she may have thrown a blood clot while she was sleeping.

Mony - I feel for you on the doctor issues :grouphug: Glad to hear that Maddy is doing OK. Thank goodness we didn't get much snow!

Marita - Sounds like you have more food options at your new work location! Hope you're able to get some of your chores taken care of this weekend. I still need to take my tree and decorations down. Maybe tonight . . .

Nabbie - How's the packing coming along?! ;) Sure wish I could stowaway with you for the cruise!!!

I guess people are dropping like flies around here.

My sisters x sister in law who she is great friends with and we used to hang together years ago.....well her husband came home from work and she was on the bathroom floor dead....blows my mind ...this person is younger then us.....I feel so bad for everyone....life is not fair is it.....I was going to say a bad word about some woman of the night type of word.....and people around here that are stealing from people to buy drugs and they dont eat right or live right and they keep on living......people who care for themselves and live good lives drop....why oh why.

We took care of the two youngest rug rats and we had them for supper so their mama and dad could go on a date....we had great fun and then ...we played my new wii game....its a pin ball game....well we laughed our heads off (when the parents came back) so my dil who got me the new game ..she got on her phone and ordered pinball game too.....that is how much fun it is.
ITS like having Disney Quest in my house......I loved that place....hahaha

Why is it when people find out we are going to Disney.......there remark is AGAIN.....or why???? Well why not.....we do love it and can hardly wait for our next vacation in the sun....(well hopefully the sun)...

Went and looked at the outside of two properties that we thought we would like to look at .....well NOT......why do these realtors make such great photos of the places that look NOTHING like the land or the outside.....geesh..

Pumba - Why oh why??? That pretty much sums up how I'm feeling tonight. It really hits home when it is someone close to your own age. I wrenched my knee a bit last night while working out and I am pretty chicken about having to have a knee replacement down the road. Guess I'd better get serious again about getting some more weight off.

I can't tell you how many times I've had people ask me why I'm going back to WDW again, LOL! I sure could use a dose of it right now!!! It is definitely my "feel good" place.

Well, the weathermen have predicted (uh, for several days now) 4-7 inches of snow for our little Southern town. :woohoo: I know Moo, Lynt, and Pumba are all rolling their eyes at me. :sad2:

Since I am a working girl now, I usually grocery shop on the weekends, so I decided to get up early and go this morning. Good plan, I'll tell ya'! The manager told me that they sold out of bread and milk last night, but they had gotten a truck overnight, so I had my pick of milk. I got my week's worth, plus got DD a gallon of chocolate milk.

Went to Kohl's to return some Christmas things and got me some cute snow/rain boots. I'm ready! :rotfl2: I have a feeling we are going to use up our two weather days this week, and possibly more. Of course, DS says bring it on because Seniors get out earlier than everyone else and don't have to make up days when they add them to the end of the year.

Marita - Since I have run a couple of half marathons, I can say that if you 'have to go' while running, you are HAPPY to see the port a potties. ::yes:: Glad the runners had better weather than last year.

Mony - I wish your Dr. would listen to your mama instincts! Yay for Z and his healthy lifestyle changes!!

I just hope we don't lose power over the next couple of days. Southern snowbird out! :upsidedow

I finally used my food processor today to slice mushrooms. Havent made anything with them yet, they are sitting in the fridge, but they are lovely sliced mushrooms, LOL.

I haven't shed a single tear over my moms death and it is really bothering me. I loved her dearly, but she was 96 1/2, but still. It bugs me a lot. I feel like I need a good cry for all the crap that happened last year.
See, I am keeping with the spirit of tonight's thread.

Still havent gotten the tree down, I tried late tonight, but the box was in the back of the garage and the edger tuned on me and tried to cut me, so I backed off! Got more nicotine gum and lozenges today, and CVS had a deal of a $7 coupon for each, so I ended up getting $21 of stuff for free. Hairlcolor, toothpaste and blush. Also got some fettucine, alfredo sauce and shrimp at the store to make my own and take it to work instead of paying $10 at the food court. Of course none of this is good for my waistline, which is expanding since I quit smoking.

Allie, hope you dont lose power. Does it get that cold up there that you could?

Allie, hope you dont lose power. Does it get that cold up there that you could?

Yes, it can. The main reason we lose power is due to ice freezing on the trees and then the frozen trees fall on to power lines, etc. Luckily, it looks like we will get all snow with just a little ice after all the snow. Luckily our neighborhood has underground utilities, so that helps.

They are predicting for the snow to hit around 6:00 PM tomorrow. I have some WISH friends who live in Atlanta that are running the Full tomorrow, and they are worried about getting back home. They drove down, and their daughter's birthday is Tuesday. I think they should be worried, but I didn't want to tell her that because I didn't want to add any more stress to her race. :sad2:

It sounds like it is gonna be a BIG DEAL! I'm ready to hunker down and EAT! :rotfl2:

The sun is out........we had snow showers last night....probably an inch or three....but not bad at all......hubby said if we only got this once or twice a month he could handle winters...but it was sure cold yesterday....12 when we woke up....so we stay in that is all...

I am sorry I started the downer day....today I think the sun makes us feel better.......all of us go to the sun.....sit in it in the house or go outside and feel it on our bodies.....marita.....Go and see it.....feel it......It will make you feel better..
Marita......I think the reason you havent cried is because you cried internally.....I cried more for my MIL then my mom and it made me feel guilty......we took care of my MIL on a day to day basis and we didnt for my mom....I know it doesnt make sense.....I cried but it was a cleansing cry...I miss them both to this day......You were also on a different side of the world.....you had to work and rely on your relatives to relay the progress of your mama and how she was doing....SO you are a good person and we all know that.....

Moo.I guess we are both worrying about medical issues arent we....I dont want another medication.....I dont want Diabetes.....I dont want to pick my fingers any more.....I dont want to end up on insulin...I dont want to worry about it now....or ever...

AND about winter storms.......just stay in and dont open fridge or freezers until you know exactly what you are going in for....probably milk ...if it is cold out put the stuff on the porch or outside someplace..out of the sun...we were without power during one ice storm for 5 days...we didnt lose anything but sure had to put on a dozen different outfits to keep warm.....Dont bring any heating units into the house like grills or anything...same with generators....this is from a Mainiac telling you all to be safe during power outages...But will add it brought neighbors closer together..we shared meals and body heat.( they came into our houses and visited while we sat in the dark with candles or lanterns...and another thing......It was a beautiful mess outside.......the sun glistened on the ice covered trees and power lines that layed in the roads or on peoples houses.......it was truly beautiful.....

have a good day and lets all smile at each other.......I see you guys smiling.:lovestruc

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a better day than yesterday! :grouphug: But don't anyone apologize for expressing how you're feeling...that's what friends are for, right?

We had a bit of snow last night...less than 2 inches. Luckily, the majority of the storm stayed in the area of Boston and southward. Hopefully, Allie's storm will be no big deal too. I have a cyber-friend who lives in the Atlanta area who's in a major panic because they're supposed to be getting 8+ inches of snow in that area. She went to her usual grocery store for bread and milk, and there was NONE! She ended up having to go to 3 more stores before she finally found bread and milk! Crazy!

After church this morning, we did some chores around the house and Boris did some work on a school project that's due later this week. Other than that, we've just been spending the day puttering and bum-laying. I do love a good day of bum-laying, I tell you what.
