Fabulous pics Marita!!!

Rob....The dog looks totally disenchanted with the whole painting thing. You know my theory is not to do anything to the house til the kids are gone...no new furniture, paint, nothin. Just frat house furniture and dingy walls for the next 10 years. Also sorry to hear about the fracture. I feel your pain. Me and the orthopedist are like *this*. He'll probably have us over for Thanksgiving this year. We've learned to just put the fractured part in a splint and go to the orthopedist office on Monday or next business day. The ER never does anything except say...yep it's broken..you need to go see the orthopedist. That'll be $150. Last time we went to urgent treatment. They x-rayed there and we didn't have to wait and only payed regular visit co-pay. When we go to ER, they actually have to admit you to the hospital and send you to radiology to x-ray. :sad2: so complicated.
I hear you on that theory Lex. It just got to the point we couldn't stand it anymore (holes in the sofa fabrics, sofa cushions that are a half-inch thick when they used to be 3 or 4 inches thick). We are also hoping (praying?), now that our youngest is seven, that the kids by some miracle might come to understand what the words "No food or drinks (other than pure water) in the living room" means.

We got lucky with our injured finger visit yesterday. Where we went actually was more of an urgent care center than an ER and we ended up making two trips (right after I posted last night I had to take DS12 back again because the splint was too painful for him) and there was no wait either time. As you said, we still have to call the actual orthopedist on Monday though and we still have to have an actual radiologist read the x-ray. DS12 is understanably uncomfortable today but he's also still as ornery as ever.

So, I almost died!!! :scared1:
I was at an intersection on my way to return some DVD's at "the" Hollywood Video late last night, and I had a little trouble putting the gear shift into first gear after my light turned green (I was going to turn left at this intersection). It really only was 2 seconds of shoving it into 1st, when all of a sudden, a big truck ran it's RED light on my left!!!! If I had already had the car in 1st gear (as usual) and took off when my light turned green, I would have been T-boned by a BIG truck that was speeding through a red light. And DEAD. My kids would never get fed properly and they'd look like orphans and their teeth would all rot since they never brush unless I nag them to. They'd have ugly haircuts and marry carnival folks and play Bingo with their welfare checks. (This is how I vision them without me anyway).

I just sat there for a minute (it was late so no other traffic) and was so thankful my gearshift was not cooperating!

Heyyyyy I have that same dog. Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Have fun painting! I LOVE to remodel and paint stuff. What color are you doing. I mean, what is the name on the paint chip? I think the names are funny. Not "green" but Apple4. Or Mossy Knoll ;)
Your kids? What about us? What would we do without you Wendee? :confused3

Ok, this is bad, I guess, because a few of you asked. I do not know the name of the paint. We are just repainting it the same as it was (making it look fresher) and that paint was the same paint we used in the last house we had built so it's been our main interior color for 19 years now. I don't think it was anything all that exciting -- something along the lines of "Antique White". I think the color number was Sherwin Williams #1137 if that helps you any. :upsidedow

Rob, sorry to hear about your son's injury. I was skimming last night during the movie and missed that :3dglasses Hope it doesn't put a crimp in your painting. So are you paining over the border or up to it?!
Actually, in the pictures I posted yesterday, you can see what looks like a line of blue around the room below the border. That is the tape that is covering up a piece of trim that runs below the border so we painted right up to the trim piece and then the border sits above it as such:
IMGP1998.jpg

Rob-- I was wondering about the wallpaper too and what colour? Sorry about the boys finger.
See above!

RobIn- I agree with Utah. We want to know the paint chip color. I wish it was my job to name the colors... who could resist choosing Mossy Knoll?
See above!

Rob-what is your Golden retriever's name? We also have one named Amber. They are the best dogs! Tell us more details about your decorating.
Our golden is named Butterscotch. We were insane and got her the same time DW was pregnant with DS7 so we had a puppy and a newborn at the same time. We did NOT get her FOR the newborn -- we had three other boys and our previous dog had passed on just a few months earlier.

As far as the decorating goes, this is the only room we are planning on doing but it is the first stage. Two new sofas are supposed to be arriving in about four weeks. Next up on DW's 2008 and 2009 list is a new recliner chair, new carpet (for the living room and staircase -- or two staircases -- only, not the whole house), new end tables, and SHE is saying we need a larger TV something in the 60" - 70" range (in a usual reversal of spousal preferences, I'm perfectly happy with our 34" which is only two years old) with a new TV stand to go with it.

As Melinda said, we're taking a bit of a risk buying this stuff with kids at home still but I'm also kind of excited about it. We haven't bought anything furniture wise since the kids were born except for bedroom furniture for the kids rooms (well, the TV stand a couple of years ago to go with the new TV but that was pretty minor and some could classify the pinball machines bought over the last several years as furniture but I don't since DW won't allow them in the Living Room any more).

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

I took me almost the whole hour but I did finally get caught up!

PJ
....Glad you're feeling better, sweetie!

Allie
....Glad you got the boy a permit. What a hassle! Good thing the kid had back up cash!

DTD
....Now I'm hungry. For seafood. And ribs. It's really hard to screw up hush puppies? I've never been to Mobile but if I ever go I will get my restaurant recommendations from you! Not liking the MTSU? Oprah might send out a hit man. Do you ever travel to watch the guys play? My cousin/family are going to Birmingham this weekend.

Marita....Looks like a fuuunnnnn vacation! Your kids are so cute together. They look like they really love each other. I think your husbands bathing suit looks like a recent purchase! I like your suit too...not bad at all. And I see you reading the vampire book with your frozen drink in hand. BTW...I looked at your whole photobucket album from the cruise. You should set that thing to *private* so us stalkers can't view all your pictures.

Moo
....Hope you had a goog weekend with DD. Was this a big bday for Mr. Moo? 50?

Wendee
....I'm glad your gearshift wasn't working either! :scared1: I try to tell myself that when I'm running late or things aren't working that it's all part of God's plan although we rarely witness the potential outcome like you did! OH! And my basement is Laura Ashley Pale Apple 2....great minds.

Rob
....Give me a 6-month update on the family room remodel. I'll be curious to know if the nothing-but-pure-water rule sticks. BTW....DS puked on the carpet in the basement yesterdee. Yup.

EVERYBODY.....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT MONDAY!

Good morning, and Happy St. Patrick's Day! Are you wearing green?

I took them grocery shopping today to get out of the house and away from the video games. It was a good math class for them. I made them add up what we put in the cart and remember how much we were at....that part was for me, bad memory.:lmao: It actually opened Nicholas eyes on how much food really cost and I can't just load the cart with anything. He was amazed how little you get for $50.00. I told him he just spent his allowance on a game last night for that much.
Good lesson for them, Nab! My mom was talking about Nicholas and Hannah yesterday. We saw a boy in an ad for Disney and she said it looked like him.

peej - which college is your sister interested in? Vanderbilt? Belmont? Trevecca? David Lipscomb? MTSU? TSU? We've got a bunch!
I didn't stalk them, but I'm here in cincinnati to stalk you!

babycow - You were super close to michael!!! coool beans! I didn't know he's an astarstar! how perfect!

twinks - Sorry I missed your berfday. :( Hope you had a great one! (as always, I forget your exact age. are we the same age now? or are you temporarily two years older? I can't remember which one of us is old. Just in case your memory is as bad as mine, I am officially 31 until May 21st.)

lex - listen to booooblay! heh. He's really good!
very sexy voice.
No WPC! The travesty!
I have no ADRs for my May trip.
Which, considering I don't know what days I'll be going, is a good thing I guess.
I really wanna go to Boma though. :(

moo - wanna go to Boma with me? do you like boma? I try not to do buffets with the surgery and all, but I think I need to revisit that one.

I'll catch up more later!

oh, that stuff that looks like green beer, is really green Sprite in a beer mug.

Death Wish II: the burner on the stove (gas) was ON all night. We are all fine. No headaches or queezies. The flame was not on, just the gas. Luckily, no one lit up!

utah - I'm so glad your gear shift didn't work the other day!

marita - Love the trip report! I'm glad you guys got to the ship early and got to have lunch.

You look so cute with your bahama mama!
I love all your pics. It looks like you all had such a good time!
Do you think the short cruise was worth it? i'm worried it won't be enough time to relax, but a short disney one is probably all I can afford.

allie - have a good trip to atlanta!

WENDEE! BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

big L - WHERE ARE OUR PUPPY PICS?

Hugs and hellos to everyone I missed!

I'm going to try and convince my mom to drink green beer with me tonight. hehehehe.
where should we go, peej?

I almost forgot -

Dear Babycow -

Did you get the bacon cheeseburgers?
I threw them out the window when I was at the northernmost point of Louisville that I went to.
Umm.
I kinda didn't make it to that one bridge.
And I swear Riley only licked the buns a little.
Were they good?

Love,

Your food stalker

P.S. Now I need to find the hotT college chick apartment so I can throw veggieburgers at her window.
woo!

Lex, I PMed Marita the same thing ;)

It wasn't a milestone birthday for Mr. Moo (52) but his 50th wasn't all that great . . . so it was pretty fun to surprise him!

Cel, I'd be game to try Boma. I've never been there before :)

UMA-- Another reason not to pick a gas stove( we are in the market for one) ...I would probably do the same thing. Glad everyone is okay. I think we need to put you in a plastic bubble for a while.....

Marita-- love all pictures, I want to see them all !! Did you get a formal family one done that you can scan or take a picture of a picture.

Moo-- are you off today?

Ally-- enjoy spring break, ours ended today but they only go 4 days this week and next week anyway. Safe travels.

It has turned cold today, but had to get the kids to school and get my license renewed and a new sticker for the plate. I hate that my picture is going to change because I was thinner 5 years ago.....:lmao:

Thanks. I really didn't expect you rearrange your schedule so you could celebrate my birthday in cyberspace. ;) UtahMama DOES however so start planning now. I am older. Two years older till May, then one year older for the rest of the year.

Death Wish II: the burner on the stove (gas) was ON all night. We are all fine. No headaches or queezies. The flame was not on, just the gas. Luckily, no one lit up!
ACK. This is getting scary. Be carefu!!!!!!

We are wIerd and like to do fun stuff on non-milestone birthdays and anniversaries. Maybe because it is even more of a surprise. Anyway- we took a trip together for our 9th anniversary and did nothing (like not even cards) for our 10th.

I love Boma. It is Bomalicious.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day. Be sure to watch an extra episode of SpongeBob to celebrate. ;)

1. I plan on celebrating for Utah at WDW. hehehehehhe. I'll wave!

2. No. See previous post. you are old.
Muahahahaha!
Just kidding!

3. It took me a second, but then I remembered the twinkie perspective! :rotfl:

Glad you're feeling better, Peej  Have you heard anything from Hollywood about how her audition went?!
In my sick state I neglected to call Hollywood in the past couple days. I will be sure to report back soonishly!

Glad you're feeling better, LilL. Make sure you lock all the doors at night. Just saying.
Ummmm.....what are you tryin to do to me here, crazy lady????? I think I already told you this but last time I was on campus alone like this was over Thanksgiving Break and it was a little eerie so I was talking to Hollywood on the phone and her reassuring words for me were "and just think, even if you scream, there's no one there to hear you." What a big sister.

I'm here, but just popping in and out. Trying to get the house clean before I leave for Spring Break. Leaving DH and the pups at home while me and the kids go visit Nana and Papa. I'm still not packed, and have to double check their packing job. :rolleyes1
Have a nice trip, Allie! :wave2:

It was Belmont. I have a friend who goes to Lipscomb though. She's an education major too. And throw Boma food at me. YUM!

Marita...you have a very lovely family. Thank you for continuing to share the pictures. :)

Today was my final evaluation by my supervisor!!!!!!
:cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:
It went really well. I am so happy to have those over I was practically skipping my way out of school. Okay, maybe I really was skipping. :rolleyes1
It's the beginning of the end.
Senior Research Project....check.
Final evaluation.....check.
Teacher Certification Test....check if I passed it. :scared:

I'm off to meet my aunt for dinner at a goog soup place for the sake of my throat. Soup always reminds me of Seinfeld, how do you like that, bbn? Then we're watching my cousin's dance competition after dinner.

Have a nice night, y'all!
:grouphug:

Moovers,
I got a pm today that I wanted to share with you and ask , especially UMA and Twinks, if you would respond positively to it.

(MaverickMike)Hi! I enjoyed reading a part of your trip report tonight! Very entertaining!

I have a question for you. I'm starting a new WDW Podcast that will focus on mini-audio trip reports. We will have a very casual conversation with a new guest each week. I think you would make a super guest for this new podcast! You had an unusual traveling party, which I think the listeners would love to hear about!

We will talk about the planning, resort stay, restaurant reviews, park experiences, etc. Like I said, it will be very casual and fun!

If you would like to be a guest on our new WDW Podcast, please let me know!

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Mike

Whatever it is, I am IN and congrats! I agree- you would do a great job. Your trip reports are informative and funny. You do have an interesting group and you never neglect the food reviews.:thumbsup2

I wouldn't do it. I think it is one of those deals designed to fleece you out of your hard earned money. I would however post more of those interesting Disney Pics HERE.

Thanks, album is set to private now!

Good thing there was nothing embarassing there, LOL!
