Moonlight Magic - EPCOT 2022

We had our trip booked for months flying in after work April 1 (doing the ToT Ten Miler on 4/3) and staying at Bay Lake. We registered for 3/31 and now trying to decide if it is worth completely disrupting our plans to come in early to attend Thursday night.

We are on SW so can change our flight although it will cost way more than our $44 flight we booked months ago. There is nothing available on points or anywhere on property so we would have to stay offsite and rent a car. And we would need to come in Wednesday night so I can work all day on 3/31 and I would need to work all day on 4/1 too which will be more difficult since we would be checking out of our offsite hotel and moving to BLT.

So, question: Is attending 3/31 worth the extra effort and $$? I am squarely on the fence.

**Note: we have AP’s and are at EPCOT all the time with recent trips in November and January.

Going on the 31st. Monorail only until 10 PM? Guessing there'll be buses to get back to Contemporary, Poly, GF?

The monorail never ran past 10 pm for any of the prior Epcot MM events.

Debating between driving and taking the bus from AKV. It's our only Epcot day and we really want to check out the festival, shops and let the kids pin trade. Does anyone know from previous experience if getting in line prior to 6 is necessary or does everyone get in pretty quickly at 6?

We ALWAYS prefer to drive bc we dislike waiting for busses. Would rather park and walk! Since it’s the first MM i would expect it to be very busy, it’s always a bit chaotic anyways when navigating MM + regular park guests crowds. I wish we had more info on what will be open during the event. My family always liked waiting until the party started to avoid the mass of crowds!

So for those of you that signed up, how was that process? Was it difficult to get a spot? I'm thinking about booking a room for July just so we can attend this event. I'm hesitant because its past our banking window and if we didn't get in, I would probably cancel our stay.

This is my third MM and honestly I’ve never had any issues… but others do. Not sure if we are just lucky!

This one will be our 6th attending but had reservations for a MK that got cancelled due to covid and have never had problems either reserving.

One of the big time sucks during Moonlight Magic was always the character meet and greets. At least those should move a lot quicker if they stick to the current protocol. No waiting for pictures, videos, signatures etc...

How many snack vouchers did you get? Does the popcorn bucket count as one of them? I'm assuming the vouchers are in addition to the free Mickey ice cream bars/strawberry fruit bars?

3 snack vouchers, but if you want the dvc popcorn bucket, you need to use 1 for that.
