My wife and I both have membership but one deed. Question is we have our children (2) and some friends (4) meeting us down there. Will I be able to book myself and kids and my wife and the friends since it is yourself and 5 guests per membership? Thanks

Please note that, in order to allow as many Members as possible to enjoy Moonlight Magic, only one event date for each participating park will be available per Membership. Watch disneyvacationclub.com for additions to the Moonlight Magic event slate, as well as party hours and transportation information.

This is on the email. If you booked a 2 bedroom reservation that sleeps 8-9 guest, you could book all of you on one reservation.

I read this as you are only allowed 1 reservation per membership. We have 3 owners on our membership and 7 contracts, but only one membership number.

I have been told by 3 different CMs on 3 separate calls that it does not matter how many people are on your reservation when you book moonlight magic. The reason I asked is we have 2 rooms at poly- us in one and our kids in the other. (Daughter is 21). I have been told by all 3 calls that I can book for all 6 of us.

Where does it say 5 Guests? I have not seen that anywhere. I was told the same as wdw4rfam, if they are on your reservations then you can bring them. So if you are staying in 3BR Villa with 12 people, all 12 can go. If they are not on your reservation, then I am not sure if there is a limit or not.

That’s correct because we did the typhoon lagoon one last summer and had 8 in a 2 bedroom. I think the 5 guest refers to those without resort reservations. In the past it was the dvc member and 5 guest without a resort reservation. But for typhoon, I believe it was almost sold out before it opened to non resort guest, because I remember it filling the first day when it opened to nonresort guest.

The 5 guests is referring to those who are not staying onsite. Otherwise it is the umber of guests on your reservations - or has been in the past. So either 6 people total or the number of guests on your reservation if that number is greater than 6.

Party size limit: Member and up to the number of Guests staying in their resort room accommodations OR up to 6 people including the member.

It will only work if all 8 of you are booked into one room.

What if you have 2 studios?

What if you have 2 studios?

I’d say no. If so, my husband and I could book 2 cabins and get 12 people into MM, which is obviously not fair.

They’d probably tell me to book proper accommodations to fit my crew into one room. The policy says room, singular.

The policy says:
  • Party size limited to the Member plus 5 Guests—or limited to the total number of Guests listed on their Disney Resort hotel reservation(s).
ReservationS. We have 2 studios at Poly for 7 of us and I specifically asked via email if we needed to move to a 2 bedroom or if we would all be able to get in and I was told that we were fine to stay at Poly with our 2 reservations.

Is that the wording for this year? This is Disneyland in Nov. My AK/Sep and Epcot/Dec registrations are also worded the same way.

Oy vey... it's one of those oxford comma situations!

How does everyone read this?
  • "...limited to the 'Member plus 5 guests per Membership'" OR
  • "...limited to the Member 'plus 5 guests per Membership'"
The former dictates that your total party can only be 6 people, whereas the latter implies that you can be larger that 6 (each member per membership plus a total of 5 guests).

Not really, because one of the new rules this year is that you can only have ONE reservation per membership for an event, which implies that it doesn’t matter how many members are on the membership, the reservation us by membership, also if you cancel your room reservation, your moonlight event gets canceled. Looks like they were closing loopholes from previous years.

More info.....last point about limit this year.

Folks it is Member + 5 if you do not have a WDW Resort Reservation (one of the 6 has to be the card carrying member). If you do have a WDW Resort Reservation it is however many guest are on your reservation. So if you are staying in a 3BR Grand Villa with 12 people, all 12 of you can go. In terms of multiple rooms, the CM that I spoke to said they would accommodate that as well. If someone attempts this unsuccessfully or successfully pleas let us know.
