My moochie neighbor is a retired guy. When he first moved in, he came over and looked over my house and asked me about my stuff, did I want to keep this or that. When my DH died he asked about getting his tools. He asked about my LazyBoy chair and matching sofa tables, and I gave them to him because I started using a wheelchair, and I didn't have room for that much furniture. He also got a big sofa table and matching chest of drawers, really my whole matching living room suite minus the sofa. All of it only a few years old. He never offered me a dime for it.
He asked to borrow my DH's reciprocating saw, and 3 years later he still had it until I needed it and took it from his carport one day while he wasn't home. Next time he went to use it, he called me to report it missing. I said I took it back 'cause I needed it, and he seemed miffed. However, he has since bought his own. He has our lawn spreader. He's loaned it out to other people and I don't know where it is now. Every time he used it to fertilize, he told me he would do my yard, too. It's never happened. He's been thru other's houses and asked for their stuff, too. One guy gave him a LazyBoy-type chair that was electric with a controller for different positions. So he wanted me to take back the LazyBoy I gave him. I said no. This month, his Korean War buddy from Florida sold and financed his old furnished mobile home to him, so the neighbor is moving to Fla. Good. He'll be back up here to pack up, and what do you want to bet, he'll want me to take back all the furniture cause he won't need it? Sheesh!
