Is Easter more often in March than April? Eggs and bunnies would be good then. If you want to steer clear of religious themes you could use the general "new life" idea - lambs, chicks, daffodils. Or wind - we often have it gusty in March. We don't do much for St Paddies, but as I'm group 2 for page kits don't let that worry you if you're in group 1!

leaves is good for me BTW - plenty of them in my garden, especially big cherry leaves. SPOILER ALERT - I used leaves for my Liberty Tree Tavern recipe.

I'm thinking that Easter is mostly in April. I think its in March next year but for the last couple its been April (I think). If people wanted I could do Easter though so thats another thought.

Just back and reading through the thread. I've got March in Group 1 and was wondering if everyone would prefer a St Patricks theme or a spring theme? I'm not sure what is being done with April but I don't want everyone to get too much springy stuff but then if no one does anything for St Patricks day thats not good either. Any other ideas? My DH had a basketball idea but thats only good for us college fanatics. LOL

:rotfl2: or those of us, unfortunately I'm not in this group, but our finals are in March for boys basketball in addition to NCAA!!!

Well, I think the saying goes for March...In like a Lion, Out like a Lamb.
And then there is April Showers Bring May's Flowers.

Glad to see a couple of spots open yet...missed sign-ups!

I'll take September...I have a question though...

Do the people in group 2 want a Fall themed September or a School themed September? I can do some of each if people want different things.

Group 2...Let me know what you would prefer!

Thanks!

You got it! Thanks!

I think my friend is also going to do Easter for April in the page kit group 1. I think new life stuff would be great. I can have her do something with eggs.... May be an egg hunt kit? How does that sound?

S :)

I'm not in the page kit group that you're probably talking about, and am only in the embellishment group....but, I'm doing a spring / new life type theme for April (not religious).

For March, kites are also really traditional, but I don't now if anyone still flies them anymore!!

Oh, and, I also love, love, love leaves, too!! I'm known for it with my family and friends.

My grandpa used to always tell us to go fly a kite. :lmao:
Used to also say your ducks out. What ever that means? :rotfl:

But we love kites here. We have the best wind for it.

We have stacks of kites! They tend to be taken on holiday in February and brought home again without coming out of their packet, as if its windy enough its often too cold to go out :rotfl: then forgotten the rest of the year. We realy must take them out more, we live near Blackheath which is great for kites as its open and flat (no hills!)

Group 2 swappers- I was looking at doing Thanksgivingf and football for my stuff but would that be useful for eveyone ( I am guessing maybe not you MazdaUK.

Thanksgiving I was going to do pumpkins and Turkey (so you could use it at other times)

I have a great Goalpost piecing with Football on it I was thinking about also.

Our topper should be the name of the month correct?

Rebecca

I probably wouldn't be able to use Football...one of my daughters was in Flag Football this year, but I didn't take any pictures. If most people prefer football...that's fine...I will just have to remember to bring the camera next Fall!

We don't do much with sports here. I don't think my boys have even watch a full football game on TV. But I'm sure I could think of something besides football to use the goal posts for if the rest of the group would like it.

Sure hope we are planning on using the name of the Month as the topper, 'cause otherwise I have no ideas for one. :rotfl:

AWM, take them out in the yard and let them kick around like they are hitting field goals!!! My kids do that all the time!!!

rlovew, I could use a turkey at Christmas, and pumpkins for autumn generally (DS(7) has been begging to go trick or treating and I might let him go to a few neighbours this year), but wouldn't use football. Anything generally "celebratory" is fine though as it is DS(7)'s birthday in November ;) - that's usually my only pics for November! I could use things like cornucopia for harvest themes, or other foodie-type stuff in recipe books.

How awkward am I on the other side of the pond:rolleyes1

I've ordered my stuff for the embellishment group, and ended up with red and green ribbon, large star brads, christmas tree brads (plain green so can be used elsewhere) and little padded tartan bows. As soon as it comes I can divvy it up and go postal.

Awkward?? No! It's just a reminder and an educational position we are in.. Your football is our soccer (and I believe it's not even spelled our way and instead futball or something like that).. We actually have a British soccer camp that comes to our community for a week..and you should see the kids' faces when they are trying to figure out what the men are talking about.. Like "boots" are our cleats! My DS6 finds that hilarious...

No, its spelt football (but pronounce futbal if you're "oop North" ). Just to confuse you we also have rugby, which is like your football except we have two slightly different sorts, rugby league and rugby union (and no, I don't know the difference :rotfl: ) Just to add to the fun, what you call fusball (sp?) we call "table football". I love that you call footie boots "cleats" - I suppose its a development of running shoes (for track) being called spikes. For us a cleat is something on a yacht you tie a rope around, although I think it can also refer to the tread on climbing boots.

Two countries separated by a common language indeed!

No doubt!! How funny.. you are absolutely right.. common language and total confusion!

That's my plan--- if not, I spent several hours on Sunday cutting out the wrong letters! Gotta love the Cricut.

S :)

I used my XPCS to do the april letters - I think I will need to get new mats soon though as on one side its wearing through.
