Monthly Swap- Closed- 4/25/07

Okay, I am going to be late. Had my items done, but not bagged, before we left for our cruise. Left them on the downstairs counter, thinking they would be safe. But . . .

When I went to get them to prepare them for mailing, found that something had gotten spilled on them and a lot are ruined. So, I will have to redo them. No problem! (can you tell I've been to Jamaica??) However, I won't have the time to do it until Saturday. I will work hard on them and get them in the mail Saturday or Sunday at the latest. Hopefully everything can be ready to go and my items just slipped in.

Should have followed my gut feeling and bagged them, but I was tired and short on time. Learned my lesson!

I am so, so, so sorry for this!

I will be on the look out for them early next week.

My replacements went postal this morning. Thank so much for doing the swapping of elements for me!!

I got them today- I will swap them out and place them with the page kit tonight as I watch basketball!

Glad they got there in time. Do they match okay? I didn't do a prototype with that batch, so I just picked up the scraps and tried to remember what was which layer.

Disneyland Emily- Your stuff came today. It looks great.

We are getting close- the last three packages should be postal by Monday. I plan on swapping them out on Monday and have everything ready to drop in the last three sets when they arrive. Everyone will love getting this swap back- lots of great page kits in put in your books!
I will take pictures and post them when they go postal.

My mom lives with us and is 85, almost 86. She fell aabout 3-4 weeks ago and didn't tell us. Finally told me this weekend, she has bruises and some numb fingers. So, need to schedule appointments to get this looked at.

She has some other issues as well and we--dh and I--are in heavy discussions about nursing home care and when to do it, where to go, etc. I have no siblings, so it all falls on me and it is a very hard decision to make. My mind tells me one thing, but my heart says another.

I know it's a very hard decision... Make sure you ask lots of questions when and if you decide to go in and look at the nursing homes.. Check safety, and contact the health department (or you may be able to find it on the net) about their quality of care, I can't think of the word I want..but they evaluate them every year and give them their accredition. If you want a list of questions to ask.. feel free to PM me.. my Aunt placed my Grandpa in a nursing home because of his dementia.. do we hate it yes...but we had to keep in safe..

Phooey. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. My parents are in their 60s and I can't even begin to think about making those kinds of decisions. to you as you begin this new phase.

Its a hard decision, especially if you have no siblings to share the debate. Personal recommendation is always worth having (even if its negative, as in "don't go there" ), so ask around and see if anyone has recent experience - remember these places can change so just because someone's Aunt Ethel loved a place 15 years ago doesn't mean its the same now.

I just got my package back from the post office. It is "too heavy" so I have to present it to a clerk. THey are closed now, so will go after work tomorrow. I am so sorry about this!
