Monthly Statements or something?

I am totally and completely confused! The first month whatever happened with SSR took place and they didn't debit. Then in June they didn't debit again because they told me that they didn't have my checking info, which I gave them twice. So I let them do a over $300 debit using my debit card. They also told me to send in my information again, which I did. Now they debited me for what I guess was the July 15 payment, even though they did not take it until July 26. Do they give you a statement or something so that you know where you stand with them? I mean you would think they could do something to let you know what you owe and what you have paid.

but instead of going to member services go to the accounting.

someone there should be able to tell you what you need to know. DVC will not send anything out on a monthly basis - so you definitely need to either call or send them an email.

It sounds as though they don't have your auto-debit information set up correctly. As spicey suggests, call MS and select Member Accounting from the phone menu- they can assist.

There are two ways to pay the annual fees. They are due in full in January each year (may be paid using credit card if desired) ... OR ... they will accept a monthly auto-debit from your bank account. DVC does not send out monthly statements.

It's not unusual to have a delay in getting everything set up initially, but after that it should go smoothly.

Thanks guys, I will give accounting a call. I still think it is insane that they do not send out a monthly statement. You don't have to do automatic debit, right? What do they do for those people?

Definitely call Member Accounting; they are very good to work with.

No, you don't have to do automatic debit; many do as it is an interest free way to pay off your annual dues.

The alternative, as Doc pointed out, is to pay the entire annual balance (in advance) in January using a check or a credit card.

Since the dues do not change on a month by month basis (they only make adjustments to the January payment to reflect actual versus accrued property taxes for the prior year) there is really no need for a monthly statement.

I guess that makes sense, but it would be comforting to have internet access to your account or something just so that you know that you are up to date with the monies owed. I guess I am being paranoid, but I surely don't want to see a freak mistake cause me to be in bad standing with DVC.

You can always monitor your checking account to be sure the payment was withdrawn correctly. Don't most banks allow yo to see your account transactions online if you so choose? Ours does.
