I have a question for those of you who grocery shop every month or so. I am trying to put a 30 day menu together. What is the best way to write a grocery list for that many meals? Mainly for the dry and can goods, meat is usually purchased on sale and put in the freezer in advance.

I just started doing this last month. I sat down and did a menu plan for the whole month. I was in and out of the freezers and pantry figuring what I had and what I needed to add. I isued my calendar a lot too, when we would be out all day, crockpot meals, when we had an activity after dinner leftovers or quickie meal. Than I found the crocery shopping list The Today Show talked about. It is on the America's Cheapest Family website and I used that as a starting point and just added in everything I needed to make the meals and snacks, lunches etc. We ar eheaded into week three of our four week menu plan and I am totally thrilled with it. Everything is working great, best part is I have been so sick for a week (bronchitis) and meals have rolled along. My DH and kids know what we're having by looking at the menu plan so they get things going.
