Monte Cristo made to order?

Hi fellow Disney fans. Quick question. We're modifying our typical approach of just doing counter service and eating at Cafe Orleans in a few weeks (reservation in hand). I've always wanted to try the classic Monte Cristo, but I don't eat ham. Is there any reason I won't be able to order it without ham? I know there's a 3-cheese version, but I'd rather have a turkey and cheese version.

Anywho, I'd be surprised if that wasn't an option, but I'd rather know ahead of time so I can temper my expectations/excitement accordingly.

From what I understand.. Disney will make alot of adjustments for customer preference but I dont know for sure. That being said there is a all cheese version.

On a side note... this sandwich is one of my top three reasons to visit Disneyland :)

I'm gluten free, and I read somewhere that they will do a gluten free version for you if you ask in advance. So I emailed and they said they would. We had reservations at Blue Bayou for lunch. When we got there and I mentioned it to the waiter, the chef came out and spoke to me about it. I got the impression that he hadn't gotten the heads up from guest services, because he said it would take a bit longer for our food, but he was perfectly happy to do it. I imagine they could tell you if a ham-less version would be possible. :)

My understanding is that the Monte Cristo is gluten free already, but always double check and ask. That being said, I believe the fries are not considered gluten free at any dining location due to shared fryers.

I find it highly unlikely that the Monte Cristo in gluten free. I would be surprised if they used a gluten free bread. Can anyone confirm this?

I have ordered the monte cristo without turkey in the past. It was not a problem.

As @MDIME stated above it is not GF. But it can be done GF if you give 24 hour notice!

I think you may be confused on what gluten free is;). The 'standard' MC is about as far from GF as you can get:(!

You can get GF fries at Hungry Bear & Smokejumpers (as of 4/2018). I know there are a few other places, but no other names come to mind right now.

But you are right in that you always need to ask!

When we went in August they were able to accommodate my son with no problems. He can't eat much dairy, so they made him one without cheese. We didn't call ahead of time, just asked if it was possible to get no cheese in his when we ordered. Disney is fantastic with special requests.

Wait a second... I CAN GET A CHEESE-LESS MONTE CRISTO?!? Seriously had NO idea. I'll add a heads-up on my reservation. I love Monte Cristos, but my tummy doesn't. I can manage the pomme frites with my medicine, but the MC at the same meal pushes it over the edge, and the medicine doesn't work that well.

Seriously, you just changed my dining-at-Disneyland life!

Yup, I'm not a fan of melted cheese on sandwiches, and I've had them made without as well.

Can you get them with the turkey and cheese with no ham? I am not a fan of pork and the three cheese one is too much for my gallbladder, really don't want an attack while on vacation.

That's what the OP was asking.
