Anyone know how to figure out the 40% discount pin code without calling to make a reservation? Just wondering how much we would save for an October trip

I have been working on this discount all day. I finally broke down and called disney. It took two phone calls and 25 minutes each time on hold. I went to the website and went through getting a price for room only and then taking the 40% off of that rate then went back and got a quote on the website for a vacation package then subtracted the discount savings from the package but it did not seem to work. I also went to small world vacations (recomended travel agent by UG and mousesavers) and they were the same as disney. Hope that helps

The problem I had was I got two different price quotes from two different disney agents and they did not match what I was coming up with. i would call them and then once they give you a quote have them put a courtsey hold on it until you do soem research.

I got this PIN also, and want to get a trip planned for early October. The free dining is going on at the same time... do you know if you can use both... the 40% off room discount AND the free dining promotion??

You can only use one promo. We are going beginning of Oct but not during the current FD promo. I got the Monster 40% pin code last week and applied it to our package but when and if FD comes out for dates after Oct 2nd, I will be calling back to apply that promo instead since it works out to be a bigger savings for us.

You can usually get pretty close by taking the 'rack rate' (here's a link to rack rates from mousesavers.com) taking your percentage off that, then adding back the 13% hotel tax.

But I never hurts to call Disney for an official quote! Beside the on hold music is the best!

Mrs D beat me to it. I got the Monster code yesterday and started pricing on Disney's site. It took me a while before I realized that the total of the per night room rates wasn't the same as the total they were showing. I calculated the tax to be around 12.5%. So to do your own pricing, multiply the per night amount by the number of nights you are staying. Mulitiply that amount by 0.6 to figure out the discount, then mulitiply that by 1.125, and that should give you a pretty good idea of the cost.

Your final quote will usually include trip insurance -- that'll throw the room price numbers off.

um, take 40% off the rack rate that you will see on the web site and that is your cost per room. and then add the tax...if that is too complicated, then go ahead and call disney and they will giove you the answer in a minute and half insteaed of the hours that it seems like it is taking you. hope this helps...

Just booked yesterday, and by taking the room rate, multiplying that by 0.6, then doing a second calculation to multiply by 1.125 to figure out the tax is very accurate. I calculated a 7 night stay, 3 at AKL and 4 at the Poly and was over the actual amount by 2 cents.

Yes. I priced out the dates that I wanted that corresponded with the dates for the PIN, subtracted the 40% and got my prices. When I called Disney, I got the same prices for the resorts I priced out, and then got a few more options quoted to me as well. I haven't double checked those yet, but they sound on par.
