"Monster Storm"? Will the power go off - or won't it?

All I know is it's good to be retired and not have to worry about such things anymore. I worked for an electric utility company for 37 years and it's good to finally have a life. ::yes::

As for the squirrels, we once had a new V.P. of Customer Service who didn't believe so many outages were caused by squirrels and insisted we show him the dead squirrels (and other critters) as proof. I had my trouble shooters bring them in and would deposit a box full of toasted carcasses on his desk every few days. It didn't take long for him to become a believer. ;)

My widowed sister lives right down the road from you - in Lady Lake.. Smart woman - although she made the move for health reasons..:thumbsup2

I am NOT going to call her today and say, "How is the weather?" :lmao:

Like I said, it makes me wonder about the powerlines in the rest of the country--we have the high winds and snow too.

I have wondered that myself. My old house - we would lose it a few times a year (and we thought that was A LOT!!!!). In our current house - we have been there 15 months and it went out 1x this summer for some reason.

I cannot understand though why all these areas have such poor grids! Who knew MN did it best! ;)

Today was very pleasant, a bit on the breezy side. It was pretty cold last weekend, though.

"Cold"?? HOW "cold"?? :rotfl::rotfl:

Good to know it's nice weather down there though.. That's a big help for my sister's health issues..:santa:

We got 5 inches here in my area of Massachusetts - cable and internet went out for awhile, but power's good. We're now getting pretty good winds and wind gusts - I did all my laundry and cleaning early today just in case the power went out. :thumbsup2

We were supposed to get 1 - 3" but got about 8". Not much wind but it started to rain pretty heavy a short time ago. DD had a day off from high school but DS had classes up at Adirondack Community College. No power "blips" so far.

I just checked the National Grid map and there is not much power out at all around here.

I think our total here was 8" - no rain.. No power issues either - knock on wood..:thumbsup2

Just windy here in Cleveland Ohio and the power is on and our power lines are underground thank goodness.

It was getting down into the 30s overnight and the 40s-60s during the day. I have serious doubts about global warming.

Really?? Guess that wasn't much fun - and certainly not what you moved to Florida for!! :santa:
