we were at WDW about 2 weeks ago and DS (age 5) keeps talking about this monorail toy he saw, and wants. It was rather large and cost about $60-$70 so I didn't really pay much attention. He wanted the castle too, but I told him I thought it was for girls more than boys. Anyway, is there any way to buy things that are in WDW toy stores and resorts without actually being there? I don't think this is the kind of thing that will end up at the Disney Store...

You can call Disney merchandise directly and describe to them what you want. The toy monorail is a popular item, they'll know exactly what you want. They also have several other buildings that are available for the set.

If your DS just wants "a" monorail toy, the Contemporary sells a remote controlled monorail for around $16. It has just one car, but the remote is easy to use (DS2.5 uses it easily). Just a thought.
