The last trip with my mom and ecv didn't require us to take the monorail. Previous trips, I did not notice ecvs on monorails (doesn't mean that there wasn't any). I am assuming that monorails are ecv friendly. Is this the case? We plan to take them this time.

yes monorails are ECV friendly. when you get to loading platform CM will tell where to go and there is a ramp to roll on with. just be prepared in that there are a stop or 2 that will require mom to back off down the little ramp off the car. I do not mean the long ramp to the ground just the one that covers the step down. you will be in same car as mom. have a great trip

as other have said yes and I think one of the easiest why to get around with an ECV at Disney ( beside the new express buss service )

I love to ride the Monorails - and if you have ever seen anyone load a wheelchair or ECV on or off a boat at WDW, it's pretty much the same!

Once you are at the station, A friendly CM will be glad to let you know the best place to wait. Once the Monorail arrives, and has emptied, they will place a ramp for you to drive on to the Monorail. Anyone traveling with you boards the same coach. At your stop, let a CM know that you want to disembark, and the ramp will appear again (you don't have to "Evil Kneviel" it off the Monorail LOL) and away you go!

My personal scooter can actually do a 3 point turn inside the coach if we need to leave the same side we came in on, because of it's design. If your scooter can't do that, you will need to back the ECV off the Monorail. CM's are not supposed to help you with this - but you can always put it in "neutral" and push it backwards down the ramp if need be.

There are some of the Monorail stations that have SUPER steep ramps to get up to/down from the loading platform. Go slowly, and keep your center of gravity low, and forward when going up - and low and shifted back a bit going down. Some Monorail stations do have elevators, but some do not.

Have fun!

Thank you all! This board is always helpful to me in making sure my mom has a good time. She must have been very comfortable last year as we are going again! I am so glad I convinced her to rent an ECV because of her knee.
