Ok, so my wedding is at the Wedding Pavilion, my reception at the California Grill. Forget the limo REALLY want to ride the Monorail in my wedding dress to the reception. Has anyone else done this? Yes I know its corny but its my dream. =P

If you want to do it I say go for it! It sounds totally fun! It will probably be shorter than a limo and def. less expensive! Plus, how many people get to say they got to ride the Disney monorail in their wedding dress?

Yes! Several couples have done this and got cute pix!

Yes you can! I spoke to my wedding planner and although she didnt like the idea as sometimes they dont run on time etc she said it could be done. We eventually changed our reception location to the whitehall room so did not get to use the monorail but the main thing I was told was if I do decide to do it I will have to include it into my shedule for about 30 min.HTH

We are planning on doing this for pictures. Our ceremony is in Epcot in Italy and our reception is at the Atlantic Dance Hall. When our reception is over I want to head over that way and hop on the monorail - we will not be using it for transportation for any of our wedding events - just purely for the photo op.

Absolutely!

I wanted pictures of identifiable "Disney" locations for our pictures, so we planned our wedding schedule around having a break between our wedding and our wedding luncheon to allow for this.

We did an Escape wedding, and had the 9:00 a.m. slot at the Wedding Pavilion. We had the limo pick us up at Shades of Green at 8:00, then had it pick up the rest of our guests at the Wilderness Lodge (we had them all park there, since that was where we were going to end the day).

We had our cake and champagne reception over at the Grand Floridian, and we took the limo over there from the Wedding Pavilion. We then still had the limo until 11:00 a.m. We made sure we left our reception by 10:40 so we would have time to get to the limo and have him take us to Epcot before time ran out. All our guests (except my sister, who was MOH, and her husband - they went with us) were told they had until 2:00 p.m. to change clothes, wander around, and use the boats to go back to the Wilderness Lodge for lunch.

We then proceeded on our wedding photography odyssey across Disney. Our photographer, Misty, took lots of photos everywhere we went. We stopped for posed photos, and she also just snapped a lot while we were walking or waiting for transportation.

We got pictures outside of Epcot, then took the monorail over to the TTC. From there, we took the ferry to the MK, and got pictures outside of there. We then took the monorail around to the Poly and got pictures there. From there, we took the boat back to the MK, and then the boat to the WL (I didn't know enough about the boat routes then, or we would have gotten back on the monorail to the Contemporary and gotten the boat to WL from there!) Our lunch reservations were for 2:00 p.m. We were actually late - about 2:20 or 2:30. I think the planning was all good - if we'd taken the monorail instead of the boat from the Poly, I think we would have been fine on time.

And we were all VERY happy with the pictures. I don't have a lot of them up - I've only managed to get a few that kind of track our journey up on my web page. But if you want to see, go to kims-world.net and go to the wedding section.

BTW - note that we had an outside photographer who was very enthusiastic about getting shots in different locations around the parks. If you use DPS, I don't know if they will do any of this. You can ask - we had already decided on Misty before we decided on where we wanted shots, so we never checked with DPS if they would be willing to do any of that. I don't know if they would or wouldn't do different locations like that. We didn't bother asking, we just went.

We took the monorail from the GF to the Magic Kingdom to catch the bus back to our hotel, since our limo time ran out by the time our lunch reception was over at the GFC. We were on line for the monorail in all our wedding gear, and the attendant lead me straight up to the front and my DH, MOH, DH's Best Man, and I got to ride in the front of the monorail! It was one of the coolest experiences of our wedding day, although there's no guarantee it will happen to everyone who tries it. Here we are:

We are hoping to take pictures near it with Randy and then we are definitley riding back after our reception at CG to GF for our wedding night stay!

We're also planning on getting married at the WP and having our reception at the Napa Room, CG - so we're going to take the monorail :)

Oh you have to go for it now!!! The best part about being a bride, is it's YOUR day, you get to do whatever you want and nobody is allowed to gripe, tease or hassle you about anything! :woohoo: Everyone's monorail wedding pictures are great! I wish I had thought of doing it! Of course, I wish I had a husband who would agree to a Disney wedding in the first place... :rotfl:

I'm planning on riding the monorail in my dress to, think it will make a great photo.
