We will be staying at the Contemporary this weekend. Would it be faster to just take our car to epcot instead of the monorail? I am more concerned about getting back for early dinner reservations at the Contemporary on Saturday. It seems silly not to use the monorail, however I have heard it can back up.

thanks!

Well I always say driving yourself will be a lot faster because when leaving Epcot you need to take the Monorail back to the TTC, then before arriving at the Contemporary the Resort Monorail stops at the Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom.

I've always felt the monorail is much faster except when leaving TTC near MK closing or leaving Epcot near its closing time. Monorail lines seem to be short except at park opening and closing hours.

I think the monorail is the way to go. It's in the Contermporary and just out the gates of Epcot.

You won't know the exact time of taking your car until you park at the Hotel and the Epcot, this could take make big difference when you need to walk to your car and wait and ride the lot trams.

You can think of this way as wel,l if the return trip on the monorail is crowded so is the traffic on the street below and the parking lots.

We stayed at BLT in February and taking the monorail to and from Epcot was a disaster. It took forever at the end of the night. We ended up driving for the rest of the trip.

Much faster to drive than to take the monorail. Driving is direct from EPCOT to CR. As " CR Resort Fan" mentioned, you will have to take the first monorail from EPCOT to TTR, then transfer to a different monorail which leaves TTR and makes stops at Poly, GF, MK, and finally CR.

That said... monorail is a much more fun ride than a typical car!
