That honestly has nothing to do with it, there was just as much construction in FW leading up to the closures and it was still running then. I rode it in Nov 2019 even, right around the construction pits. Heck I rode the People Mover twice the other day and you get a clear view of the Tron mess from it. That’s not the issue with the Epcot monorail.
It’s purely a covid issue imo. The MK lines are far busier in terms of ridership and they are limiting the number of people on each train, so they need to run more trains on those lines. I was at GF from Saturday to yesterday and during peak times trains were running nonstop to service all those guests. When capacity increases on the monorails and thus they won’t need as many trains for the same amount of people, I really believe the Epcot line will open again. You also have to consider way less people need it right now, with Poly cash side and CR tower closed for renovations.
