Monorail - rope drop

How does the monorail work from downtown Disney to Tomorrowland for rope drop or 8am in park breakfast reservations? We are staying at the Disneyland hotel and are thinking about taking the monorail at least one of the three days we will be going to DL. Is the line long at downtown disney? Is it easy to get strollers in?

We loved taking the monorail while staying at the Disneyland hotel! Some of our best mornings were when we did that. We got so much done, especially in Fantasyland. Maybe because you miss the big crowds coming in on Harbor. The lines weren't bad at all when we did it (June 2019) but that sort of thing probably varies from day to day.

There is an elevator you can roll the stroller into, or you can fold it and walk it up the stairs. I'm pretty sure they roll right into the monorail itself and you don't need to fold it up (our kids were older when we went, so not positive.)

I don't remember what time the monorail starts running, but I'd guess it is when the park opens. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

I have heard that sometimes it's not running, but that was never the case when we were there.

We’re going to be there (DLH) the day it’s opens back up on 3/7 and probably will rope drop the monorail on 3/9, so we too would love any insight as well.

When we've stayed at the DLH, we've used the monorail mainly on our return trips back to the hotel after a day at the parks. That is the best usage.

Invariably, the monorail either hasn't been open or wouldn't depart until rope drop, so you don't get any advantages of using the monorail in the morning, other than avoiding the crowds at the main gate, and main street.
However, walking down main street at the start of the day is such a disney thing to do, I find it hard to even recommend using the monorail in the morning.
