Looking at July 18th - 25th! :cool1:

We were originally planning on GF because it's my grandfather's favorite resort, but now it looks like he won't be joining us. So we're wide open again! Without him no one else (besides me  ) is really into the idea of GF, so it's out of the question now.

So should we go with one of the other 2 monorail resorts or an Epcot area resort? (It would probably be between Yacht/Beach Club and Boardwalk, so opinions between those would be nice too).

Here's a rough schedule of where we want to go when, if that helps:

18th: Late night arrival, hang at hotel.
19th: MK morning, AK evening EMH
20th: AK morning, Fantasmic! evening
21st: DHS morning, Chef Mickey's then MK evening
22nd: Epcot all day thru evening EMH
23rd: DHS EMH morning(or water park), Evening MK EMH
24th: DTD (maybe water park) DHS EMH
25th: Epcot morning EMH, MK rest of day

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. We want to get to opening for each park but also want to head back to the hotel for a break midday. So I'm not sure what the best location is. :confused3 Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

Personally I would go with one of the Monorail Resorts because having access to the Monorail makes things so much easier.

I would disagree. We love BCV because we can walk into Epcot and take a very nice boat ride to DHS or walk. The bus to MK is minutes. If you primary park were MK I would say the monorail but to get to Epcot via monorail you must get off at the ttc and change.

I agree with the previous post. Being able to walk to 2 theme parks from the Epcot resorts is a real plus. I vote for Boardwalk or Yacht and Beach.

Also, there are so many dining choices to choose from in the area, including the parks, the Disney resorts and the Swan and Dolphin. Have fun!

I would go with the Boardwalk. We love the area and love the convenience of being able to walk (or boat) to two parks. We have never had any trouble with the buses to the other parks. You seem to have a lot of time for the Studios and Epcot which makes the Boardwalk area the best place. It is really nice to have easy access to all the restaurants in Epcot. We usually go to a park in the morning, go back for a swim, and then head to an ADR in Epcot and then go from there.

First, congratulations on having such a wonderful dilemma:woohoo: !!!

You have a lot of DHS and EPCOT in your plan. For that reason, I would go with BW, YC or BC. Plus, it's SO PRETTY there, especially at night!!!!

Everyone who said Boardwalk or Beach Club is correct!! JK....it is a great location all by itself and the fact that you can walk to Epcot and DHS is a bonus. Also, both have great pools, which are wonderful to enjoy during swimming weather!

Epcot resort, definitely! You are planning a lot of time at Epcot and DHS, so it makes sense.

Are there young kids in your party? If so, then BC. If not, then either BWI or YC. I'd personally lean towards YC.

Beach Club/ Yacht Club/ Boardwalk all the way. Looking at your itenary definanetly.

Ditto Robert's thoughts. We were just at BWV and it was awesome walking to EPCOT and DHS.

Thanks for the input guys! I am glad to be making this decision at all! Looks like Epcot area is winning by a longshot. ;)

If we grabbed the first bus to MK in the morning from the monorail resorts, around what time would we arrive at the MK gates? Also, is there any big difference between Yacht and Beach club? I know they're sister resorts...

Boardwalk has kind of been my dream resort for awhile now, but for some reason I'm really intrigued by Beaches and Cream and want to be in walking distance from that! Food's important on our vacations.

Hi, The buses start to run 1 hour prior to the park opening. From the BW to MK is about 20 mins (I think) so the YC & BC should be the same.If a balcony is important, I would stay at the YC as 99% of the rooms have a balcony or patio. The BC has less. Both hotels are the same as far as reg room size etc,but each has their own themeing:thumbsup2:cool1::cool1::cool1:
There is also a bus that leaves for the character breakfests at 7am

The next time my wife and I go sans-kids we've always said that we'd really like to stay at the BC/YC. The views of the Boardwalk and Epcot at night are fantastic and the proximity to all of Epcot's great dining is a big plus.

And while I love the monorail, traveling by boat (while not as fast of course) can be really nice and relaxing, particularly at night when the weather's cooler.

We are actually doing a split stay - a few days at BWI, and then the rest of the stay at CR. As I've been reading more about the BW area, I can see why alot of folks have recommended it! It will be our first stay at an Epcot resort and we are excited.

Can't believe I'd say this, but I almost love the location of BC/YC better. We've stayed at the Poly the past few times, and never thought I'd love being "off" the monorail. But, this past New Years, we stayed at YC.

I worried to death about not being on the monorail line, but I shouldn't have. The location was great, maybe even better than the Poly, DH and I discussed! A short walk to Epcot or the boat ride to DHS. We found the bus ride to MK to be less than 15 minutes. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a lot of votes for the Epcot resorts. Looking at your itinerary, I see 6 trips to DHS/Epcot (combined), but also 6 trips to MK/Epcot (combined), plus Chef Mickey's. My vote, which is very biased, LOL, is for the POLY!!! Monorail to both MK and Epcot!!

Me, too. The monorail is not as wonderful as people seem to think it is, IMO. We really love the walk to Epcot and the boat (or walk) to DHS. IMO even from the Poly it's a long, long way to get to Epcot.;)

I prefer the Monorail area...but my son is obsessed with that kind of thing and we love the Contemporary...it's why we finally bought DVC so we could be at BLT.

However at some point, I do want to stay at BCV because of the pool area--I'll wait until my daughter's old enough to enjoy it too.

Best of luck in planning!
